Situation:

When activating special 320 (service diagnostics), certain result codes sometimes appear
falsely in the instruments with serial numbers listed above. These codes may not appear us­ing Special Functions 170 through 172.

The problem may be with the diagnostic firmware’s set voltage limits, and not the instrument’s
performance.

Solution / Action:

A. The first recommended solution to this problem is a firmware upgrade (to version 4.2.2

or higher). If the firmware upgrade does not correct the problem, then replace the LF
Driver assembly (P/N 08665-61205). Do not order the LF Driver Upgrade Kit (P/N
08665-60328) if the firmware is already at version 4.2.2 or higher.

B. As a result of this firmware change, and the subsequent elimination of an old LF Driver

assembly (08665-61005), it is necessary to upgrade the firmware to version 4.2.2 or
higher when replacing the LF Driver. A universal LF Driver Upgrade Kit (P/N 08665-

60328) is available, which includes the new LF Driver assembly and firmware
upgrade kits.
