COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why use moist heat therapy?
A: Moist heat therapy increases blood flow to the areas being treated,
bringing additional oxygen and helping provide temporary relief from pain.
The application of moist heat is especially useful in treating muscle spasms
from strain and tension. It also helps reduce pain in non-acute injuries such as
minor muscular stiffness, arthritis pain, some headaches, and back or neck pain.
Moist heat is believed to transfer the heat deeper and quicker into tissues than
ordinary dry heat.
