PAT Adapter 1
PRE-USE CHECK
Before each use the adapter should be inspected to ensure that it is not
damaged in any way. If any damage is noticed the adapter should be withdrawn
from service and replaced.
1. Earth Bond
a. Connect one test lead, from your Continuity Tester, into the PAT Adapter 1
at the terminal marked (Earth Testing)
b. Plug the appliance to be tested into the three pin socket on the front of the
PAT Adapter 1
c. Connect your other lead from your Continuity Tester to the earthed position
on your appliance to be tested.
d. Conduct a test.
2. Insulation Class I
a. Connect one test probe, from your Insulation Tester, to the terminal
marked (Insulation Testing) on the PAT Adapter 1 and the other
to the terminal marked (Earth Testing)
b. Plug the appliance to be tested into the three pin socket on the front of the
PAT Adapter 1
c. Conduct a test.
3. Insulation Class II
a. Connect one test probe, from your Insulation Tester, to the terminal
marked (Insulation Testing) on the PAT Adapter 1
b. Plug the appliance to be tested into the three pin socket on the front of the
PAT Adapter 1
c. Connect the other lead from your Insulation Tester to the parts of your
appliance to be tested .
d. Conduct a test.
WARNING The PAT Adapter 1 must only be used for testing purposes
as described. It must never be directly connected to mains supply.
Cleaning Instructions
To clean the adapters wipe with a damp cloth. Use a mild soap (non detergent) if required. Take
care not to allow ingress of water into the electrical connections and allow to dry thoroughly
before reconnecting or use.
General
These adapters are maintenance free and contain no serviceable parts.
Environmental: Suitable for use between 5ºC & 40ºC <80% RH.
