KEYSTONE SLURRY CONTROL VALVES

Complete disassembly instructions for DN 250 - 600 Class 150, 300 and 600 control valves
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR VALVE
DISASSEMBLY
a) Use soft dolly’s for removing components.
DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1. Remove the valve from the pipeline. The
disc should be in the closed position.
2. Disconnect any electric or pneumatic lines
and remove the actuator.
3. Clean off all external deposits of slurry by
steam or grit blasting.
4. With disc (3) in the closed position, drill out
(from one side only), both disc pin drive
screws (5) (see pinning detail overleaf).
5. Remove disc pins (4) using a suitable sized
pin punch.
NOTE: Pins may be difficult to remove.
6. Remove end cover (25), stainless steel
backing disc (23) and teflon thrust
washer (24).
7. Remove gland follower nuts (19) to loosen
gland follower (12).
8. Rotate disc (3) into the open position.
9. Support disc (3), and drive the shaft (6) out
from the bottom end, together with the
gland follower (12).
10. Remove disc (3), disc end spacers (10), disc
springs (11) and O-rings.
11. Using a brass or aluminium dolly, knock
out (from inside), the upper and lower
inserts (7, 8) and the gland packing (13).
12. Withdraw the liner (2), which can be taken
out from either side. If tight push the liner
out with a hydraulic press.
13. Remove bearings (9), packing (13) and
O-rings and discard.
14. Thoroughly clean all components and
examine them for excessive wear or
damage, replacing/repairing where
necessary.
15. The valve is now ready for re-assembly.
