Kanguru Solutions guarantees that every KanguruZipper HD will be free from defects in
workmanship and materials for 1 year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply if,
in the judgment of Kanguru Solutions, the product fails due to damage from handling, accident,
abuse, misuse, or if it has been used in a manner not conforming to the product’s instructions,
has been modified in anyway, or the warranty labels have been removed. If the product proves
defective during this warranty period, call Kanguru Solutions Technical Support in order to obtain
a RMA required for service. When returning a product, mark the RMA number clearly on the
outside of the package, and include a copy of your original proof of purchase.
In no event shall Kanguru Solutions’ liability exceed the price paid for the product from direct,
indirect, special, incidental, or consequential software, or its documentation. Kanguru Solutions
offers no refunds for its products after 30 days of purchase. Kanguru Solutions makes no

2. Driver Installation
Depending on your operating system, you may need to install drivers before
using your KanguruZipper HD. Drivers are required for Win98/98SE. All other
supported operating systems do not require the installation of drivers.
Windows 98/98SE
1. Insert the Kanguru Drivers and Manuals mini CD included with this device.
2. Open the Kanguru Zipper HD folder and double-click the setup.exe file.
The following screen should appear.
3. Click on the HDD Driver button first. The following screen will appear.

4. Next, click on the USB Driver button. Click Yes to reboot your system
and complete the installation.
5. When your system has restarted insert the KanguruZipper HD into an
available USB port. A found new hardware wizard will recognize the
device and locate the drivers. You can now access the drive in My
Computer.
Windows 2000/ME/XP and Mac OS 9.0 and above
There is no need to install any drivers for these operating systems. To begin
using the drive, simply connect it to a PC via and available USB port and the
drive will appear in My Computer.
Linux Kernel 2.4.10 or later
Linux users will need to mount the device first, before using the Kanguru Zipper
HD.
1. Login as a super user.
2. Login to the root, and create a directory: /mnt/usbhd/#mkdir/mnt/usbhd
3. Plug in the Kanguru Zipper HD
4. Mount the file to /mnt/ushd/ by either of the following commands:
#mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbhd
-or#mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbhd
5. Use the following command to disconnect the drive:
#unmount/mnt/usbhd
