Indoor Insect Trap
MODEL MA06
OWNER’S MANUAL
GENERAL INFORMATION
The NOsquito Indoor Insect Trap will lure indoor flying insects with its special fluorescent ultraviolet (UV) light and capture them in a non-escapable catch-tray. Insects may be left in the catch-tray until they dehydrate and die or can be released outdoors. The unit is for indoor use only and can be used year round.
HOW TO USE YOUR NOSQUITO INDOOR TRAP
1. Unpack unit, save carton and packing materials for storage.
2. Position the Indoor Insect Trap at a height of about 3-6 feet from the floor. For best results, place unit in the darkest area of the room far from windows and other competing sources of UV light. The Indoor Insect Trap is effective when used intermittently to control various outbreaks but performs best when run continuously. Often insects will breed and “over-winter” or hibernate inside your home. Also during brief periods of warm weather, mosquito, fly and ladybug activity may increase.
3. Plug cord into an outlet or U.L. Listed extension cord as described in “IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS”.
4. To turn unit ON, slide the ON/OFF Lever (A) all the way to the right (see Fig. 1). The light and the fan will turn on and Inlet Valve (B) will open. In this position, the Indoor Insect Trap will lure and trap insects. NOTE: in the ON position, the Catch-tray (C) is locked cannot be removed.
5. To turn unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF Lever all the way to the left (see Fig. 1). The light and the fan will turn off and the Inlet Valve will be closed preventing the escape of live insects. In this position, the Catch-tray is unlocked and can be removed for emptying or cleaning.
6. To remove Catch-tray, ensure ON/OFF Lever is in the OFF position. Pull the Catch-tray straight out by slightly pushing in the Finger Grips (D) located on either side of the tray (see Fig 1).
7. To empty Catch-tray, pull the Snap Tab (E) at the back and separate the top and bottom (See Fig
2). Please use caution when emptying the tray; make sure the insects (especially stinging insects) are inactive. If you notice that beneficial insects have been captured, it is your choice to release them outdoors or let them dehydrate in the unit. Clean the Catch-tray as necessary by rinsing under running water and dry with a paper towel.
8. To reassemble Catch-tray, slide top and bottom together until Snap-Tab is engaged. Be sure ON/OFF Lever is in the OFF position and the Inlet Valve is closed. Slide Catchtray back into unit by aligning the bottom on the tracks until it snaps in place (See Fig 3).
BULB REPLACEMENT
For maximum effectiveness, replace the bulb (Model B04) every 1500/2000 hours of use (at least once a year) to maintain optimal UV attraction. Even though the bulb’s light may be visible to you, its ability to attract insects diminishes over time.
1. Unplug unit. (VERY IMPORTANT)
2. Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the cap screw in the center rim above the NOsquito logo. Lift lid (See Fig 1).
3. Twist bulb 90° (See Fig 2a) and pull upward until bulb is removed (See Fig 2b). Dispose of bulb properly.
4. Insert new bulb into both socket ends and twist 90° to lock (See Fig 3).
5. Close lid and replace cap screw.
6. For any questions or concerns regarding bulb replacement, please call Stinger Consumer Service at 1-800-477-0457.
