IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put motor body, cord, or electrical plug of this Hand Blender in water or other liquid.
3. This appliance should not be used by children and care should be taken when used near children.
4. Avoid contacting moving parts.
5. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact the manufacturer at their customer service telephone number for information on examination, repair, or adjustment.
6. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
7. Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
8. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
10. Do not let cord contact hot surfaces, including the stove.
11. When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.

12. Keeps hands and utensils out of the container while blending to prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit. A scraper may be used but must be used only when the unit is not running.

NOTE: Your product has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug will fit in an outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.
Use the product power cord to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
NOTE: Maximum rating is based on the chopper accessory, included with
KitchenAid® model KHBBV83. Other attachments may draw different power or current.

PRODUCT USAGE
Before first use, clean all parts (see “Care and Cleaning” section).
ASSEMBLING THE BLENDING ARM
IMPORTANT: Always unplug the Hand Blender, before attaching or removing parts.

Insert the Blending arm into the Motor body and twist until it clicks to lock in place.
NOTE: U.S. patent pending removable pan guard to help protect your cookware.

If using a Pan guard, place it on a flat surface. To insert the Pan guard, angle the blending arm to one side of the mounting clip. Then, gently pull the other mounting clip outward and push down the blending arm. Ensure the mounting clips are secured into place.
USING THE BLENDING ARM
Use for smoothies, milkshakes, soup, cooked vegetables, frosting, or baby food, etc.

Blending
Insert the Hand Blender into the mixture. Press the Variable speed controller to start. Use your free hand to cover the top of the blending jar for better stability and avoid splashing.
NOTE: Do not immerse Motor body into liquids or other mixtures.

Drawing up
Use the draw up motion with the Hand Blender to move the ingredients within the jar. Slowly draw it upwards against the side of the jar. Repeat the process until the ingredients are at the desired consistency.
