Safety Information

1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, ensure the electricity has been turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before you begin.

2. All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70-1999 and local electrical codes. Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.

3. The outlet box and support structure must be securely mounted and capable of reliably supporting 35 lbs. (15.9 kg). Use only UL Listed outlet boxes marked “Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or less.”

4. The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 ft. (2 m) clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the oor.

5. Do not operate the reversing switch while the fan blades are in motion. You must turn the fan off and stop the blades before you reverse the blade direction.

6. Do not place objects in the path of the blades.

7. To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items,

use caution when working around or cleaning the fan.

8. Electrical diagrams are for reference only. Light kits that are not packed with the fan must be UL-listed and marked suitable for use with the model fan you are installing. Switches must be UL General Use Switches. Refer to the instructions packaged with the light kits and switches for proper assembly.

9. After making electrical connections, spliced conductors should be turned upward and pushed carefully up into the outlet box. The wires should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding conductor on one side of the outlet box.

10. All setscrews must be checked and retightened where necessary before installation.

Warranty

The supplier warrants the fan motor to be free from defects in workmanship and material present at time of shipment from the factory for a lifetime after the date of purchase by the original purchaser. The supplier also warrants that all other fan parts, excluding any glass or acrylic blades, to be free from defects in workmanship and material at the time of shipment from the factory for a period of one year after the date of purchase by the original purchaser. We agree to correct such defects without charge or at our option replace with a comparable or superior model if the product is returned. To obtain warranty service, you must present a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase. All costs of removing and reinstalling the product are your responsibility. Damage to any part, such as by accident, misuse, improper installation, or by afxing any accessories, is not covered by this warranty. Because of varying climatic conditions this warranty does not cover any changes in brass nish, including rusting, pitting, corroding, tarnishing, or peeling. Brass nishes of this type give their longest useful life when protected from varying weather conditions. A certain amount of “wobble” is normal and should not be considered a defect. Servicing performed by unauthorized persons shall render the warranty invalid. There is no other express warranty. Hampton Bay hereby disclaims any and all warranties, including but not limited to those of merchantability and tness for a particular purpose to the extent permitted by law. The duration of any implied warranty which cannot be disclaimed is limited to the time period as specied in the express warranty. Installation

MOUNTING OPTIONS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or personal injury, mount to an outlet box marked “Acceptable for fan support of 35 lbs. (15.9 kg) or less,” and use the screws provided with the outlet box. An outlet box commonly used for the support of lighting xtures may not be acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician.

If your ceiling fan does not have an existing UL-listed mounting box, then install one using the following instructions:

Ƒ Disconnect the power by removing the fuses or turning off

the circuit breakers.

Ƒ Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure.

Use the appropriate fasteners and materials. The outlet box and its bracing must be able to fully support the weight of the moving fan (at least 35 lbs.). Do not use a plastic outlet box.

The illustrations below show three different ways to mount the outlet box.

NOTE: You may need a longer downrod to maintain

proper blade clearance when installing on a steep, sloped ceiling. The maximum angle allowable is 20° away from horizontal.

If the canopy (C) touches the ball/downrod assembly (B), then remove the decorative canopy bottom cover and turn the canopy (C) 180° before attaching the canopy (C) to the mounting plate.

To hang your fan where there is an existing xture but no ceiling joist, you may need an installation hanger bar as shown above (available at any Home Depot store).

Assembly - Standard Ceiling Mount

Preparing for standard mounting

Ƒ Remove the canopy ring (M) from the canopy (C) by turning

the ring counter-clockwise until it unlocks.

Ƒ Remove the mounting bracket (A) from the canopy (C) by

loosening the two canopy screws (JJ) located in the “L shaped” slots.

Ƒ Remove and save the two canopy screws (II) in the round

holes. This will enable you to remove the mounting bracket (A).

Routing the wires

Ƒ Make sure the slot openings are on top and route the

wires exiting the top of the fan-motor assembly (D) through the canopy (C) and the canopy ring (L) and then through the ball/downrod assembly (B).

Assembling the fan

WARNING: Failure to properly install the locking pin (EE) could result in the fan becoming loose and possibly falling.

Ƒ Loosen, but do not remove, the setscrews (HH) on the collar

on top of the fan-motor assembly (D).

Ƒ Align the holes at the bottom of the ball/downrod assembly

(B) with the holes in the collar on top of the fan-motor assembly (D).

Ƒ Carefully inset the hanger pin (DD) through the holes in

the collar and ball/downrod assembly (B). Be careful not to jam the hanger pin (DD) against the wiring inside the ball/ downrod assembly (B).

Ƒ Insert the locking pin (EE) through the hole near the end of

the hanger pin (DD) until it snaps into its locked position.

Ƒ Re-tighten the setscrews (HH) on the collar on top of the

fan-motor assembly (D).

Assembly - Close-To-Ceiling Mount

Routing the wiresPreparing for mounting

Ƒ Remove canopy ring (M) from the canopy (C) by turning the

ring counter-clockwise until it unlocks.

