rating plate of the appliance before using the appliance.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles.
4. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or
the appliance in water or other liquid.
5. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or
near children.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit
into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not properly
fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a
competent qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
For appliances equipped with a standard plug, simply insert the plug
into the outlet without paying attention to the way you plug it.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting
from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least
that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.
• The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will
not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over.

• The appliance is fitted with a thermostat knob, which allows you
to select the ideal temperature for each plate set. The following
settings can be selected:
MIN OFF position
300° Keep warm function
340° Preheating
375° Sandwich
MAX Grill / Waffel
• Turn the thermostat knob (3) to the desired position. You may
season the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat. Since the
appliance has a non-stick coated surface, the use of butter or oil is
optional.
• Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is
NOT harmful.
• The ready light will go out when the cooking temperature is
reached. During use, this ready light will come on and off
regularly. This simply means that the thermostat is regulating the
appliance's temperature.
• WARNING: WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS IN USE, THE BAKING PLATES AS
WELL AS THE METAL PARTS OF THE TOP COVER WARM UP AND CAN
REACH A HIGH TEMPERATURE. DO NOT TOUCH THEM!
!! TO AVOID BURNS, WAIT UNTIL THE APPLIANCE HAS TOTALLY COOLED

between the plates; make sure that fingers do not come into
contact with it.
• Lock the two halves by pressing the lid down till it clicks.
• Your sandwich will be toasted in 3 to 5 min or longer to suit your

cooking.
• Put the heat selector knob in “MIN” position and unplug the

appliance.
• Slide the grease collecting tray (9) between the front feet of the
appliance so that it ends up below the grease draining hole. A
small tab located underneath the appliance will block it in
position. The tray is not fitted together with the appliance, so
make sure you do not lift the appliance while cooking.

unplug the appliance and leave it open to allow it to cool down.
