KENT GEM Mineral RO™ Non-Electric Water Purifier it uses futuristic and state-of-the-art technology to provide pure & healthy drinking water.
KENT GEM Mineral RO™ Non-Electric Water Purifier uses the household water pressure to reverse a natural physical process called osmosis. Water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane having capillaries as small as 0.0001 microns, which removes dissolved impurities present in the water but retains essential natural minerals with its unique and patented TDS control mechanism. The clean drinking water goes to the faucet or storage tank, while the impurities are sent to the drain.
Before entering the RO membrane, raw water is made to pass through series of pre-filters. Starting with sediment filter (which removes physical and sediment impurities from the water), raw water is then made to pass through a carbon filter, which not only removes chlorine from the water supply, but also removes any other chemical and odour.
The post-carbon filter removes any taste or odour that may remain in the water after passing through the RO membrane. To prevent water wastage, an automatic shut-off valve closes whenever the RO faucet is closed or the storage tank is full.
KENT GEM Mineral RO™ Non-Electric Water Purifier has been designed to provide you with continuous supply of sparkling clear, delicious water for drinking, cooking and other uses. It not only makes food tastier, but also eliminates the need to buy bottled water, thus taking good care of your family needs.

Use Genuine Kent spares for performance
Do not try to service the purifier on your own. Instead, call service technician for help.
In case of not using the purifier for more than five days, kindly drain the storage tank.
Avoid sharp bends in the pipe fittings. Do not bend or block the reject water pipe.
Maximum distance between the water source and the purifier should not be more than 3 meters.
Make sure that the reject is not placed at a level higher than water pipe, otherwise rejected water may flow backwards into the purifier.
Make sure that the temperature of water entering the purifier is within
o o o o
10 C or 50 F - 40 C or 104 F.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and installation in damp areas.
Do not confine the purifier in a cabinet.

The Reverse Osmosis process, also known as hyper filtration, is the finest filtration process known till date. The process ensures removal of particles as small as ions from a solution. Reverse Osmosis uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove salts from potable/brackish water. In Reverse Osmosis, water pressure applied to the concentrated side forces the process of osmosis into reverse. Under enough pressure, treated water is ‘squeezed’ through the membrane from the concentrated side to the diluted side. Salts dissolved in water as charged ions are repelled by the RO membrane. The rejected impurities on the concentrated side of the membrane are washed away in a stream of waste water and thus, do not get accumulated as in a traditional filter.
Stage 01: Sediment Filter: The raw water is made to pass through 'Sediment Filter', which is the best
solution to remove impurities such as sand, silt and other sediments that you may or may not be able to see in the water supply.
Stage 02: Activated Carbon Block: The water, now free from all sediments is made to pass through
'Activated Carbon Block', which removes bad taste, odour, chemicals like chlorine, and other impurities.
Stage 03: Reverse Osmosis Membrane: The polished water, free from sediment and chemical impurities is
made to pass through RO membrane which removes dissolved solids such as calcium carbonate, chlorides, nitrates, etc. along with any organic matter.
Stage 04: UF Membrane: Acting as a safety mechanism, the Ultra Filtration or UF membrane removes high
molecular–weight substances, colloidal materials, organic and inorganic polymeric molecules including bacteria and viruses and cysts from water.
Stage 05: TDS Control: The unique and patented TDS control system ensures retention of essential natural
minerals [required for healthy body] in purified water.
Stage 06: Post Carbon: Cast out of high quality activated carbon, the filter enhances the taste of purified
water.
Automatic Shut-off Valve Assembly:
To conserve water, KENT GEM Mineral RO™ Non-Electric has an automatic shut-off valve system. When the storage tank is filled to the capacity and the RO faucet is closed, pressure closes the shut-off valve to stop the flow to drain. After some water is drawn and when the pressure in the system drops, the shut-off valve opens to allow water to flow again.
Ultra Filtration is a separation process that uses membranes with pore size in the range of 0.1 to
0.01 micron. UF membrane removes high molecular-weight substances, colloidal materials, organic and inorganic polymeric molecules including bacteria and viruses. Low applied pressure is sufficient to achieve high flux rates from an ultra-filtration membrane.

• Wait till the storage tank fully fills up. ** • Turn on the water supply.
• Turn off the water supply. • The purifier is ready to use.
• Open the tap or faucet and drain the tank in
Rejected water has high concentration of salts and usually goes down the drain, but if required, can be used for gardening purposes. Its high concentration of salts and minerals accelerate plant growth. Rejected water can also be used for cleaning purposes, i.e. utensils cleaning, mopping, etc.
.Pressure Testing & Purging
1. Check all tubes to ensure that there are no obstructions.
2. Turn on the faucet.
3. Slowly turn on the main water supply and check for leaks.
4. It should take more than 5 minutes to purge air from the system. Once water starts flowing from the faucet, keep it on for 20 minutes.
5. After 20 minutes, turn faucet off.

Installation Procedure
4.
Connect one end of blue pipe to elbow fitting connector labeled as REJECT WATER and lead the other end to drain.
1.
Fasten the SS ball valve to the ¼ inch port of the 3-way connector.
2.
Attach threaded end of 3-way connector to raw water supply and plug-off the other end or connect to a tap.
3.
Now connect one end of white pipe to SS ball valve and other end to elbow fitting connector labeled as Raw Water, on the back side of purifier.
Use white pipe for raw water supply
5.
6.
Turn on the lever given on SS ball valve to initiate the water flow to the purifier.
Allow the filters to pre-soak in water for 2-3 minutes.
7. Installation is complete.
Note: • In case, you choose to place water purifier under the counter, install the faucet on the kitchen sink
or slab, connect one end of the white pipe to the faucet and the other end to the fitting connector labeled as ‘Faucet’ on the back side of the purifier
• If the water purifier is placed as ‘Table Top’, never remove the dead plug from the connector labeled as faucet
Use blue pipe for reject water

Note: Filters and membrane are consumables. Their replacement time depends upon the quality of raw water and water consumption. They are not covered under the warranty. However, if a filter chokes within six months and a membrane within a year, it will be cleaned/repaired/replaced free of cost. Changing the filters and system inspection is available on call. The treatment capacity of RO membrane will reduce with time due to clogging of pores of membranes.
“This reverse osmosis system contains a replaceable component critical to the efficiency of the system. Replacement of the reverse osmosis component should be with one of identical specifications as defined by the manufacturer, to ensure the same efficiency and contaminant reduction performance.”