Ƒ Remove the mounting bracket (A) from the canopy (C) by

loosening the two canopy screws (JJ) located in the “L shaped” slots

Ƒ Remove and save the two canopy screws (II) in the round

holes. This will enable you to remove the mounting bracket (A).

Ƒ Remove the decorative canopy bottom cover (N) from the

canopy (C) by pressing the three studs located inside the bottom of the canopy.

Ƒ Remove three of the six screws and lock washers (QQ) (every

other one) securing the motor collar (N) to the top of the fanmotor assembly (D).

Ƒ Place the rubber gasket (FF) over the remaining three screws,

route the wires exiting the top of the fan-motor assembly (D) through the canopy (C) and canopy ring (L) (make sure the slot openings are on top), and then place the canopy (C) over the collar at the top of the fan-motor assembly (D).

Ƒ Align the mounting holes with the holes in the motor and

fasten using the three screws and lock-washers (QQ) removed previously. Tighten the mounting screws securely.

Ƒ Pass the 120-Volt supply wires through the center hole in the

slide-on mounting bracket (A).

Ƒ Install the slide-on mounting bracket (A) on the outlet box by

sliding the slide-on mounting bracket (A) over the two screws (TT) provided with the outlet box. If necessary, use leveling washers (not included) between the slide-on mounting bracket (A) and the outlet box. The at side of the slide-on mounting bracket (A) should face toward the outlet box, as shown.

Ƒ Securely tighten the two mounting screws (TT).

WARNING: The hook (XX) is only to balance the fan while making the electrical connections. Failure to hang as shown may result in the hook (XX) breaking, causing the fan to fall. The hook must pass from the inside to the outside of the canopy.

WARNING: When hanging the fan on the hook (XX) it is critical that you use one of the non-slotted (round) holes in the canopy (C).

Ƒ Carefully lift the fan-motor assembly (E) up to the slide-on

mounting bracket (A).

Ƒ Insert the ball portion of the ball/downrod assembly into the

socket of the slide-on mounting bracket.

Ƒ Turn the ball/downrod assembly clockwise until it is seated

with the tab of the slide-on mounting bracket aligned with the slot in the ball.

Ƒ If using close-to-ceiling mounting, hang the fan on the hook

provided by utilizing one of the holes at the outer rim of the ceiling canopy (C).

Setting the code on the remote control

and receiver

NOTE: The frequencies on your receiver and remote

control have been preset at the factory. Before installing the receiver, make sure the dip switches on the receiver and remote control are set to the same frequency. The dip switches on the remote control are located inside the battery compartment.

NOTE: The battery will weaken with age and should be

replaced before leaking takes place, as this will damage the remote control. Dispose of used batteries properly and keep batteries out of the reach of children.

Ƒ Remove the remote control (J) battery cover by pressing

rmly on the arrow and sliding the cover off.

Ƒ Slide the code switches to your choice of either up or down.

The factory setting is up.

Ƒ Slide the code switches on the receiver (K) to the same posi-

tion as set on the remote control (J).

Ƒ Replace the battery cover on the remote control (J).

Installing the receiver

WARNING: To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, remember to disconnect power. The electrical wiring must meet all local and national electrical code requirements. The electrical source and fan must be 110/120 volt, 60Hz. Do not use this product in conjunction with any variable wall control. Incorrect wire connection can damage this receiver.

CAUTION: If other fan wires are a different color, have this unit installed by a licensed electrician.

CAUTION: Do not install the receiver in a damp location or immerse in water (For indoor use only). Do not pull on or cut the receiver leads shorter. Do not drop or bump the unit.

Ƒ Position the house supply wires (AAA) to one side of the

slide-on mounting bracket (A); position the fan wires (BBB) to the opposite side.

Ƒ Insert the narrow end of the receiver (as shown, at side

towards the ceiling) into the slide-on mounting bracket until it rests on top of the ball/downrod assembly.

Wiring the receiver to the household wiring

WARNING: Each wire not supplied with this fan is designed to accept up to one 12-gauge house wire and two wires from the fan. If you have larger than 12-gauge house wiring or more than one house wire to connect to the fan wiring, consult an electrician for the proper size wire nuts to use.

IMPORTANT: Use the wire connecting nuts (CC) supplied with

your fan. Secure the connectors with electrical tape and ensure there are no loose strands or connections.

Ƒ Spread the wires apart so that the green and white wires

are on one side of the outlet box and the black wire is on the other side.

Ƒ Connect the green fan wires to the household ground wire

(this may be a green or bare wire) using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Connect the receiver black (or red) wire to the household

black (hot) wire using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Connect the receiver (K) white wire to the household white

wire (neutral) wire using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Secure each wire connecting nut using electrical tape.

Making the electrical connections

WARNING: Each wire connector supplied with this fan is designed to accept up to one 12-gauge house wire and two wires from the fan. If you have larger than 12-gauge house wiring or more than one house wire to connect to the fan wiring, consult an electrician for the proper size wire connectors to use.

