OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: When switched on for the first time
a slight odour may be emitted for a few minutes. This is harmless and occurs with most appliances as slight traces of dust or lubricants may have collected during manufacture.
• Place the heater on a level surface in a stable upright position.
• Ensure power switches are in the “OFF” position and the thermostat is in the “*” (OFF) position.
• Unwind the power cord and plug your heater into a power socket (observing the instructions regarding positioning). Ensure the voltage on the specification plate is the same as in your home and the power cord is lying safely on the ground.
• Switch the heater ON by selecting:
KPE216-161 KPE216-163
No. of Fins 7 11
Left switch “ON” 600W 1000W
Right switch “ON” 900W 1400W
Both switches “ON” 1500W 2400W
• The heater operates when both the power switch and thermostat function are activated – the red indicator lights will turn on.
Positioning of the Heater
The heater should only be operated at a minimum distance of 1 metre from any wall or other object. Position the heater in order to optimize the air flow of the room.
Thermostat Function
• Set the desired room temperature by turning the thermostat dial clockwise to the desired position. You may adjust the temperature during use. To turn down the thermostat turn the dial anti-clockwise.
• To find the ideal thermostat setting for you, first set the knob to the maximum position. As soon as the temperature is comfortable, turn the thermostat down slowly, until the heater turns off. The heater will keep the surrounding air at this set temperature by switching on and off at intervals. The indicator light lights up when the heater is on.
• To switch the heater off fully, turn the power switches to “OFF” and the thermostat to “*”. The indicator lights will turn off also.

• Switch the heater on and set the thermostat to the desired temperature.
• Set the red switch to “ ” to activate the timer.
• The timer face consists of a moveable numbered band with moveable red pins and a fixed centre plate. When the moveable red pins are slid towards the centre plate the timer is OFF and when slid towards the outer numbered band the timer is ON. Each red pin corresponds to 15 minutes operation.
• Rotate the timer dial until the current time is opposite the pointer.
