Information on upgrade kits for 8712ET and 8714ET Network Analyzers.

Situation:
Customer wants to add step attenuator option to 8712ET or 8714ET.
Solution / Action:
Order attenuator upgrade kit and install it. Part numbers are 8712ETU #1E1 and 8714ETU
#1E1 for 50 ohm units, 8712ETU #UNE and 8714ETU #UNE for 75 ohm units.
About three hours total are required to complete installation, 1.5 hours for installation of
the hardware and 1.5 hours for adjustments and performance testing. Detailed instructions
for hardware installation are included with the kit. The procedure and equipment for the
adjustments and performance tests are defined in the service manual (08714-90017). If the
customer is to perform the installation, the customer must have an ESD controlled environment and the test equipment required to perform the adjustments and performance tests.
Other upgrade kits are available for the 8712ET/ES and 8714ET/ES family of instruments.
None of these kits do not require hardware modification to the network analyzer, so are
easily installed by customers.
