The revolutionary new dual codec makes it possible
to record in two different resolutions, such as HD
and SD, or two different HD formats, to separate
memory cards at the same time.

Wi-Fi and Network Connectivity,
FTP and Live Streaming

Featuring Wi-Fi and network connectivity,
remote viewing is possible, while video and
audio data can be delivered to the studio via
FTP. The latest firmware update also enables
live video streaming, even while recording.

Wide Media Format Compatibility and Support for Data-rich MXF Files

The GY-HM650 records HD or SD footage to SDHC / SDXC cards in a range of file formats,
including MP4 file format (XDCAM EX™ workflow-compatible), MOV (Final Cut Pro™
compatible), and AVCHD. The camera now also supports MXF files with rich descriptive
metadata, which can be sent to the camera via Wi-Fi.

Introducing the GY-HM650, a ProHD handheld news
camera equipped with dual codecs, built-in FTP and
Wi-Fi connectivity for shooting and delivering news
footage faster than ever. Thanks to a free firmware
update, the GY-HM650 now makes live video
streaming possible too; when equipped with
Wi-Fi, 4G or 3G connectivity via USB, the camera
can stream live video transmissions in the
background while continuing to record footage.
