KEWPROVE3
Proving Unit
Warning
Caution, risk of electric shock Instructions
must be followed to avoid danger to
persons.
his unit puts out a hazardous voltage and must only
be used by a qualified person and in accordance
with these instructions. If the equipment is not used
in the manner described the protection provided by
the equipment may be impaired.
Check that the instrument is free from moisture,
grease and dust before use.
Do not use if the unit is damaged in any way.
Do not use in wet conditions.
Clean only with a dry cloth don’t use solvents.
There are no user replaceable parts inside – do not
open other than for replacing batteries. To access
the batteries, undo the two screws at the rear of the
unit and remove cover.
Batteries should be disposed of with compliance to
current recycling and disposal regulations.
To ensure the safety of personnel working on electrical
circuits, BEST PRACTICE calls for the use of a proving
unit before working on dead circuits.
50 – 690V proving unit with just two terminals to •
test AC and DC voltage detectors
Fast response and works with low impedance •
voltage testers
Ramps down through voltage levels•
LED indication of functioning unit•
Instructions
1. Test your voltage detector on the proving unit, by placing the
probes into the front terminals.
2. The LED on the proving unit should light up and your voltage
detector should indicate voltage present.
3. Continue to hold your voltage detector in the front terminals of the
Kewprove 3 and the voltage level output will fall in steps to 400V,
230V, 100V & 50V to prove these levels of voltage.
4. Prove your voltage detector is still working by placing the probes
into the front terminals again.
5. The LED on the proving unit should light up and your voltage
detector should indicate voltage present.
6. Continue to hold your voltage detector in the front terminals of the
Kewprove 3 and the voltage level output will fall in steps to 400V,
230V, 100V & 50V to prove these levels of voltage.
