LoadMaster for HP ProLiant
1 Introduction
The KEMP LoadMaster load balancing solution works with the HP ProLiant series, enabling
customers to deploy full-feature, high-performance load balancers. This can reduce network
design complexity as well as increased performance. The HP ProLiant servers are flexible, high
performing and have enterprise-class uptime. The KEMP solution is designed to handle load
balancing for application-to-application connections for external/internet based connections to
web services.
This document describes the steps required to install the KEMP LoadMaster software on HP
ProLiant servers using DL320 and DL380 as examples.
1.1 Prerequisites
The following prerequisites are needed:
An HP ProLiant server
An ISO image with the LoadMaster software.
The ISO image can be downloaded from www.kemptechnologies.com.
For a standalone LoadMaster, one IP-address on an untagged LAN is required. Three IP-
addresses are required for a High Availability (HA) pair; one for each LoadMaster and one for
the shared IP address.
The boot order on the server should be configured as follows:
1. HDD
2. CDROM
