Old A10 (08753-60095) board causes points to be dropped from trace, if
U28 was manufactured by Fairchild.

Situation:
This Service note calls for the replacement of U28 on the A10 Board for all 8753es’s,
8753ET’s, with 087 53 -6 00 95 A10 bo ar d an d all 87 53 E’s, if U28 has a ve nd er mark i ng of
"F" which indicate it was manufactured by Fairchild. This action is in response to the
Network Analyzer dropping the lastfour points of a trace in certain setups.
Solution/Action:
Changing U28 on the old A10 board (08753-60095) with 5182-1298 eliminates the dropped
points problem. To test the solution put the Analyzer in Log sweep, with a IF bandwidth of
100 Hz, and then quickly change the number of points from 201 to 1601 using the Dial. If
the trace sweeps correctly and there are no dropped points, the action is complete. If there is
a problem, contact a customer support engineer at once.
