ASSEMBLY

1. Unpack the 40 Cup Coffee Urn from the box.

2. Wipe clean all the parts with a soft damp cloth or sponge and warm water.

Rinse and dry thoroughly. DO NOT IMMERSE THE COFFEE URN IN WATER OR
ANY OTHER LIQUID.

3. Using a damp cloth or sponge, wipe the interior and exterior of the coffee urn

and dry thoroughly.

DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MATERIAL TO CLEAN THE SURFACE

DO NOT IMMERSE THE COFFEE URN INTO WATER AT ANY TIME

GENERAL INFORMATION

When using the 40 Cup Coffee Urn, basic safety precautions should be observed.

PLEASE READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE 40 CUP
COFFEE URN.

1. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. The

Coffee Urn is not intended for use by children.

2. For indoor household use only.

3. Unplug the Coffee Urn from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

4. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or Coffee Urn base

in water or any other liquid.

5. Do not operate the Coffee Urn with a damaged cord or plug, or if the Coffee Urn

malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the Coffee Urn to
customer service for examination or reimbursement.

6. Keep hands and utensils out of the Coffee Urn bowl when in use.

7. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They

could constitute a danger to the user and risk damage to the Coffee Urn.

8. Never move the Coffee Urn by pulling the cord. DO NOT let the electrical cord hang

over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

9. Place the Coffee Urn on a flat, level, stable, heat resistant surface when

using.

10. When moving Coffee Urn, hold coffee urn base with two hands. Do not

hold by the handles.

11. Do not place the Coffee Urn on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated

oven.

12. Do not use the Coffee Urn with a damaged outlet.

13. Make sure hands are dry when plugging in and unplugging the Coffee Urn.

14. Do not use this Coffee Urn for other than intended use.

15. This Coffee Urn is not intended for use by persons (including children) with

reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the Coffee Urn by a person responsible for their safety.

16. Use extreme caution if moving the coffee urn when it is full of hot liquid.

17. DO NOT plug in the Coffee Urn without water in the coffee urn.

18. The Coffee Urn is only used to brew coffee. Do not use it for any other purpose

such as steaming or boiling food.

19. If the Coffee Urn is leaking, be sure the spout is turned in the down position. If it

continues to leak, call customer service.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions

listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The warnings,
cautions, and instruction discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that
common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be built into this product, but
must be supplied by the operator.

CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury

resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords
are available from local hardware stores and may be used if care is exercised in their
use. If an extension cord is required, special care and caution is necessary. Also the
cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V, and at least 13 A., 1625 W.,
and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.

3 PRONG PLUG

NOTE: This item comes equipped with a 3 prong plug. It is
recommended that you only plug this into an outlet that
accepts the 3 prongs and that you do not try to defeat this
feature as it is an important safety feature that protects
you from electric shock if a wire comes loose.

ELECTRIC POWER

If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliances may not operate
properly. The appliances should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other
operating appliances.

SAFETY WARNING

Although your Coffee Urn is easy to operate, for your safety, the warnings below must
be followed:

1. Do not place the Coffee Urn near a heat source.

2. Never leave the Coffee Urn unattended while connected to the electrical outlet.

3. Use the Coffee Urn on a stable work surface away from water.

4. Do not unplug from the wall socket by pulling on the supply cord.

5. The Coffee Urn must be unplugged:
A. After each use.
B. If it appears to be faulty.
C. Before cleaning or maintenance.

USER INSTRUCTIONS

Before First Use

 Open the lid and remove the filter.
 Wash all loose pieces in warm soapy water. Rinse, and dry thoroughly before

first use.

 Use a soft damp cloth to wipe out the interior of the coffee urn.
 Do NOT immerse coffee urn in water or any other liquid.

How to Use

1. Place the Coffee Urn on a flat, solid surface.

2. Open the lid and pour in water. Water should be above the “MIN” line, but
should not exceed the “FULL” line.

3. Make sure the stem is connected to the bottom of the filter.

4. Place the filter with stem into the coffee urn and center it into the circular
heating element in the base of the coffee urn. NOTE: The stem does not click
into place, it will gently lay in the center of the heating element.

5. Add coffee grounds into the filter. Close and lock the lid by turning it clockwise
into the notches on the handles. NOTE: The lid will not lock into place if the
filter with stem is not correctly positioned.

6. Plug the coffee urn into the outlet. The red indicator light will turn on and the
water will start to boil.

7. As the temperature rises, boiling water will rise through the stem and spray on
the coffee grounds in the filter. The coffee will start to brew. DO NOT open
the lid while the coffee is brewing.

8. Once the coffee is brewed, the red indicator light will turn completely off (the
indicator light may flash on and off a few times before brewing is completed).

9. The coffee is ready to drink. Place cup against the flap under the spigot and
push back.

10. NOTE: The brewed coffee is VERY HOT.

11. The coffee can also come out in a continuous flow if the spigot is turned in the
upright position. To stop the continuous flow, push the spigot back down.

12. Unplug Coffee Urn when not in use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION:

Always be sure that the Coffee Urn is unplugged and completely cooled before
cleaning or attempting to store the item. NEVER IMMERSE base in water or any
other liquid.

It is important to clean your Coffee Urn thoroughly after each use to prevent sticky
build ups that are difficult to clean later. Proper cleaning of the Coffee Urn can lead
to a cleaner, better tasting coffee.

1. Unplug the coffee urn from the outlet. Let the coffee urn completely cool.

2. Remove the lid and filter with stem.

3. Dispose of coffee grounds.

4. Carefully pour out any remaining liquid.

5. Wash the lid, filter and stem in warm soapy water. Rinse, and dry thoroughly
before storing.

6. Wipe the coffee urn with a damp cloth, sponge, or paper towel. Do NOT
immerse the base or run water over the base unit. Dry the surfaces with a soft
cloth or paper towel before storing.

7. Do not use abrasive cleaners on any part of the Coffee Urn.