CAUTION: If the supply wires are a different color, have this unit installed by a licensed electrician.

IMPORTANT: Use the plastic wire connectors (CC) supplied with

your fan. Secure the connectors with electrical tape and ensure there are no loose strands or connections.

NOTE: The fan comes with 54 inch lead wires for use with an

extended ball/downrod assembly. If using the 4.5 inch ball/ downrod assembly (B) provided, you can cut the lead wires to your desired length (no shorter than 12 inches).

Ƒ The fan comes with 54 in. lead wires for use with an extended

ball/downrod assembly. If using the 4.5 in. ball/downrod assembly (B) provided, you can cut the lead wires to your desired length (no shorter than 12 in.) This will make extra room in the canopy (C), if you do not wish to cut the wires, you will need to neatly wrap them.

Ƒ Connect the fan motor white wire to the receiver white wire

using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Connect the fan motor black wire to the receiver black wire

using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Connect the fan motor blue wire to the receiver blue wire

using a wire connecting nut (CC).

Ƒ Secure each wire connecting nut using electrical tape. Ƒ Turn the wire connecting nut (CC) upward and push the wiring

into the outlet box (MM).

Wrapping the extra wire

NOTE: Follow this step ONLY if you did not cut the extra length off

from the wires coming from the ceiling fan to the receiver.

Ƒ Gently wrap the excess wire around the mounting bracket,

under the receiver.

Ƒ Secure with electrical tape.

Mounting the fan-motor assembly

(standard mount)

WARNING: When using the standard ball/downrod mounting, the tab in the ring at the bottom of the mounting bracket must rest in the groove of the hanger ball. Failure to properly seat the tab in the groove could cause damage to the wiring.

WARNING: The locking slots of ceiling canopy are provided only as an aid to mounting. Do not leave the fan assembly unattended until all four canopy screws are engaged and rmly tightened.

Ƒ Align the locking slots of the ceiling canopy (C) with the two

screws in the mounting bracket (A). Push up to engage the slots and turn clockwise to lock in place.

Ƒ Firmly tighten the two mounting screws. Ƒ Install the two mounting screws (saved from Assembly Step

1 “Prepairing for mounting”) into the holes in the canopy (C) and tighten rmly.

Ƒ Install the decorative canopy ring (M) by aligning the ring’s

slots with the screws in the canopy (C). Rotate the ring clockwise to lock in place.

(close-to-ceiling mount)

WARNING: The locking slots of the canopy are provided only as an aid to mounting. Do not leave the fan assembly unattended until all four canopy screws are engaged and rmly tightened.

Ƒ Carefully unhook the fan from the slide-on mounting bracket

(A) and align the locking slots of the canopy (C) with the two screws (SS) in the slide-on mounting bracket (A). Push up to engage the slots and turn clockwise to lock the canopy (C) in place.

Ƒ Immediately tighten the two mounting screws (SS) rmly. Ƒ Install the remaining two mounting screws (SS) into the holes

in the canopy (C) and tighten rmly.

Ƒ Install the decorative canopy ring (L) by aligning the ring’s slots

with the screws in the canopy (C). Rotate the canopy ring (L) counterclockwise to lock it in place.

Assembly - Attaching the Fan Blades

NOTE: Your fan features revolutionary advancements for quick and easy blade installation.

NOTE: Your fan blades are reversible. Select the blade side nish which best accentuates your decor.

Ƒ Fasten the blade bracket (G) to the fan-motor (D) by insert-

ing the alignment post into the slot on the bottom of the fan-motor (D) and tightening the fan-motor screws.

Ƒ The fan-motor screws are pre-attached to the blade

bracket (G). Repeat this procedure for the remaining four blade brackets (G).

Attaching the blades

Ƒ Mount the fan blade (F) to the blade bracket (G) by aligning

the three key-slot holes in the blade (F) with the three posts on the top of the blade bracket (G).

Ƒ Hold the blade (F) with both hands close to the blade bracket

(G) and press the blade (F) down rmly. Ensure the key-slot holes are properly seated on the blade bracket (G) posts.

Ƒ While still holding the blade (F) down with both hands, rmly

slide the blade (F) away from the fan-motor (D) housing until the blade (F) engages in the locking mechanism. Make sure the steel locking mechanism at the rear of the blade bracket (G) springs upward and butts against the edge of the blade (F), indicating a secure connection.

Ƒ Visually inspect the top of the blade bracket (G) to ensure the

locking mechanism is securely in place.

Ƒ Repeat this procedure for the remaining blades (F).

Assembly - Attaching the lights

Attaching the light kit tter assembly

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, disconnect the electrical supply circuit to the fan before installing the light xture.

NOTE: Notice the location of the fan’s slide switch. This is the switch used to change the fan’s directional rotation. For more information on the operation of this switch, see Operating Your Fan and Remote Control on page 15.

NOTE: If you need an extra switch cup (or cover) for the non-light option, please call 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (M-F 9:00am to 4:30pm EST).

Ƒ Remove the three screws (RR) on the switch cup cover of the

light kit tter assembly (E).

