Situation:
It has been highlighted that the force-fit connector connecting the earth wire to the Power
Supply Unit can be fitted in two different ways .
By fitting the connector with the bottom (flat) side facing the large capacitor on the Power
Supply Unit, the ga p be twe en the m is m ax imised (approxim at ely 2mm ) .
By fitting the connector with the top (rounded) si de facing the large capacitor on the Power
Supply Unit, the ga p be twe en the m is m inim ise d ( a ppr oxi ma te ly 1. 2mm).
The gap should be ma ximised at all time s to e nsur e the unit meets the design and regulatory
requireme nts relating to ele ct ri cal insulation. This r equirement is su c h tha t the ga p should
be at least 1.71mm.
Solutio n / A ction:
During the replacement of the Power Supply Unit, the force-fit connector will be
disconnected.
Ensure that th is c onne c tor is r e -fitted such that th e bo ttom (flat) side of it is facing the larg e
capacitor on the Power Supply Unit.
