When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to
persons including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. The heating element surface is subject to residual heat
after use. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or
knobs.
3. To avoid electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs,
or the slow cooker base in water or other liquid.
4. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of
children aged less than 8 years.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before
cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking
off parts.
6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord
or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has
been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to
the nearest Authorized Service Facility for
examination, repair, or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended
by KitchenAid may cause injuries.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not use without a lid. Do not use without a pot in
place, or with a cracked pot.

11. Do not use abrasive cleaning products. Do not use
alkaline cleaning agents.
12. This appliance must not be immersed.
13. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or
touch hot surfaces.
14. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner,
or in a heated oven.
15. Extreme caution must be used when moving an
appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
16. To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF,” then remove
plug from wall outlet.
17. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
18. This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory,
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
19. This appliance is intended to be used in household
and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, ofces, and
other working environments
- farm houses
- by clients in hotels, motels, and other
residential type environments
- bed and breakfast type environments.