Ƒ Connect the wires from the light kit tter assembly (E) to the

wires from the switch cup of the fan-motor assembly (D) by connecting the molded adaptor plugs together (blue to black, white to white). Carefully tuck all wires and splices into the switch cup.

Ƒ Align the three holes in the switch cup cover of the light kit

tter assembly (E) with the three holes in the switch cup of the fan-motor assembly (D). Make sure the notch in the switch cup cover of the light kit tter assembly (E) clears the reversing switch in the switch cup of the fan-motor assembly (D). Position the light kit tter assembly (E) and re-install the three screws (RR) that were removed in rst step to secure the light kit tter assembly (E).

Installing the glass shades

and bulbs

WARNING: Allow the glass shades to cool completely before removing.

WARNING: Over lamping the light kit will result in the lights shutting down until the proper wattage of bulbs are installed. Reset the lights by turning off the lights, replacing the bulbs with the correct wattage bulbs, and turn the lights back on.

CAUTION: Make sure the power is off before attaching or removing the glass shades.

NOTE: Using a E12 CFL type bulb will eliminate the dimming option, and may cause ickering.

Ƒ Insert the glass shade (H) into the light kit tter assembly

(E) glass holder by carefully squeezing the steel tensioners (TT) on the light kit tter assembly (E) socket together.

Ƒ Gently slide the glass shade (H) over the steel tensioners

(TT). Make sure the glass shade (H) is fully inserted into the socket for a secure t. Repeat this procedure for the remaining glass shades (H).

Ƒ With the power off, install the light bulbs (I) into the light

bulb sockets.

Operation

OPERATING YOUR FAN

Your fan is equipped with a remote control to operate the fan speed and lights of your new ceiling fan.

The speed setting for warm or cool weather depends on factors such as the room size, ceiling height, number of fans and so on.

The fan is shipped from the factory with the reversing switch positioned to circulate air downward. If airow is desired in the opposite direction, turn your fan off and wait for the blades to stop turning, then slide the reversing switch (located in switch cup) to the opposite position, and turn the fan on again. The fan blades will turn in the opposite direction and reverse airfow.

NOTE: Wait for the fan to stop before reversing the direction of the

blade rotation.

Warm weather - (Forward) A downward airow creates a cooling effect. This allows you to set your air conditioner on a higher setting without affecting your comfort.

Cool weather - (Reverse) An upward airow moves warm air off of the ceiling. This allows you to set your heating unit on a lower setting without affecting your comfort.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL

NOTE: This remote is equipped with a 16-code combination. To prevent possible interference from or to other remote units, such as garage door openers, car alarms, or security systems, change the combination code but be sure that the code on both the remote control and receiver in the fan are the same.

Ƒ Install the 12-Volt battery (included) into the battery

compartment of the remote control (J).

Ƒ Press the desired button on the remote control (J) to operate

the fan:

Ƒ “3” button: Press to set the fan speed to high. Ƒ “2” button: Press to set the fan speed to medium. Ƒ “1” button: Press to set the fan speed to low. Ƒ Power button (UU): Press to turn the fan off or on. Ƒ Light button (VV): Press and release immediately to turn

the light on or off. Press and hold to dim or brighten the bulbs to the desired level and then release (the dimmer function is for Tungsten bulbs only).

WARNING: Make sure the power is off before cleaning your fan.

Ƒ Because of the fan’s natural movement, some connections may become loose. Check the support connections, brackets, and blade

attachments twice a year. Make sure they are secure. It is not necessary to remove the fan from the ceiling.

Ƒ Clean your fan periodically to help maintain its new appearance over the years. Do not use water when cleaning, as this could damage

the motor, or the wood, or possibly cause an electrical shock. Use only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the nish. The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing.

Ƒ You can apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood for additional protection and enhanced beauty. Cover small scratches with a

light application of shoe polish.

Ƒ You do not need to oil your fan. The motor has permanently-lubricated sealed ball bearings.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution

The fan will not start. Ƒ Check the main and branch circuit fuses or breakers.

Ƒ Check to make sure the wall switch is in the on position, if applicable. Ƒ Check the line wire connections to the fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing. Ƒ Check the battery in the remote control. Ƒ Ensure you are in the normal range of 10-20 feet. Ƒ Ensure the dip switch settings are the same on the remote control and receiver. Ƒ Remember to turn off the power supply before checking the dip switches settings.

The fan is noisy. Ƒ Ensure all motor housing screws are snug.

Ƒ Ensure the screws that attach the fan blade bracket to the motor hub are tight. Ƒ Ensure the wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing. Ƒ Allow a 24-hour “breaking in” period. Most noises associated with a new fan disappear during this time. Ƒ If you are using the ceiling fan light kit, ensure the screws securing the glassware are tight. Check that the light

bulbs are also secure.

Ƒ Ensure the canopy is a short distance from the ceiling. It should not touch the ceiling. Ƒ Ensure your outlet box is secure and rubber isolator pads were used between the mounting plate and outlet box.

