8657D Pi/4 DQPSK Signal Generator

Modification to correct DC offset at Buffer Output
Parts Required:
0699-1318 Chip Resistor, 1 Kohm, 1%
Situation:
8657Ds (with serial numbers noted above) require modification to correct the DC offset at
the Buffer Output of the Pi/4 DQPSK I/Q Modulator Assembly (lower unit). The DC offset measured at the Buffer Output should be 0 Vdc + 35mVdc/-10mVdc. A component on
the Pre-Mod Filter assembly (A18A1, P/N 11846-60102) is replaced to meet this specification.
Solution/Action:
Locate and replace A18A1R643 with part number noted above (see Figure 1). This component is a SMT chip resistor which requires appropriate tools and techniques for Surface
Mount Technology components.
