KAM KPM2000 DSP
PROFESSIONAL RACK MIXER
OVERVIEW
The Kam KPM2000DSP mixer is designed to give
the MOBILE DJ, KARAOKE ARTIST, PUBLIC HOUSE
AND SMALL CLUB INSTALLATION maximum
flexibility and features for minimum cost. This mixer
combines all the features required with a high level
of build quality and specification.
MIXER FEATURE DETAILS
MAIN POWER SWITCH
q
CHANNEL TRANSFORM SWITCHES - used to select
w
the input source assigned to each channel. Each
channel may only be assigned one input source at a
time.
CHANNEL GAIN CONTROLS - adjust the input level
e
for each channel allowing the user to reduce or
increase the sound level to compensate for quiet
recordings.
LEVEL INDICATORS - show a measurement of
r
whichever signal is selected via the LEVEL
INDICATOR SWITCH (5).
LEVEL INDICATOR SWITCH - when set to Left/Right
t
(L/R) the Level Indicators show a measurement of
the stereo Master Output signal. When set to
Cue/Pgm the Left Level Indicator shows a
measurement of any channels routed to the Cue
System via the PFL Buttons. When set to Cue/Pgm
the Right Level Indicator shows a measurement of
a combined mono Master Output signal.
CHANNEL EQUALISER CONTROLS - All of the
y
channels include a three-band EQ with a range of
+10dB to -30dB. Turning the controls in a counterclockwise direction will decrease the appropriate
Bass, Mid & High frequencies within a channel
signal. Turning the knob in a clockwise direction will
increase the appropriate Bass, Mid & High
frequencies within a channel signal.

BALANCED MASTER OUTPUTS - Left & Right line level balanced XLR sockets.
3&
OUTPUT ATTENUATOR - adjusts the overall output level of the KPM2000DSP so that install operatives
3*
can set a maximum signal output level that will not damage the PA system.
DIGITAL OUTPUT - S/PDIF coaxial digital audio output.
3(
FADER START OUTPUT SOCKETS - used to connect 3.5mm fader start cables from the mixer to the
4)
inputs of appropriately equipped CD players.
UNBALANCED MASTER OUT - Left & Right line level Unbalanced RCA connectors
4!
ZONE OUT - Left & Right line level Unbalanced RCA connectors.
4@
REC OUT - Left & Right line level Unbalanced RCA connectors. The Record Out level is dictated by the
4#
CHANNEL FADER LEVEL (8), it is not influenced by the MASTER VOLUME CONTROL (32).
DEDICATED LINE INPUTS

input suitable for use only with devices like CD, Video & Tape players which produce a ‘line level’ signal.
SWITCHABLE PHONO/AUX INPUTS - Channels 1, 2 & 3 each feature a stereo RCA input which can be
4%
switched between ‘line level’ and ‘phono level’ operation via the INPUT SELECTION SWITCHES (46).
PHONO inputs are designed for use only with turntables which produce a low voltage ‘phono’ level signal.
INPUT SELECTION SWITCHES - used to set signal input type for channels 1, 2 & 3.
4^
GROUND TERMINALS - Connect each of your turntable ground leads to either
4&
of the three ground terminals.
MICROPHONE INPUT 3 - accepts a 1/4” Jack and used to connect a microphone that can be assigned
4*
to channel 4 via its CHANNEL TRANSFORM SWITCH.
MICROPHONE INPUT 2 - accepts a 1/4” Jack and used to connect a microphone whose level is set via
4(
the MIC 2 VOLUME control.
You will find loads of useful information about cable types, connection procedures and advice on how to
get the best results from your Kam mixer at

CUE BUTTONS - used to route channels to the ‘Pre Fade

Listen’ or ‘Cue’ system. The inset LED will glow when a
channel is routed to the Cue system. Cue mode sends a
channels incoming signal to the headphones before its level
is set by the CHANNEL FADER (8). The listening level in
your headphones is adjusted by the CUE LEVEL VOLUME
CONTROL (12). Be sure the CUE MIXING CONTROL (11) is
turned to the “CUE” position to hear the selected channel
source. More than one channel can be routed to the Cue
system at the same time.

Crossfader has a very steep curve so acts like a switch.
When fully anti-clockwise it delivers a shallow curve so that
moving the Crossfader performs a much more gentle cross
fade for blending.

BEAT BUTTONS - The KPM2000DSP features an
2*
automatic tempo analysis feature that synchronises the
Effects to the tempo of your music. These buttons
determine the interval of Effect events in terms of beats.
For example pressing the 1/4 button sets echoes etc to
occur once every four beats, whereas the 1/2 button means
events will occur twice every beat.
TEMPO TAP - tap this button four times, in time with your
2(
music to override the automatic tempo calculation facility.
CROSSFADER EFFECTS SELECT BUTTON - The KPM2000DSP
3)
features three ‘Crossfade Effects’. These effects are linked
to the Crossfader so that when the Crossfader is in the
central position only the sound of music being processed by
these effects will be heard. This makes a creative
alternative to standard beat mixing. This switch has three
position; A. FADER means the movement of the Crossfader
controls whether the effects are heard. B. OFF means that
Crossfader Effects are inactive. C. AUTO means that the
CROSSFADER EFFECT SELECTION BUTTONS are used to
trigger the effects.
CROSSFADER EFFECTS SELECTION BUTTONS - the effect of

these buttons is dependant upon the setting of the
Crossfader Effects select button. When in FADER mode
they simply choose between the three available effects;
Echo, Zip & Roll. When in AUTO mode these buttons are
used to start/stop the Crossfader Effects.

an average output signal level of 0dB. Be sure this volume
control is always set to zero before turning the unit on.

anti clockwise both sides of the Master signal will be routed
through the Left connector of the BALANCED JACK (31)
and the RCA (32) MASTER OUTPUTS. When positioned fully
clockwise the signal is routed to the Right connectors.
When placed centrally a stereo mix of both sides of the
Master signal are spread across both Left & Right