The fan wobbles. Ƒ Check that all blade and blade arm screws are secure.

Ƒ Most fan wobble problems are caused when blade levels are unequal. Check this level by selecting a point on

the ceiling above the tip of one of the blades. Measure from a point on the center of the blade to the point on the ceiling. Rotate the fan until the next blade is positioned for measurement, and measure from the same point on each blade to the ceiling. Repeat for each blade. Any measurement deviation should be within 1/8 in. Run the fan for ten minutes. If the fan continues to wobble please contact Hampton Bay Customer Service and a balancing kit will be sent to you at no charge.

OPCIONES DE MONTAJE

ADVERTENCIA: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, descarga eléctrica u otras lesiones, instala sólo en una caja eléctrica clasicada como “apropiada para sostener ventiladores de

15.9 kg o menos”, y usa sólo los tornillos incluidos con la caja eléctrica. Las cajas eléctricas utilizadas comúnmente para el soporte de artículos de iluminación pueden no servir como soporte de ventilador, y tal vez deban reemplazarse. En caso de duda, consulta a un electricista calicado.

Si tu ventilador de techo no tiene una caja de montaje aprobada por UL, instala una siguiendo las instrucciones a continuación:

Ƒ Desconecta la energía retirando los fusibles o apagando

los cortacircuitos.

Ƒ Asegura la caja eléctrica directamente a la estructura

del edicio. Usa sujetadores y materiales apropiados. La caja eléctrica y su soporte deben poder sostener el peso completo del ventilador en movimiento (al menos 15.9 kg). No uses una caja eléctrica de plástico.

Ensamblaje – Montaje estándar en techo

Preparación para montaje estándar

Ƒ Retira el aro de la cubierta (L) de la cubierta (C), girando el

aro de la cubierta (L) a la derecha hasta destrabarlo.

Ƒ Retira el soporte de montaje deslizante (A) de la cubierta (C)

aojando los cuatro tornillos (SS) en la parte superior de la cubierta (C).

Ƒ Quita los dos tornillos sin ranura (SS) y aoja los tornillos

ranurados (SS). Esto te permitirá retirar el soporte de montaje deslizante (A).

Disposición de los cables

Ƒ Asegúrate de que las ranuras estén en la parte superior

y pasa los cables existentes sobre la parte superior del ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D) a través de la cubierta (C) y el aro de la cubierta (L) y luego a través del ensamblaje del tubo bajante/bola (B).

Ƒ Coloca la junta de goma (FF) sobre los tres tornillos restantes,

pasa los cables que salen de la parte superior del ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D) a través de la cubierta (C) y el aro de la cubierta (L) (asegúrate de que las aberturas de las ranuras estén hacia arriba) y luego coloca la cubierta (C) sobre el collarín de la parte superior del ensamblaje del motor (D).

Ƒ Pasa los cables de suministro de 120 Voltios a través del oricio

Ƒ Instala el soporte de montaje deslizante (A) sobre la caja eléctrica

deslizando el soporte de montaje (A) sobre los dos tornillos (TT) suministrados con la caja eléctrica. Si es necesario, usa arandelas niveladoras (no incluidas) entre el soporte de montaje deslizante (A) y la caja eléctrica. El lado plano del soporte de montaje deslizante (A) esté hacia la caja eléctrica, como se muestra.

Ƒ Ajusta rmemente los dos tornillos de montaje (TT).

Cómo colgar el ventilador

ADVERTENCIA: El gancho debe usarse para sostener el ventilador solamente mientras se hacen las conexiones eléctricas. Si no se cuelga como se muestra puede romperse el gancho, y el ventilador se caerá. El gancho debe pasar de adentro hacia fuera de la cubierta (C).

Ƒ Con cuidado alza el ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D) hasta

el soporte de montaje deslizante (A).

Ƒ Coloca la bola de soporte del ensamblaje del tubo bajante/bola

(B) en el soporte de montaje deslizante (A). Asegúrate de que la pestaña sobre el soporte de montaje deslizante (A) encaje bien dentro de la ranura de la bola de soporte. Si usas el montaje "cerca del techo", cuelga el ventilador del gancho suministrado usando uno de los oricios en el borde exterior de la cubierta de techo (C).

Cómo instalar el receptor

ADVERTENCIA: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio o de descarga eléctrica, recuerda desconectar la electricidad. El cableado eléctrico debe cumplir todos los requisitos de códigos eléctricos nacionales y locales. Las fuentes de energía y el ventilador deben ser de 110/120 voltios y 60 Hz. No utilices este producto con ningún control variable de pared. Conectar el cableado de manera incorrecta dañará este receptor.

PRECAUCIÓN: No instalar en lugares húmedos ni sumergir en agua (sólo para uso en interiores). No hales ni cortes los cables. No dejes caer ni golpees la unidad.

Cómo congurar el código del control remoto y el receptor

NOTA: Las frecuencias del receptor y control remoto han sido

preconguradas en la fábrica. Antes de instalar el receptor, asegúrate de que los interruptores en el transmisor y del control remoto estén congurados en la misma frecuencia. Los interruptores en el transmisor del control remoto están ubicados dentro del compartimento de la batería.

