Situation:

Manufacturin g disc overed that the plas tic pa ck ag e for A9U1 pr e sc al ar (ve ndor pa rt number
MC12090P) that divides down the 600 MHz SAW R os ci lla tor to 300 MHz for use on the A25
Counterlock bo ard wil l not divide correctly and result in a 200 MHz output wit h 600 MHz mix­ing harmonics. The instru me nt di splay will read ’smplr unlock’. The problem ca n be reme died
by leaving the system on for 5 minutes to warm it up, and cycle the power. Once the chip is os­cillating cor rec tly, it is stable over te mperature as lo ng a s the pow e r isn’ t c yc le d again while it
is cold.

Solutio n / A ction:

Change out A9, Thir d Co nve r ter asse mbly. All field stoc k ha s be en pulle d to verify A9U1 is the
correct style of prescalar.
