OPERATING YOUR TOASTER
1 Piace loasler on a dry, level, stable surface
2. Plug power cord Info a standard 120-V, 60 Hz AC-only 3-prong electrical outlet
3. The blue LCD digital dispiay{s) will illuiriinais and the toast shade setting will default to
the level at which il was last set
4 Turn the Toast Shade Selector knob to the desired setting As you turn the knob, ttie
shade level will appear In the LCD display, (rom 1 {Light) through 9 (Dark) For the (irsl
lime you toast, set the seieclor midway to 5, and adjust as desired for future toasting
On the four slice model, there are two Toast Shade Selectors, one for each side of the
toaster
5 Place bread slices or other item to ba toasted In the slots and press down the Toast
Control Lever until it clicks The Saif-Adjiisling Bread Guides will automatically adjust
to hold [he food in place, On the four slice model, there are two Toast Control Lavers,
one lor each side of the loaslar
The blue light around the Cancel button wi HiuminaiB when the Toast Corrtroi Lever
clicks in the down position, and will remain illuminated uni toasting is finished, or until
the Cancel button is pushed. On four slice model ¡here are two different Cancel
buttons, one for each side of Ihe toaster
6 if the food io ba toasted Is frozen, press the Defrost button after you have pushed down

stay illuminated until Ihe toasting is done, or the Cancel button Is pushed On the four
slice model toaster, there are two Defrost buttons, one for each side of the toaster.
7 When toasting is done, the Toast Control Laver will automatically pop up and toast can

В The Bagel button will toast bagels and English muffins crisp an the inner-facing aide,
and soft and warm on the outside. Place ihe cut side of the bagel or English rnuffin In
Ihe toaster with Ihe cui side toward the center of the toaster (Fig, 3) On the 4-sllce
modsi, there are two separate Bagel buitons, one for each side of Ihe toaster
Push down the Toast Control Lever until it clicks, then press the Bagel button The

place bread or other food to be reheated in the slots, push the Toast Control Lever down
until 11 clidtB, then press the Haheat button The Reheat buiton will lllumlnaie to show
that reheating is in progress, and will stay on urttil food is warm or until the Cancel button
is poshed
NOTE: If food becomes jarnmed or wedged In the toasier, the butlhin Auto Powar-Off
furtction will aulamatically shut the power olf UNPLUG the cord and move the Toast Control
Lever up and down a few times to raise the jammad food item, NEVER use metal utensils
to free iood

The Slida-Oul Crumb Thay Is located at the bottom elds of the Toaster.
Notes The 4*81108 modal has 2 crumb trays.
1. For ease in claarfing, grasp the Crumb Tray Handle and pull crumb trayis) all tha
way csamplelely out of tha toaster. Brush crumbs from the Trayjs) and. If necessary,
wipe with a clean, damp cteth,
2. ALWAYS dry the Tray(sj ihoroughfy before replacing In toaster. Whan replacing,
be sure to push firmly so the tray Is fully Inserted In the bottom of the toaster.
EXTERIOR
Wipe Toaster outer surfaces with a slightly dampened soft cloth or sponge and dry with
a cloth or paper towel. DO MOT use strong or abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch
the surface, and NEVER spray cleaners directly onto toasier.
