IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed, including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Check that your voltage in your home corresponds to what is
stated on the appliance.

3. Do no touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

4. To protect against electrical shocks do not immerse cord, plugs,

5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near

15. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.

16. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance

17. A fire may occur if the cooking plate is covered or touching
flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the
like, when in operation.

18. To disconnect, turn any control to "MIN" or "OFF", then remove
plug from wall outlet.

3-PRONG PLUG INSTRUCTIONS

For your personal safety, this appliance must be grounded. This
appliance is equipped with a power supply cord having a 3-prong
grounding plug. To minimize possible shock hazard, the cord must be
plugged into a mating 3-prong, grounding type, wall receptacle,
grounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code
ANSI/NFPA 70 latest edition and all local codes and ordinances. If a
mating wall receptacle is not available, it is the personal
responsibility and obligation of the customer to have a properly
grounded, 3-prong, wall receptacle installed by a qualified
electrician.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting
from becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.

• The extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord.

• The electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least

that of the appliance. If the electrical rating of the extension
cord is too low, it could overheat and burn.

• The resulting extended cord should be arranged so that it will

not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Place on a flat, level, and heat-resistant surface.

• Make sure the temperature dials (4) are set in “MIN” position, and

that the power dial (1) is set to “OFF”, before plugging in.

• Turn on the power dial (1) at the back of the unit.

• The invisible protective coating must be removed before you can

use the appliance. To do this, set the controls to the maximum
setting and heat at the “MAX” level for approximately 10 minutes.
Smoke may develop, so make sure that the room is ventilated.

• Set the temperature dials to “MIN”, switch off the cooking plate
with the power dial and allow cooling down completely. The
cooking plates are now ready for use.

• Keep the surface of the heating elements (2) clean and dry.

USE

• Select a suitable position close to an electric socket, on a dry,
flat, level, and heat-resistant surface.

• Make sure both temperature dials (4) are in the “MIN” position,
and the power dial (1) is in the “OFF” position, before plugging in
the power outlet.

• Turn on the power dial (1) at the back of the unit.

• For maximum heat efficiency, always use flat-bottomed
cookware, which makes full contact with the cooking plates.
Ideally, the pan’s base should be of the same size as the cooking
plate that it is placed on.

IMPORTANT! Do not place food directly on the heating plates!

• Adjust the temperature to the desired level, for each zone. Each
cooking plate has a full range of temperature, between “MIN”
(Low heat) and “MAX” (High heat). The indicator light (3) will
illuminate at first, then blink on and off as the temperature is
reached and regulated by the thermostat.

CAUTION! The metal surfaces will become hot! Do not touch while in
use.

• After use, turn temperature dial back to "MIN", turn the power dial
back to “OFF”, and unplug the appliance from the electrical
outlet. Allow the unit to cool before moving or cleaning.

• Due to the cooking plate construction, residual heat will remain
after switching off. This may be used to keep food warm for a
short period. Be careful not to touch the heating elements until
they have completely cooled down!

HINTS AND TIPS

• Do not use with unstable pans or pans that do not have a flat
bottom.

• Never switch the unit on without a pan being placed on the
heating elements, as it may damage the appliance.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool
down completely.

• Wipe with a damp cloth. Dry after cleaning.

• Do not clean with abrasive scouring pads or steel wool as this will

damage the finish. Also, pieces can break off the pad and short
electrical parts, creating the possibility of electric shock.

• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

WARRANTY

We suggest that you complete and return the enclosed Product
Registration Card promptly to facilitate verification of the date of
original purchase. However, return of the Product Registration Card is
not a condition of these warranties. You can also fill out this warranty
card online, at the following address: www.KALORIK.com

This KALORIK product is warranted in the U.S.A. for 1 year from the
date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship. This
warranty is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of
purchase is required to obtain warranty performance.

During this period, if the KALORIK product, upon inspection by
KALORIK, is proven defective, it will be repaired or replaced, at
Kalorik’s option, without charge to the customer. If a replacement
product is sent, it will carry the remaining warranty of the original
product.

This warranty does not apply to any defect arising from a buyer's or
user's misuse of the product, negligence, failure to follow KALORIK
instructions noted in the user’s manual, use on current or voltage
other than that stamped on the product, wear and tear, alteration
or repair not authorized by KALORIK, or use for commercial purposes.
There is no warranty for glass parts, glass containers, filter basket,
blades and agitators, and accessories in general. There is also no
warranty for parts lost by the user.

ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS WITH RESPECT TO
THIS PRODUCT IS ALSO LIMITED TO THE ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
PERIOD.

Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty
lasts or do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This
warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.

If the appliance should become defective within the warranty
period and more than 30 days after date of purchase, do not return
the appliance to the store: often, our Customer Service
Representatives can help solve the problem without having the
product serviced. If servicing is needed, a Representative can
confirm whether the product is under warranty and direct you to the
nearest service location.

If this is the case, bring the product, or send it, postage prepaid by
the user (all Kalorik customers are responsible for the initial shipment

USO

• Coloque el aparato en una superficie plana, seca, y resistente al
calor, cerca de una toma de corriente.

• Compruebe que el termostato (4) se encuentra en la posición
mínima (MIN) y que el botón de encendido (1) esté en la

IMPORTANTE! No coloque la comida directamente sobre las placas

Para calentar las placas, gire el botón de termóstato hacia la
derecha hasta llevarlo a la posición deseada. Cada placa tiene
una amplia gama de temperaturas, entre “MIN” (poca
potencia) y “MAX” (potencia alta). La luz indicadora (3) se
iluminará al principio y luego se enciende y se apaga, como la
temperatura primero se alcanza y después es regulada por el
termostato

PRECAUCION! Las superficies metálicas se calientan. ¡No las toque

mientras están en uso!

LIMPIEZA

• Tras el empleo y antes de su limpieza, desenchufe el aparato y

CONSIGNES DE SECURITÉ

Pour utiliser un appareil électrique, des précautions élémentaires
sont à respecter, telles que celles énumérées ci-dessous :

1. LISEZ L’ENSEMBLE DES INSTRUCTIONS.

15. Ne placez pas l'appareil sur ou près d'un brûleur à gaz ou
électrique ou dans un four chaud.

Cet appareil est équipé d’une fiche et d’un cordon permettant la
mise à la terre. Dans le cas d’un court-circuit, la mise à la terre réduit
les risques de chocs électriques en fournissant une porte de sortie au
courant électrique. Cette fiche ne peut être introduite que d’une
seule façon dans la prise murale, qui doit être installée selon les
codes électriques en vigueur et mise à la terre. Si cette fiche ne
rentre pas correctement dans la prise, contactez un électricien
qualifié et reconnu. N’essayez jamais de modifier vous-même la

prise de terre ou la fiche de l’appareil.

CONSIGNES CONCERNANT LE CORDON

Le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil est un cordon de type court,
et ce afin de diminuer les risques d’accidents (chute si vous marchez
sur le cordon...). Vous pouvez toutefois utiliser une rallonge si

AVANT LA PREMIERE UTILISATION

• Faites chauffer les deux plaques de l’appareil pendant 10
minutes en position « MAX », afin de fixer le vernis de protection

UTILISATION

• Posez l'appareil sur une surface plane, sèche et résistante à la

température (4) trouver en position « MIN ». Branchez l'appareil
sur une prise de courant.

• Mettez l’appareil sous tension avec le commutateur à l’arrière de
l’appareil (1).

• Utilisez uniquement des casseroles ou poêles avec un fond plat,
conçues pour les plaques électriques. Idéalement, leur diamètre
devra être similaire à celui des plaques chauffantes, pour une
efficacité de chauffe optimale.

IMPORTANT ! Ne placez jamais d’aliments directement sur les
plaques chauffantes !

• Ajustez la température souhaitée pour chaque plaque de
cuisson, en utilisant les cadrans de réglage (4). Chaque plaque
dispose d’une gamme de températures étendue, entre « MIN »
(température basse) et « MAX » (température la plus haute). Le
témoin lumineux (3) s’allume, puis va s’allumer et s’éteindre
alternativement, une fois la température atteinte et régulée par
le thermostat propre à chaque plaque de cuisson.

ATTENTION ! Les surfaces métalliques deviennent brulantes ! Ne
touchez pas la plaque de cuisson pendant l’utilisation !

• Après utilisation, placez les cadrans de réglage de la
température sur « MIN », et éteignez l’appareil avec le cadran de
mise sous tension à l’arrière de l’appareil. Débranchez de la prise
murale. Attendez le refroidissement complet pour nettoyer ou
déplacer l’appareil.

• Les plaques restent chaudes même une fois éteintes. Vous
pouvez profiter de cette chaleur résiduelle pour garder les
