IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
DO NOT DESTROY
WARNING: Follow instructions carefully. Misuse can cause severe burns.
1. Do not apply the inner pack directly to the skin. Always use the cloth cover.
2. Test the temperature of product before using by applying to sensitive skin such as
the underside of the wrist.
3. Overheating of inner pack in the microwave can damage or destroy the product.
Do not exceed 1 minute or 4 increments of 15 seconds beyond recommended microwave time.
4. If any swelling of inner pack is observed while heating, immediately turn off the
microwave and wait for the swelling to go down before opening the oven door.
5. The material contained in the inner pack is non-toxic when used as directed. If the
inner pack is accidentally punctured, however, discontinue using the product. If the contents come in contact with the skin, wash with soap and water to remove. Soiled clothing may be laundered or dry-cleaned.
6. Be cautious when using product for people with sensitive skin, such as infants,
young children or older persons.
7. Persons with diabetes, circulatory problems, nerve damage, paralysis or insensitive
skin should use only as directed by a physician.
8. Consult your doctor before treating any serious injury or if pain persists. Do not
use product in conjunction with liniments, balms or lotions. Do not use heating pad after recent surgery unless directed by a physician.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Misuse can cause severe burns and void warranty. Carefully read the IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS on the inside front page.
Heat therapy relaxes muscles and relieves joint pain and soreness. By increasing blood flow to the injury area, heat therapy can help accelerate healing. Finally, heat can effectively warm and loosen stiff muscles before exercise.
Cold therapy can help decrease swelling due to sprains and strains when applied immediately after injury.
SmartTemp® advanced hot or cold technology maintains optimal therapeutic temperature for over 60 minutes.
SmartTemp provides relief from back, menstrual, arthritis and muscle pain. See Figures 3A-D, 4A-D, and 5A-C. The SmartTemp small and large pad models include an elastic strap to help hold the pad in place for therapy.
SoftHeat Back & Hip wrap*, as well as the Neck & Shoulder wrap, are specifically designed to contour to your body and hold the heating pad in place. See Figures 4A-D and 5A-C.
* Fits up to a 47" waist.
