Introducing KATA
KATA designs, develops, and manufactures quality, state-of-the-art
protection solutions and carrying systems. KATAs products are designed
around the human frame. Its not enough that the equipment fits the
case, the case must also fit the user! In 1983, two friends, members of an
elite military unit, began exchanging ideas about how backpacks and military
equipment cases could be made more modular and ergonomic.
KATA established its reputation by outfitting Protection and Security
Special Forces with auxiliary cases, utility & protective vests and
backpacks. Tough, durable, yet remarkably lightweight, KATA
products are constructed to withstand rough treatment and harsh
conditions over long periods.

For the Professional Video Industry KATA has created a completely innovative
line of products for field production (ENG & EFP). The line is distributed and
supported worldwide by a network of dealers and distributors. In over 40
countries, we are there to support you wherever your work may take you.
Based on their own field experience, they went on to design a line of combatready gear. They named their company KATA. In 2005 Kata joined the Vitec
Group and under the Photographic Division the company has been expanding
and flourishing.

which is responsible for the entire line of Manfrotto bags worldwide.

Internal bindings cover the fabric-ends and outside seams are double folded to
eliminate unraveling. Carrying handles are sewn from the bottom of the bag, for
the greatest possible strength. Our silent YKK zippers are double seamed and usually
sewn on the inside of the fabric to hold them fast.

TST (Thermo-Shield-Technology) is a state-of-the-art solution
that provides the perfect protection level for digital equipment
while creating an extremely lightweight product.

Thermo Shield Technology
The outer surface of the TST is thermo-formed in a protective rib-shape construction (Patent
Pend.). It is made of Super Nylon - a Mil-Std, double cord, water and dust proof, high tenacity
and abrasion-resistance fabric
impact and shock protective while providing a comprehensive insulation against cold, heat and

which accepts either a quick-release hook or the strap itself. Either option

Medium Shoulder Cases
OC-82/84
The OC bags are designed to withstand hard use in any environment. Kata's TST
technology on the front of the bag and the honeycomb reinforced circumference
provide ultimate protection for the gear within.
The OC bag has two full sized compartments. The first is a shallow compartment
for laptop or paperwork. The second deep compartment is for the photographic
equipment. Both compartments will allow for a custom fit to meet your exact
requirements. The cases are supplied with ample modular dividers and if additional
division is necessary Katas Modi-Vers Kit is included.
A large external padded pocket for personal effects and an internal accessory
pocket panel will allow for additional storage solutions.Both cases come with
strong padded handles, a BSS shoulder strap and are Insertrolley compatible.
The OC-84 is supplied with a laptop case that can be used individually, features
two carrying handles for top and side carrying and also a connection system
for tripod or lighting stands.
OC-82 will fit 1-2 D/SLR bodies 3-4 lenses & accessories. Can also be used for
mattbox + filters, or as a Lighting Bag for a small lighting kit.
OC-84 will fit 2-4 D/SLR bodies with 6-8 lenses & accessories, or a Medium Format

The SB Reporter Shoulder Bags all come with the internal padding kits, dividers, and
removable reinforced bottom flooring (provided with the bags), so that you can
choose whether to use some, all or none, thus defining the rigidity and flexibility
levels of the case (if additional division is necessary Katas Modi-Vers Kits are
available). A special top securing strap will allow for volume reduction when the
bag is not packed to the maximum. Semi-rigid TST front pockets and large external
side pockets ensure ample storage solutions for any additional professional or
personal equipment, and the larger SB-907 even features a designated laptop case
which can also be used individually.
A triple opening system has been engineered to allow for any working eventuality:
1. The main double buckle closing flap allows full access to all the equipment at
once and is most convenient when loading and unloading the bag.
2. Quick One Pull top zippered flap allows for quick access to the working camera
at all times.
3. Two side zipper openings enable the quick draw of lenses, flash unit or other
accessories, without having to open the bag.
Carrying options include reinforced rigid handle, shoulder strap and an Insertrolley
(not included) can be attached using the waist belt.
The SB-902 & SB-904 are padded on the side that nestles against your body and
both feature a detachable waist belt for additional support that can also be used
to attach the bag to the Insertrolley. The zippers and openings are all rain protected
and an Elements Cover for the entire case is supplied for extreme climatic conditions.

Kata's Waist Shoulder Bags are sturdy and TST safeguarded cases that provide
rugged protection for the Digital professional photographer / videographer on
the go or when working in harsh conditions.
Ergonomically designed to allow you to shoot from the hip without taking the
case off your shoulder: Contoured shape for a closer to the body center of gravity;
2 DP Buckles ensure correct Case-Strap-Carrier angle; ergonomic Non-Slip
Shoulder strap; opening away from the body by a quick release buckle; 3D hip
pad with a removable concealed hip belt for additional support and weight
distribution can also be used as a connection point to Kata's Insertrolley.
The cases are supplied with Kata Modi-Vers dividers which allow the freedom
of setting up the large main compartment to suit each user's individual needs.
3 large pockets, 4 flat pockets and the tying loops, provide additional storage
solutions. If additional division is necessary Katas Modi-Vers Kits are available.
WS-604 will fit 2 digital SLR bodies, 2-4 lenses + accessories, or a Mini-DV
camcorder such as Canon GL2/XM2, Panasonic DVC30, Sony PDX10 and similar.
WS-606 will fit 2-4 Digital /SLR bodies, 6-10 lenses + accessories, or DV cam up

EXO-7/12
EXO-7 and EXO-12 are small shoulder bags which fit a variety of digital
equipment from a medium sized SLR with many accessories up to a Large SLR
with the essentials. The EXO-7 is the smaller version of the same case which
accommodates a digital SLR with mounted lens up to a 80 x 200 and
accessories.
In both, a back "service door" opens to a lower compartment that can hold
charger, batteries, and cables. If needed, the lower divider can be removed to
create a larger and deeper main compartment.
Specially designed pouches are included and can be attached or removed
from both ends of the bag.
The EXO cases come with an attachment system for a table top tripod.
The interior can be customized with Modi-Vers and Filter Sleeves.
KATAs BSS Shoulder Strap and a belt loop are included.
