Situation:
An intermittent cable assembly has been found to cause the display to exhibit some vertical jitter or jumping of about one character’s height. This jumping may be very intermittent and may only be apparent after the unit has been on for quite a while.
Solution/Action:
The defective cable is actually in the power supply of the 8711A. Because lower level
parts for this power supply are not available, the recommended repair is to replace the
entire power supply; order part number 5062-3437. All existing stock of power supplies
have been repaired. Only 8711A’s with serial numbers listed above may be affected; newer
units have been fixed.
