MODEL 740 IN-LINE
INSTRUCTION GUIDE
1. Choose a suitable location after filter and heater. The feeder may be plumbed with flow in either direction. Install in a vertical position.
2. Remove cap, basket and spring. Cement PVC pipe into feeder ports. Follow PVC cement manufacturer’s recommendations. (Be careful not to get cement into basket chamber.)
3. After installation has been made, fill hot tub or spa with water, turn on pump and check for leaks.
CAUTION: Use ONLY Bromine sticks or tablets. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF CHLORINE. NEVER mix or use with
any other chemicals.
1. Turn off pump.
2. Fill basket with Bromine sticks or tablets. Do not fill above top of basket. (See above caution.) DO NOT MIX CHEMICALS.
3. Replace cap.
4. Turn cap to proper setting for gallonage and filtration time of your spa. See Guidelines.
5. Start pump.
NOTE: Each spa or hot tub is different in it’s gallonage, filtration time, usage, location (indoors or outdoors) and climate. These circumstances will affect the actual feed adjustments necessary.
Determine the Sani-King feed adjustment setting by following these guidelines. Using the appropriate Test Kit for Bromine, maintain a desirable 2.0-4.0 ppm.
GALLONS Cap adjustment setting
150 1.1 250 1.3 350 2.2 450 2.8 550 3.0
750 3.8 After first filling hot tub or spa, the residual may not be obtained for as long as two days due to the above mentioned circumstances.
Turn cap to the appropriate setting from chart above. Start pump, and run at high speed for approximately 12 hours. Check residual. If less than 2.0 ppm, continue pump at high speed for an additional 12 hours at the same setting. If after 24 hours, the residual has not been obtained, turn cap clockwise one full turn and repeat the procedure. Then fine tune the setting (clockwise or counterclockwise) for your environment and spa usage.
Some circumstances during the first few weeks of tub installation may require initial settings to be greater than normal. These circumstances often include; unusually heavy bather usages, leaching of the wood (hot tubs), bacteria, location (indoors or outdoors) and climate. The setting may need to be 1/2 to 1 full turn greater than the chart shows. Residual of between 2.0 to 4.0 ppm is desirable during the first few weeks of start up. Retaining this residual there after, using the chart provided, may require a reduced setting.
RECOMMENDATIONS
For best results, heat spa or hot tub to desired temperature (approximately 102°F) and refrain from using spa until a sanitary residual reading of 2.0-4.0 ppm is obtained.

For normal usage, fill the Sani-King approximately every 1014 days. Find the ultimate setting. Set it and forget it.
When a heavier bather load is anticipated, the sanitary residual should be increased to 4.0+ ppm. this may be obtained by turning the cap clockwise.
CAUTION: READ CAREFULLY
The Sani-King feeder is designed to use ONLY Bromine tablets and sticks. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF CHLO-
RINE. NEVER USE OR MIX WITH ANY OTHER CHEMICALS. FIRE OR EXPLOSION MAY RESULT. Use extreme
caution when servicing or opening your feeder. Shut off pump before opening feeder. NEVER INHALE FUMES. Always protect skin, eyes and clothing from chemicals at all times. NEVER open feeder when pump is operating. ALWAYS keep return lines open except when opening or servicing the feeder. ALWAYS follow chemical manufacturer’s cautions and recommendations carefully for the ultimate in water sanitation and conditioning.
1. The basket should be removed annually and rinsed well in warm water to remove any chemical buildup that could cause the basket to stick. To remove, place a screwdriver down inside the basket in the cam slot at bottom. Turn clockwise
90° so the slot is now perpendicular to the unit ports (or direction of water flow.) This releases latches under ports so basket can be pulled out. Simply reverse this process to replace basket.
2. Check basket o-ring for wear, excessive swelling or
inability to seal properly. If in good condition, lubricate with a silicon-based lubricant only. If o-ring needs to be replaced contact your dealer or King Technology, Inc.
3. No maintenance of teflon glide seal is necessary unless
cap should acquire a leak. The teflon glide seal should then be replaced. DO NOT LUBRICATE TEFLON GLIDE SEAL.
4. Winterizing unit is necessary if hot tub or spa is located in
freezing climates and not in use during winter. Remove all chemicals then drain spa, all pipes and the Sani-King Feeder thoroughly.
