Using Your Kambrook Hotplate
Before first use
Remove any packaging material and
promotional labels before using your
hotplate for the first time.
It is recommended before first use to
wipe the hotplate surface with a soft
damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
WARNING: Fully unwind
power cord before use.
Do not allow power cord
to come in contact with
hotplate. Do not move
hotplate until it has
completely cooled down.
1. Place the hotplate on a dry, level
heat resistant surface.
2. Fully unwind the power cord and
insert power cord into a 230V or
240V power outlet and switch on
at the power outlet.
3. Place the cooking vessel to be
used, (e.g. saucepan or cooking
pot) in which food will be cooked,
onto the hotplate.
NOTE: To achieve optimum
cooking performance, ensure
the diameter of the cooking
vessel is no larger than the
diameter of the hotplate.
4. Place food to be cooked into
the cooking vessel. Depending
on ingredients being used or as
per recipe guidelines, ingredients
can be added prior or after
temperature setting selection.
Depending on food to be cooked
or as per recipe guidelines,
ingredients can be added prior
to hotplate reaching desired
temperature or once desired
temperature has been reached.
5. To turn the hotplate ON, select
the desired temperature setting
using the variable temperature
control dial. The temperature
setting can be adjusted between
settings 1 to MAX at any time
during the cooking process.
NOTE: The heating indicator
light will illuminate red when
the hotplate is preheating
and cooking. The heating light
may cycle on and off during
operation. This cycling is normal
and is an indication that the
correct temperature is being
maintained.
NOTE: When using the hotplate
for the first time, the hotplate
may give off vapours for up to
15 minutes. This is normal due
to the protective substances on
the heating elements. There is
no need for concern and the
vapours will dissipate with use.
6. Once all ingredients have been
cooked to the desired level
of doneness, turn the variable
temperature control dial to
the OFF position, then switch
off at the power outlet and
remove the power cord from
the power outlet.
WARNING: Do not operate
the hotplates without a
cooking vessel (pot or
pan) positioned on the
hotplate heating surface.

the hotplate surface. Remove
all cleaner residues and dry
thoroughly.
4. If necessary, the exterior
surrounding the hotplate may
be wiped over with a soft, damp
cloth using mild detergent.
Remove all detergent residues
and dry thoroughly.
5. Once the hotplate is completely
cool, cleaned and dry as above,
store the hotplate in a convenient
place on the bench top or in a
cupboard. Do not store anything
on top of the hotplate.
NOTE: The hotplates should be
completely cooled down before
storing.
NOTE: To minimise staining or
rusting marks on the hotplate
surface, do not leave any food
spillage and/or liquids on the
hotplate surface for a long
period of time.
NOTE: Do not use abrasive or
harsh cleaning solutions or metal
scourer pads, as continued use
will scratch the hotplate surface
making subsequent cleaning
more difficult.
