Burnt food can catch fire, so:

The wires in the cord are coloured
as follows:

cover MUST be refitted when
replacing the fuse. If the fuse cover

If a non-rewireable plug is cut off it
must be DESTROYED
IMMEDIATELY. An electric shock
hazard may arise if an unwanted
non-rewireable plug is inadvertently
inserted into a 13A socket outlet.

Wrap excess cord around the cord
storage device on the underside of
the toaster .

●

Operate the toaster once on a
medium setting without bread.

●

As with all new heating elements,
your toaster may emit a slight
burning smell when it is first
switched on. This is normal and not
a cause for concern.

to use your toaster

Plug the toaster into the power
s

upply and setting 3 will

automatically be displayed.

2 To change the setting press the

browning control button. Each time
the button is pressed the number
will change and scroll through
settings 1 to 6. Use a lower setting
for light toasting and for thin or dry
bread.

When subsequent toasting is
carried out the browning setting will
automatically default to the last

setting selected.
3 Insert the bread, muffins etc.
4 Press the start/cancel button which

will illuminate and the carriage will

automatically lower. During toasting

a countdown indicator will show the

progress of the toasting operation.
5 At completion the carriage will

automatically rise allowing the toast

to be removed. This will be followed

by an audible noise.

To stop toasting at any stage, press

the start/cancel button.

●

To toast frozen bread, press the

defrost button, then press the

start/cancel button. Both buttons

will illuminate.

●

To toast a single slice of bread,

place the bread in the ,

press the button then

press the start/cancel button. Both

buttons will illuminate.

●

To toast a single slice of frozen

bread, place the bread in the

, press both the defrost
and buttons, then press
the start/cancel button. All buttons
will illuminate.

●

To toast bagels, place the bagel
with its cut sides innermost. Press
the bagel button then press the
start/cancel button, both buttons
will illuminate.

Note when toasting bagels the

lements on the two inside slots
will toast with a higher heat than
those on the outside.

To toast frozen bagels press both
the defrost and bagel buttons,
then press the start/cancel button,
all buttons will illuminate.

●

If the bagel, or defrost
functions are accidentally selected,
press the button again to
de-select.

●

To save energy if no button is
pressed within 5 minutes of
connecting the toaster to the
power supply, the display will
automatically switch off. Press any
button to reactivate the display.

●

If the toaster mechanism jams, the
display will go off and all the lights
will flash. If this occurs, switch off
and unplug the toaster before
attempting to clear the jam.

hints on using your
toaster

●

Select a lower setting for light
browning or for dry bread.

●

Dry/stale bread toasts more
quickly than fresh bread and thinly
sliced bread toasts more quickly
than thickly sliced bread. Therefore
the browning control should be set
at a lower setting than usual.

●

For best results ensure that the
bread slices are of an even
thickness, freshness and size.

●

In order to achieve uniform
browning we recommend you wait
a minimum of 30 seconds
between each toasting so that the
control can automatically reset.
Alternatively select a lower setting
when additional toasting is carried
out.

Before cleaning, unplug your

oaster and let it cool down.

2 Slide out the crumb tray . Clean,

then replace. Do this regularly:
crumbs can smoke or even burn.

3 Wipe the outside of the toaster

with a damp cloth, then dry. Do
not use abrasives.
