We ask that any electrical appliance that you use be operated in a sensible fashion with due care and attention placed on the following important operating instructions.
Important Safeguards For Kambrook Smarter Cooling DC Motor Pedestal Fan
• Carefully read all instructions before operati ng the fan for the firs t time and save for future reference.
• Remove a nd safely disca rd any packa ging material and promotional labels before using the fan for t he first t ime.
• To elim inate a ch oking h azard for you ng child ren, remove a nd safel y disca rd the protective cove r fitted to the power pl ug of this fan .
• Whe n unpac king th e fan, che ck to see you have recei ved all th e items li sted in the part s list, befo re discarding th e packag ing.
• Do not pl ace the fan near th e edge of a bench or table during operation. Ensure that the sur face is level, stab le, clea n and free of water and other substances.
• Alway s ensure the fan is p roperly a ssembled before use. Follow the instructions provided in this b ook.
• Thi s fan is intended for h ouseh old use o nly and not for co mmercial or ind ustri al use.
• Dis connect the power pl ug before dismantling, assembling or before cleaning and whe n the fan is n ot in use.
• Avoid tou ching m oving pa rts of th e fan.
• Never i nser t finger s, penc ils or a ny other object s throug h the gri lle gua rds whenever the power pl ug is connected, i n particula r while t he fan is sw itched on.
• The fa n must not b e used if the gril le guards are not faste ned correctly, accord ing to instructions provided in this book.
• Ens ure the fan b lade en gages fully onto t he shaf t. Please n ote this ma y require some force to ens ure it is fu lly engaged.
• The fa n must not b e used if the base i s not fasten ed correctly, accordi ng to the instructions provided in this book.
• Do not op erate in the presen ce of explo sives and/or flammable fumes or liquids.
• Never l eave the fa n unat tended w hen in us e.
• Do not un plug the fan by pul ling on t he cord.
• Never ca rry the fan by the co rd or yank to disco nnect fro m an outl et; instea d, grasp the cord and pu ll to disconnect. Do n ot pull the cord aroun d sharp edges or c orner s.
• All ow the fan bl ade to stop complete ly, always sw itch off a t the power o utlet, and then un plug th e fan from th e outlet:
- Before leavin g it unattended
- Before attempt ing to move the appli ance
- Before cleani ng and maintena nce unl ess otherwise specified in this booklet
- Immediate ly afte r use.
• To prevent da mage to th e fan, do not u se alkali ne cleaning ag ents when clean ing, uses a sof t cloth and mild d etergent.
• Do not pl ace anything o n top of the fa n when as sembled, whe n in use and when stored.
• Store t he unit o ut of reach of c hildre n.
• Keep th e fan clea n. Follow the clea ning instructions provided in this book.
Important safeguards for all electrical appliances
• Full y unwind t he power cord before use.
• Conn ect only to a or 240V power o utlet.
• Do not let t he power cord hang over th e edge of a be nch or tab le, touch h ot surfa ces or become knotted.
• To protect ag ainst electri c shock, do not immer se the powe r cord, power p lug or appli ance in water or any oth er liqu id or allow mo isture to c ome in con tact with the par t, unle ss it is recommen ded in th e cleaning instructions.
• The a pplia nce is not intended fo r use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of ex perie nce and kn owledge, unles s they have been given s upervisi on or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Chil dren should be s uper vised to e nsure th at they do not play with the appliance.
• It is rec ommen ded to regu larly i nspec t the appli ance. To avoid a hazard, do n ot use the app lianc e if power cord , power plu g or appli ance becomes da maged i n any way. Return th e entire ap pliance to the ne arest authorized Kambrook service centre for examina tion and / or repai r.
• Any maintenance other than cleaning shoul d be perf ormed at a n authorised Kambrook Service Centre.
• Thi s appliance is f or hous ehold u se only. Do not use th is app lianc e for anyt hing oth er than it s intende d use. Do not u se in movi ng vehicl es or boat s. Do not use outdoor s.

• The i nstall ation of a residu al curre nt device (safety swi tch) is recomm ended to p rovide additional safety protection when using electr ical ap plian ces. It i s advis able that a saf ety switc h with a rated re sidual operating current not exceeding 30mA be installed in the electrical circuit supplying the app lianc e. See your el ectrician for professional advice.
• Alway s turn the appli ance to the OFF posit ion, swi tch off at t he power outlet and unp lug at th e power out let when t he appli ance is not in use.
• Before c leaning, alwa ys turn the appl iance to the OFF po sitio n, switch o ff at the p ower outlet, un plug at the power out let and remove the powe r cord, if detachabl e, from the app lianc e and all ow all parts to coo l.
• Do not pl ace this appl iance on o r near a heat sou rce, such as hot plate, ove n or heaters.
• Posi tion the appli ance at a m inimu m distan ce of 20cm away from wa lls, cu rtains and othe r heat or ste am sensitive ma terials and provi de adeq uate spa ce above and on all sid es for air circula tion.