NOTA: La batería se debilitará con el tiempo y deberá ser

reemplazada antes de que se produzca alguna fuga ya que esto dañará el control remoto. Desecha las baterías adecuadamente, y mantenlas fuera del alcance de los niños.

Ƒ Ubica los cables de suministro en el lado izquierdo del

soporte de montaje deslizante (A), y coloca los cables del ventilador en el lado derecho.

Ƒ Inserta parcialmente el receptor (K) (con el lado plano hacia

arriba), en el soporte de montaje deslizante (A) hasta que un extremo descanse sobre el ensamblaje del tubo bajante/bola (B).

Ƒ Quita la cubierta de la batería del control remoto (J) presionando

con rmeza en la echa y deslizando la cubierta hasta soltarla.

Ƒ Desliza los interruptores de código a tu elección hacia arriba o

hacia abajo. Las conguraciones de fábrica son hacia arriba.

Ƒ Desliza los interruptores del receptor (K) hacia la misma posición

que elegiste para el control remoto (J).

Ƒ Coloca de nuevo la cubierta en el control remoto (J).

Cómo hacer las conexiones eléctricas

ADVERTENCIA: Cada conector de cables provisto con este ventilador está diseñado para aceptar cables domésticos de un calibre máximo de 12 y dos cables del ventilador. Si tienes un cableado superior a calibre 12, o más de un cable para conectar al ventilador, consulta a un electricista para conocer el tamaño adecuado de los conectores a usar.

PRECAUCIÓN: Si los cables de suministro son de color diferente, un electricista certicado deberá instalar esta unidad.

IMPORTANTE: Usa los conectores de plástico para cable (CC)

incluidos con tu ventilador. Amarra los conectores con cinta eléctrica y asegúrate de que no haya cables o conexiones sueltas.

Ƒ Conecta el conductor a tierra del cable de 120 Voltios (puede

ser un cable desnudo o un cable con aislante verde) al cable terminal a tierra verde (II) del ventilador usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Conecta el cable blanco del motor del ventilador (LL) al cable

blanco (LL) del receptor (K) usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Conecta el cable negro del motor del ventilador (KK) al cable

negro (KK) del receptor (K) usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Conecta el cable azul del motor del ventilador (JJ) al cable

azul (JJ) del receptor (K) usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Conecta el cable rojo (OO) del receptor (K) al cable negro de

suministro de energía (positivo) (KK) usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Conecta el cable blanco (LL) del receptor (K) al cable blanco

de suministro (neutro) (LL) usando un conector de cables plástico (CC).

Ƒ Después de conectar los cables, sepáralos de manera que los

cables verde (II) y blanco (LL) queden de un lado de la caja eléctrica (MM) y el cable negro (KK) del otro lado.

ADVERTENCIA: Cuando uses el ensamblaje del tubo bajante/bola estándar, la pestaña en el aro en la parte inferior del soporte de montaje debe encajar en la ranura de la bola de soporte. Si la pestaña no se asienta correctamente en la ranura, se puede dañar el cableado.

Ƒ Alinea las ranuras de cierre de la cubierta (C) con los dos

tornillos (SS) del soporte de montaje deslizante (A). Alza para enganchar las ranuras y gira de izquierda a derecha para asegurar la cubierta (C) en su sitio.

Ƒ Ajusta rmemente los dos tornillos de montaje (SS). Ƒ Instala los dos tornillos de montaje (SS) restantes en los

oricios de la cubierta (C) y aprieta rmemente.

Ƒ Instala el aro (L) de la cubierta decorativa alineando las ranuras del

aro con los tornillos en la cubierta (C). Rota el aro de la cubierta (L) en sentido contrario a las manecillas del reloj para jarlo.

Ƒ Con cuidado desengancha el ventilador del soporte de montaje

(A) y alinea las ranuras de cierre de la cubierta (C) con los dos tornillos (SS) en el soporte de montaje deslizante (A). Alza para enganchar las ranuras y gira de izquierda a derecha para asegurar la cubierta (C) en su sitio.

Ƒ Ajusta con rmeza los dos tornillos de montaje (SS). Ƒ Instala los dos tornillos de montaje (SS) restantes en los

oricios de la cubierta (C) y aprieta rmemente.

Ƒ Instala el aro (L) de la cubierta decorativa alineando las ranuras del

aro con los tornillos en la cubierta (C). Rota el aro de la cubierta (L) en sentido contrario a las manecillas del reloj para jarlo.

Cómo montar los soportes de las

aspas al motor

NOTA: Tu ventilador cuenta con avances novedosos para facilitar y acelerar la instalación de las aspas.

NOTA: Las aspas de tu ventilador son reversibles. Elige el acabado del aspa que mejor resalte tu decoración.

Ƒ Ajusta el soporte del aspa (G) al motor del ventilador (D)

insertando el poste de alineación dentro de la ranura de la parte inferior del motor del ventilador (D) y apretando los tornillos del soporte del aspa.

