Introducing KATA

KATA designs, develops, and manufactures quality, state-of-the­art protection solutions and carrying systems. KATAs products are
designed around the human frame. Its not enough that the
equipment fits the case, the case must also fit the user!

In 1983, two friends, members of an elite military unit, began exchanging
ideas about how backpacks and military equipment cases could be
made more modular and ergonomic. Based on their own field experience,
they went on to design a line of combat-ready gear. They named their
company KATA. In 2005 Kata joined the Vitec Group and under the
Photographic Division the company has been expanding and flourishing.

For many years KATA has been creating high-end products for
professionals around the world.

KATA established its reputation by outfitting Protection and Security
Special Forces with auxiliary cases, utility & protective vests and
backpacks. Tough, durable, yet remarkably lightweight, KATA products
are constructed to withstand rough treatment and harsh conditions

In 2004, KATA launched the Global Digital Collection (GDC) for the
Professional Digital Photographer and Videographer. The collection
includes carrying solutions specifically designed for delicate digital
equipment incorporating KATA's latest development - the unique TST
(Thermo-Shield-Technology).

manufacture sensitive equipment for field operation. KATA is involved
from the research to the development and design stage through
production. A prominent example of such an enterprise is the KATA ­MANFROTTO collaboration which is responsible for the entire line of
Manfrotto bags worldwide.

Internal bindings cover the fabric-ends and outside seams are double folded to
eliminate unraveling. Carrying handles are sewn from the bottom of the bag, for the
greatest possible strength. Our silent YKK zippers are double seamed and usually sewn
on the inside of the fabric to hold them fast.

Ergo-Tech = a seamless extension to your body. Katas collection
of consumer bags introduces new organic carrying solutions for
your personal day to day gear and your CAMERA+. A unique
combination of cutting edge technologies (Flexi-Shield),
materials(Elasto-Guard) and design have been joined together
to create this range of flexible dynamic bags that will adjust to
the ever changing shapes and movements of your body, while
also able to shift shape in order to fit the variable equipment
within. Designated safe guard zones feature internal modular
padded divisions and external Flexi-Shield reinforcement for
ultimate protection.

Elasto-Guard = a specially developed

material for the Ergo-Tech collection.
This is a lamination which consists
of the following 3 layers:

1. External layer - high resistance
stretchable knit/weave PES/PA.

2. Middle layer - 1 to 3 mm closed-cell
waterproof elastic foam padding.

3. Internal Layer - a soft, anti-scratch
knit/weave PES/PA lining or KATAs
"Yelloop" fabric which enables the
attachment of dividers, and provides
soft, anti-scratch cushioning.

Flexi-Shield = a technology

specially developed for the

This high frequency molded

flexible reinforcement appears

in the form of ridges on the

exterior of the safe guard zones

Sensitivity V Backpack is the perfect personal daypack that can be
used to carry and protect a 12 Laptop and Digicam or SLR + MP3/MP4
player + PDA + Phone and accessories.
Two front U shaped flaps access top and bottom compartments separately
and each functions as a flexible pocket. The main compartment is
divided in two with a zippered division that can be undone to create
one large space, and the ample internal and external pockets will store
all your personal gear in addition to your photographic equipment.

The Prism U Backpack is designed to meet the requirements of a daypack
but will also accommodate a 12 Laptop and a Digicam or SLR + MP3/MP4
player + PDA + Phone and accessories. The main compartment is divided
in two with a zippered division that can be undone to create one large
space.

In the upper section there are Elasto-Guard sleeves to secure
and protect delicate equipment (if not in use these just fold away to
allow for other gear) and an internal organizer panel for personal effects
that includes a small roaming media pocket. There is a flat flexible zip
pocket in the lower section.
