Configuring the U1177A Remotely via Hyper Terminal

Configuring the U1177A Remotely via Hyper Terminal
Before you begin, ensure that the Bluetooth connection on your PC is enabled.
1 Set the U1177A slide switch to Setup.
2 From your PC, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Communication > Hyper Terminal.
3 Set your telnet program. You may choose to set Hyper
Terminal as your default telnet program.
4 Create a new connection for your U1177A. Go to File >
New Connection. In the Connection Description window, type U1177A and select the appropriate icon. Click OK.
5 The Connect To window will be displayed. Go to Connect
using and select a COM from the drop- down list. Click OK.
6 When the COM port settings are displayed, set the
parameters accordingly as below and click OK.
Bit = 9600
Data Bit = 8
Parity = None
Stop Bit = 1
Flow Control = None
7 Configure or retrieve information from your U1177A using
the AT command list shown in the following pages.

Information
This command controls the deep sleep timer. The U1177A will enter the deep sleep mode and turn off all the LEDs when there is no event activity. The timer will restart once an event interrupts the timer. The U1177A will wake up once the UART receives a proper signal.
Modifier Description
Set the deep sleep timer in seconds
xxxxx can be set in the range of 60 to 65535.

ATI0 Acquire the firmware version
The accuracy is ±2 seconds.
Setting G=0 will disable the timer
Default value = 900
Disable wake up from UART. Changes to this setting may lead to
a system reboot.
Enable wake up from UART. Changes to this setting may lead to
a system reboot.

PIN Code Setting
This command sets the baud rate for the COM port.
Modifier Description
ATL# Set the baud rate to 2400 bps
ATL0 Set the baud rate to 4800 bps
ATL1 (Default) Set the baud rate to 9600 bps
ATL2 Set the baud rate to 19200 bps
ATL? Acquire the current baud rate setting
This command sets the PIN number for your device. It can be used to set the PIN code authorization to Off. Default PIN = 1234.
Modifier Description
ATP=xxxx (Default)
ATP0 Turn off the PIN code authorization
ATP? Acquire the current PIN code setting
Set PIN number
xxxx can be set in the range of four numeric digits

Restore
This command reboots and restores the device to default settings.

ATZ0 Set the device to default settings