Ƒ Los tornillos del motor del ventilador están jados en el soporte

del aspa (G). Repite este procedimiento para los cuatro soportes de aspas restantes (G).

Cómo montar las aspas

Ƒ Monta las aspas del ventilador (F) al soporte del aspa (G) alineando

los tres oricios tipo ojo de cerradura en el aspa (F) con los tres postes de la parte superior de los soportes de las aspas (G).

Ƒ Sostén el aspa (F) con ambas manos cerca del soporte del aspa

(G) y presiona el aspa (F) hacia abajo con rmeza. Asegúrate de que los oricios tipo ojo de cerradura estén correctamente apoyados sobre los postes del soporte del aspa (G).

Ƒ Mientras sujetas el aspa (F) con ambas manos, desliza el aspa (F)

hacia el lado opuesto de la carcasa del motor del ventilador (D) con rmeza, hasta que el aspa (F) se acople al mecanismo de cierre. Asegúrate de que el mecanismo de cierre de acero en la parte posterior del soporte del aspa (G) se eleve y haga tope contra el borde del aspa (F), lo que indicará una conexión segura.

Ƒ Revisa la parte superior del soporte del aspa (G) para garantizar

que el mecanismo de cierre esté asegurado en su lugar.

Ƒ Repite este procedimiento para las aspas restantes (F).

Ensamblaje - Cómo instalar las lámparas

Cómo instalar el ensamblaje del

soporte del kit de luces

PRECAUCIÓN: Para disminuir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, desconecta el circuito de energía del ventilador antes de instalar la lámpara.

NOTA: Marca la posición del interruptor deslizante del ventilador. Este es el interruptor utilizado para cambiar la dirección de la rotación del ventilador. Para obtener más información sobre el funcionamiento de este interruptor, consulta Cómo usar el ventilador y el Control remoto en la página 12.

NOTA: Si necesitas una caja del interruptor adicional (o cubierta) para la opción sin luces, llama al 1-800-283-6513 (L-V 9:00 a.m. a 4:30 p.m. hora estándar del Este).

Ƒ Quita los tres tornillos (RR) en la cubierta de la caja del

interruptor del ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E).

Ƒ Conecta los cables del ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces

(E) a los cables de la caja del interruptor del ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D), usando los enchufes con adaptadores moldeados (azul con negro, blanco con blanco). Coloca con cuidado todos los cables y empalmes dentro de la caja del interruptor.

Ƒ Alinea los tres oricios de la cubierta de la caja del interruptor

del ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E) con los tres oricios en la caja del interruptor del ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D). Asegúrate de que la muesca en la cubierta de la caja del interruptor del soporte del kit de luces (E) permita que el interruptor de reversa en la caja del interruptor del ensamblaje del motor del ventilador (D) se mueva libremente. Coloca el ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E) y vuelve a colocar los tres tornillos (RR) que fueron retirados en el primer paso para asegurar el ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E).

Cómo instalar las pantallas de

vidrio y las bombillas

ADVERTENCIA: Espera que la pantalla de vidrio se enfríe completamente antes de retirarla.

ADVERTENCIA: Colocar bombillas de vataje incorrecto en el kit de luces hará que las luces se apaguen hasta que se instale las bombillas adecuadas. Apaga el kit de luces, reemplaza las bombillas con otras de vataje correcto y vuelve a encenderlo.

PRECAUCIÓN: Asegúrate de que la corriente esté cortada antes de montar o retirar las pantallas de vidrio.

NOTA: El uso de una bombilla CFL E12 eliminará la opción de regulación de intensidad, y puede causar parpadeos.

Ƒ Inserta la pantalla de vidrio (H) en el soporte de vidrio del

ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E) apretando con cuidado los tensores de acero (TT) sobre el portabombilla del ensamblaje del soporte del kit de luces (E).

Ƒ Con cuidado desliza la pantalla de vidrio (H) sobre los

tensores de acero (TT). Asegúrate de que la pantalla de vidrio (H) esté totalmente insertada en el portabombillas para una colocación segura. Repite este procedimiento para las pantallas de vidrio restantes (H).

Ƒ Con la electricidad apagada, instala las bombillas (I) en los

portabombillas.

Funcionamiento

CÓMO USAR EL VENTILADOR

Tu ventilador está equipado con un control remoto que controla la velocidad y las luces de tu nuevo ventilador de techo.

Las conguraciones de velocidad para clima cálido o frío dependen de factores como el tamaño de la habitación, la altura del techo, la cantidad de ventiladores y demás.

Este ventilador se envía desde la fábrica con el interruptor de reversa posicionado para hacer circular el aire hacia abajo. Si deseas dirigir la corriente de aire en la dirección contraria, apaga el ventilador y espera que las aspas se detengan, luego desliza el interruptor de reversa (ubicado en la caja del interruptor) hacia la dirección opuesta y vuelve a prender el ventilador. Las aspas del ventilador girarán en sentido contrario y revertirán la dirección de la corriente de aire.

