after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
Some appliances are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug
will fit into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
properly fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit,
contact a competent qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
For appliances equipped with a standard plug, simply insert the plug
into the outlet without paying attention to the way you plug it.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting
from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. The use
of an extension cord is not recommended.
However, if you make use of an extension cord, care is to be
exercised in their use:
• The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least
that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.
• The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will
not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over.
USE
• First check that the voltage marked on the product is the same
as your supply voltage.
• Select a suitable position close to an electric socket, on a dry and
even surface.
• Make sure the controls are in the OFF position (MIN). Plug in.

• The invisible protective coating must be removed before you can
use the appliance. To do this, set the controls to the maximum
setting and leave switched on for approximately 10 minutes.
Smoke will develop, make sure that the room is ventilated. Switch
off the cooking plates and allow to cool down completely. The
cooking plates are now ready for use.
• Always use flat-bottomed saucepans, which make good contact
with the cooking plates. The saucepan bases should ideally be of
the same size as the cooking plates.
• Select the temperature. The cooking plates have a range of
temperatures.
• Due to the cooking plates’ construction, residual heat will remain
after switching off. This may be used to keep food warm for a
short period.
• After use, turn temperature dial to "MIN" and unplug the
appliance from electrical outlet.
CLEANING AND CARE
• Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance to cool
down.
• Wipe with a moistened cloth.
• Do not clean with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as this
will damage the finish.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
