IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
2. Check that the voltage in your home corresponds to that stated on
the rating label of the appliance.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
4. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse base, cord,
plug, or the jug kettle in water or other liquids.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before putting on or taking off parts.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
12. To disconnect, put the switch in off position, then remove plug from
wall outlet.
13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
14. Scalding may occur if the lid of the jug kettle is removed during the
heating cycles.
15. Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with
inflammable materials such as curtains, textiles ..., when it is in use as they might catch fire.
16. When removing mineral deposit, only use special products
formulated for the removal of mineral deposit (decalcifying solutions). Never use ammonia or any other substance that might damage your health.
5
www.KALORIK.com

17. Do NOT use abrasive cleaners to clean the inside or outside of the
kettle, to avoid permanent damage to the surface.
18. Ensure that the kettle is properly positioned on the power base
before switching on.
19. Do NOT refill with water while the appliance is switched on.
20. Remove the kettle from power base before filling or pouring. If the
base becomes wet, unplug the kettle from the power outlet and switch off. After it has become dry, you may replace the kettle on the base, after ensuring that the kettle is switched off.
21. Use the kettle only with the power base supplied and vice versa.
22. Use on a hard, flat level surface only.
23. Do not place the base of your kettle in a metal tray. If water spills
over in to the tray, and a build-up occurs, it could become dangerous to touch.
24. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
25. Extreme caution must be used when handling or moving kettle and
pouring from the kettle containing boiling water.
26. Before pouring, wait until the kettle has stopped boiling and then
pour steadily. If the kettle is tipped too much, the lid may fall off or open.
27. Make sure that the lid and the filter are correctly and securely fitted
before switching on the appliance. Failure to do so will cause the kettle not to switch off, and boiling water might eject through the spout causing scalding or injuries.
28. When pouring a large quantity of hot water, pour slowly and do not
incline the kettle past the horizontal line to avoid burns and injuries.
29. When you are done using the appliance, switch it off and unplug
the power cord from the wall socket.
30. WARNING: a cordless kettle must never be filled on its base.
31. NEVER use the appliance to boil anything other than water.
32. NEVER use near a flame or hot surface.
33. NEVER put any part of the hand or body near the appliance when
switched on. Steam is invisible and will cause scalding or injury.
34. NEVER use the appliance if it has been dropped on the floor or
damaged in any way.

POLARIZED PLUG INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into the polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not properly fit into the outlet at first, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a competent qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least that of
the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.
The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Always remove the kettle from the power base (1) before filling it or
before any operation.
Open the lid (5) by pressing on the lid opening button (4) and fill the
tank with fresh water, paying attention not to fill under the minimum mark or above the maximum mark indicated on the water gauge of the kettle (8).
Close the lid by pressing it down until it you hear a click. Make sure it
closes correctly.
Make sure the spout filter is well in position, as else the auto-shut off
feature might not work.
Put the kettle onto the power base (1), plug into the wall socket,
and switch on using the digital control panel (3) on the handle.
To boil water: simply press on the “Boil” button (b) once, the water
gauge (8) will come on with a red color, indicating that the appliance is operating.
To heat water at a selected temperature, press the temperature
setting button (c) repeatedly, until selecting the temperature you want. The water gauge (8) will display a different color for each temperature setting: green (140oF / 60oC), blue (160oF / 70oC), yellow (175oF/80oC) and purple (195oF / 90oC). The corresponding LED light (a) will light on.
If the water gauge (8) does not come on, check if the kettle is
positioned correctly on the base, and check if the base is plugged in.
Do not open the lid while the water is heating or boiling.
The cordless water kettle will switch off automatically when the water
boils (100oC/212oF) or when the selected temperature has been reached. A “beep” will sound indicating the temperature has been reached and the kettle is switching off. However, you can stop the appliance anytime by pressing the off button (b) or by lifting the kettle from the power base.

For instant re-boiling, wait until water has cooled down and switch
on the appliance again.
The kettle will not re-boil until the kettle is not switched on again.
To keep the water warm: this convenient function keeps the water
always near boiling temperature. To select this function, keep the
“Boil/Off/Keep Warm” button (b) pressed for more than one second.
The water gauge (8) is blinking red, indicating the kettle is on and the keep warm function is activated. When the water boils, the kettle will beep and shut-off temporarily, and when the water temperature will have dropped down to a certain level, the kettle will start boiling the water again to keep it warm.
ATTENTION: to use the keep warm function, always make sure the water
level is above the “MIN” level line to make sure that the kettle will
properly shut off after the water has reached boiling point.
To stop the keep warm feature, simply switch the kettle off, select a
new temperature, or lift the kettle from its power base.
The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.
When pouring a large quantity of hot water, pour slowly and do not
incline the kettle past the horizontal line to avoid burns and injuries.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
This cordless water kettle is protected with an automatic safety
device, if accidentally switched on without water in the kettle.
If this happens, switch off the appliance by putting the switch in the
OFF position and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then pour in sufficient cold water to cover the element. This will reset the safety device.
The kettle may then be used as normal.
