IMPORTANT: Please retain your
instruction book for future use.
At Kambrook, we believe that safe performance is the first priority in any
consumer product, so that you, our valued customer can confidently
use and trust our products. We ask that any electrical appliance that
you use be operated in a sensible fashion with due care and attention
placed on the following important operating instructions.
• Do not operate the kettle on an inclined
plane. Do not operate the ket tle unles s the
element is fu lly im mersed. Do not move the
kettle while the kettle is switched on.
• Care should be taken when handling the
kettle during use, ensuring that the kettle
body and par ts are not touched as these
may still be hot due to residua l heat after
boiling. Always ensure to use the ket tle
handle when removing the kettle or pouring
water af ter kettle has boiled.
• To prevent damage to the kettle do not use
alkaline cleaning agents when cleaning, use
a soft cloth and mild d etergent.
• Do not place a load on the top of the glass
kettle or knock the glass on a hard surface or
drop the kettle. The gla ss may break. Always
take care cleaning or filling the kettle.
• Keep the kettle clean. Follow the
cleaning instructions provided in this
instruction book in Care, Cleaning and
Storage on page 9.
Important Safeguards For Your Kambrook Kettle
• Carefully read all instructions before
operating the Kambrook Kettle for the first
time and save for future reference.
• Remove and safely di scard any packa ging
material and promotional labels before using
the kettle for the first time.
• To eliminate a choking hazard for young
children, remove and safely discard the
protective cover fitted to the power plug of
this kettle.
• This kettle has been designed specifically for
the purpose of boiling drinki ng qualit y water
only. Under no circumstances s hould this
product be used to boil any other liquids or
foodstuffs.
• Do not place the kettle near the edge of a
bench or table during operation. Ensure that
the surface is level, clean and free of water
and other substances.
• Do not operate the kettle on a sink drain
board.
• Always ensure the kettle is properly
assembled before use. Follow the instructions
provided in this instruction book.
• The kettle must be used only with the power
base supplied.
• Do not touch hot surfa ces. Use the handle for
lifting and carrying the kettle.
• Do not place a nyth ing on top of the lid.
• Use caution when pouring water from the
kettle, as boiling water and steam will sca ld.
• Do not pour the water too quickly.
• Do not remove the ket tle from the power
base during operation. Ensure the kettle has
switched off after the water has boiled or
reached the selected temperature, before
removing the kettle from the power base.
If the ket tle is removed from the power
base during the boiling cycle the kettle will
automatically switch off.
• Do not use chemica ls, steel wool, or abrasive
cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle.
• The filter could become damaged with time,
please check regularly and replace if found
damaged.
• Ensure the kettle has cooled down before
attempting to clean the filter and appliance
• Always fill the kettle with water bet ween the
minimum (MIN) and maximum (MAX) marks
indicated on the gla ss kettle. Too little water
will result in the kettle switching ‘OFF’. Filling
above the maximum mark (MAX) may result
in boiling water splashing from the kettle.
• The lid should a lways be locked fi rmly i n
place in the closed position before and
during use.
• Do not open the lid during operation as this
may result in boiling water splashing from the
kettle. Pour all the hot water from the kettle
before opening the lid to refill
• When using the kettle, a void spillage of
water on the kettle base and connector as
this may cause damage to the kettle.
Important safeguards for all electrical
appliances
• Fully unwind the power cord before use.
• Connect only to 230V or 240V power outlet.
• Do not let the power cord hang over the
edge of a bench or table, touch hot surfaces
or become knotted.
• To protect against electric shock, do not
immerse the power cord, power pl ug or
appliance in water or any other liquid,
unless it is recommended in the cleaning
instructions.
• The appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience a nd knowledge,
unless they have been given super vision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance,
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Switch off the appliance and disconnect
from supply before changing accessories or
approaching par ts that move in use.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
• It is recommended to inspect the appliance
regularly. Do not use the appliance if the
power supply cord, plug, connector or
appliance becomes damaged i n any way.
Return the entire appliance to the nearest
authorised Kambrook Service Centre for
examination and/or repair.
• Any maintenance other than cleaning
should be performed at an authorised
Kambrook Service Centre.
• This appliance is for household use on ly.
Do not use this a ppliance for other than it s
intended use. Do not use in moving vehicles
or boats. Do not u se outdoors. Misuse may
cause injury.
• The insta llation of a residual current device
(safety switch) is recommended to provide
additional safety protection when using
electrical appliances. It is advisabl e
that a safety switch with a rated res idual
operating current not exceeding 30mA be
installed in the electrical circuit supplying
the applia nce. See your electrician for
professional advice
• Always turn the appliance to the OFF
position, switch off at the power outlet
and unplug at the power outlet when the
appliance is not in u se.
• Before clea ning, always turn the appliance
to the OFF position, switch of f at the power
outlet, unplug at the power outlet and
remove the power cord, if detachable, from
the applia nce and allow a ll parts to cool.
• Do not place this appliance on or near
a heat source, such as hot p late, oven
or heaters.
• Pos ition the appliance at a minimum
distance of 20cm away from walls, curtains
and other heat or steam sensitive materials
and provide adequate space above and on
all sides for air circulation.
