Thank you for purchasing the PDR400 digital voice recorder. Please print out this manual for easy reference. Unpack the unit and make sure all the accessories are put aside so they will not be lost. We recommend that you retain the original carton and packaging materials, should you transport or ship the unit in the future.

GETTING STARTED
Installing the Batteries
1. Remove the battery cover on the back of the unit.
2. Install two (2) R03/AAA batteries (not included).*
3. Replace the battery cover.
4. Battery indications shown on the LCD screen:

* Notes: Make sure the polarity (+/-) of the batteries matches the marks inside the battery compartment. Do not mix old and new batteries, carbon and alkaline. Remove batteries when the product is not in use for extended periods of time.
Power ON
Note: The PDR400 enters the date setting mode immediately upon powering ON for the first
time. See instructions for Setting the Date elsewhere in the manual.
Press and hold PLAY
until the red indicator light blinks to turn on the unit.
Power OFF
1. Press and hold PLAY until the LCD screen goes off to power OFF the unit
2. The unit will also power OFF automatically if left idle for sixty (60) seconds without pressing any button.
GETTING STARTED
Hold Function
To disable the controls, slide the HOLD switch and the word “HOLD” and the icon will flash briefly on the LCD screen.
To disable the Hold function, slide the HOLD switch and the icon disappears.
All buttons will return to their normal function.
Setting the Backlight
1. Press and hold for three (3) seconds to enter the menu.
2. Press or until “Backlight” is highlighted.
3. Press to enter.
4. Press VOL+ or VOL - to adjust the backlight time.
5. Press or press to return to the menu.
Setting the Contrast
1. Press and hold for three (3) seconds to enter the menu.
2. Press or until “Contrast” is highlighted.
3. Press to enter.
4. Press VOL+ or VOL - to adjust the contrast level.
5. Press or press to return to the menu.
Setting the Language
1. Press and hold for three (3) seconds to enter the menu.
2. Repeatedly press

Setting the Key Tone