NOTA: Espera a que se detenga el ventilador antes de invertir la

dirección de giro de las aspas.

Clima cálido - (Hacia adelante) Un ujo de aire hacia abajo crea un efecto r ef r es c an t e. E st o te p er m it e  ja r t u a i re ac on d ic io na d o e n u na co n g ur a ci ó n más alta sin afectar tu comodidad.

Clima frío - (Reversa) Un ujo de aire hacia arriba mueve el aire cálido lejos del techo. Esto te permite jar tu unidad de calefacción en una conguración más baja sin afectar tu comodidad.

USO DEL CONTROL REMOTO

NOTA: Este control remoto está equipado con una combinación de 16 códigos. Para evitar posibles interferencias desde o hacia otras unidades de control remoto como los abrepuertas de garajes, alarmas de autos o sistemas de seguridad, cambia el código de combinación pero asegúrate de que el código del control remoto y del receptor del ventilador sean iguales.

Ƒ Instala una batería de 12 V (incluida) en el compartimiento del

control remoto (J).

Ƒ Oprime el botón deseado del control remoto (J) para usar el

ventilador:

Ƒ Botón “3”: Oprime para establecer la velocidad del

ventilador en alta.

Ƒ Botón “2”: Oprime para establecer la velocidad del

ventilador en media.

Ƒ Botón “1”: Oprime para establecer la velocidad del

ventilador en baja.

Ƒ Botón de encendido (UU): Presiónalo para encender o

apagar el ventilador.

Ƒ Botón para luces (VV): Oprime y suelta el botón

inmediatamente para encender o apagar la luz. Mantén presionado para atenuar o aclarar la luz en la intensidad deseada y luego suéltalo (la función de regulación de intensidad es solo para bombillas de Tungsteno).

Mantenimiento y limpieza

ADVERTENCIA: Asegúrate de que la corriente esté apagada antes de limpiar el ventilador.

Ƒ Debido al movimiento natural del ventilador, algunas conexiones pueden aojarse. Revisa las conexiones de soporte, soportes y

accesorios de aspas dos veces al año. Verica que estén seguros. No es necesario desmontar el ventilador del techo.

Ƒ Limpia tu ventilador con frecuencia, para que luzca como nuevo con el paso de los años. No uses agua al limpiar, esto puede dañar el

motor o la madera, o causar descargas eléctricas. Usa solamente un cepillo suave o un paño sin pelusas para evitar arañar el acabado. El revestimiento está sellado con laca para minimizar la decoloración u opacidad.

Ƒ Puedes aplicar a la madera una na capa de pulimento para muebles para una mayor protección y belleza. Cubre los arañazos pequeños

con una leve aplicación de lustrador para calzado.

Ƒ No necesitas lubricar tu ventilador. El motor tiene cojinetes de bola sellados, permanentemente lubricados.

El ventilador oscila. Ƒ Verica que todas las aspas y tornillos de los brazos de aspas estén seguros.

Ƒ Verica los fusibles o disyuntores principales y secundarios. Ƒ Asegúrate de que el interruptor de pared esté en posición de encendido (ON), si corresponde. Ƒ Verica las conexiones de cables en línea al ventilador y conexiones de cables del interruptor en la caja de

interruptores.

Ƒ Revisa la batería del control remoto. Ƒ Asegúrate de estar en el rango normal de 3 a 6.1 m. Ƒ Asegúrate de que las conguraciones del interruptor en línea sean las mismas para el control remoto y el

receptor.

Ƒ Recuerda desconectar la electricidad antes de vericar las conguraciones de los interruptores en línea.

Ƒ Asegúrate de que los tornillos de la carcasa del motor estén ajustados. Ƒ Asegúrate de que los tornillos que unen el soporte del aspa al cuerpo del motor están bien ajustados. Ƒ Asegúrate de que las conexiones de tuerca de cable no choquen unas con otras o con la pared interior de la

caja del interruptor.

Ƒ Permite un período de 24 horas de “adaptación”. La mayoría de los ruidos asociados con un nuevo ventilador

desaparecen en ese período.

Ƒ Si usas el kit de luces de ventilador de techo, asegúrate de que los tornillos que sujetan el vidrio estén bien

colocados. Verica que las bombillas estén bien aseguradas.

Ƒ Asegúrate de que la cubierta esté a una corta distancia del techo. No debe tocar el techo. Ƒ Asegúrate de que tu caja eléctrica esté bien segura y las almohadillas aislantes de goma se hayan instalado

entre la placa de montaje y la caja eléctrica.

Ƒ La mayoría de los problemas de oscilación del ventilador se deben a que las aspas no están a un mismo nivel.

Verica este nivel seleccionando un punto en el techo sobre la punta de una de las aspas. Mide desde un punto en el centro de cada aspa a un punto en el techo. Gira el ventilador hasta que la próxima aspa quede posicionada para medir. Repite para cada aspa. Las desviaciones de la medición deben estar dentro de 0.31 cm. Enciende el ventilador durante diez minutos.
