IMPORTANT (for owners in the U.K.)

Connection to the mains supply in the United Kingdom.
DO NOT cut off the mains plug from this equipment.

If the plug fitted is not suitable for the power points in
your home or the cable is too short to reach a power
point, then obtain an appropriate safety approved
extension lead or consult your dealer.

BE SURE to replace the fuse only with an identical
approved type, as originally fitted, and to replace the
fuse cover.

If nontheless the mains plug is cut off ensure to remove
the fuse and dispose of the plug immediately, to avoid a
possible shock hazard by inadvertent connection to the
mains supply.
If this product is not supplied fitted with a mains plug
then follow the instructions given below:

DO NOT make any connection to the Larger Terminal
coded E or Green.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance
with the following code:

Blue to N (Neutral) or Black
Brown to L (Live) or Red

If these colours do not correspond with the terminal
identifications of your plug, connect as follows:
Blue wire to terminal coded N (Neutral) or coloured
black.
Brown wire to terminal coded L (Live) or coloured Red.
If in doubt — consult a competent electrician.

Notes on use (for the Battery Charger)

● Do not attempt to use this charger with anything other
than the provided batteries. Using them in
combination with other batteries may cause leakage,
overheating and explosion.

● Do not immerse the charger in water. Using
it in a humid area such as in a bathroom
may cause fire, electric shock and
overheating.

● Do not use the charger with batteries that have been
inserted with their
cause battery damage, leakage, overheating or explosion.

● For safety, be sure to disconnect the power
plug from the outlet before performing
maintenance or cleaning. Also, never plug in
or disconnect the power plug with a wet hand.

CAUTION

● Do not use the charger if the power plug is damaged or the plug is not completely connected to the
outlet, otherwise it may cause a short circuit, fire or electric shock.

● Be sure to use the charger with the proper voltage (AC 220 - 240 V). Using it with other voltage levels
may cause overheating, fire, electric shock and injury.

● Disconnect the power plug from the outlet when not charging.

CAUTION

● The provided rechargeable batteries are exclusively for use with JVC digital still cameras. Do not use them in
combination with other equipment.

● When connecting more than two batteries, be sure they were all charged simultaneously.

● When using new batteries, or batteries which have not been used for a long time, be sure to recharge them even if

they were only used for a short period of time.

Operation 0°C - 40°C
Storage –10°C - 30°C

Using the batteries outside the above temperature range
may result in declining efficiency and shorter battery
life.
In order to prevent battery leakage or rust, remove the
batteries from the products when you will not be using
them for a long time, and store them separately.

How to insert the batteries

You cannot charge the batteries when the positive
and negative polarities on each battery do not
correspond with those of the charger. Be sure to
insert batteries in their proper orientation as shown
in the figure.

How to charge

Connect the power cable to the main unit's AC
connector.

Insert the batteries as detailed in "How to insert the
batteries" in the instructions.

Insert the power plug into an electrical outlet
(AC220 – 240 V). The charge indicator lights and

begins charging the batteries.

● Do not load or eject batteries during recharging.

Four provided batteries can be charged in about 150
minutes.

● When charging is complete, the charge indicator
goes out.

Be sure to disconnect the power plug from the outlet
when charging is complete. Then remove the

batteries.

Notes:

● Periodically wipe off the positive and negative terminals of the charger and batteries with a dry cloth. Dirt build­up may prevent batteries from being charged.

● Batteries may become warm while charging, but this is not malfunction.

● Noise may appear on the radio or television during charging. In this case use an outlet separate from them.

● Avoid charging or discharging close to a heat source (such as in front of a heater or in direct sunlight).

● Charge batteries within the temperature range of 0°C - 40°C .

When the batteries being charged or the charger reaches a
temperature of more than 40 °C, the charge indicator blinks
slowly and enters a waiting mode. When the temperature
returns to proper levels, the indicator lights steadily and
automatically resumes charging.

Information regarding rechargeable batteries

This charger is exclusively for use with JVC digital still cameras.
Never use in combination with other equipment.

Discharging

● Batteries self-discharge while they are not in use. Be
sure to charge them regularly before use.

Operating temperature

● Batteries are chemical products. Efficiency may
change for a time even within the recommended
temperature range, but this is not malfunction.

Note:

New batteries or batteries that have not been used for a
long time (more than about one month) may not be
fully charged. This is not a malfunction, but is a
characteristic of the battery. Charge them two or three
times before using them for the first time or when they
have not been used for a long period.

Maintenance

In order not to damage the plastic, dirt should be removed using a cloth moistened with a neutral cleanser
or water and wiped off with a dry cloth .
Thick dirt accumulation on the positive and negative terminals of the charger should be wiped off with a
dry cloth.

Achtung

● Dieses Ladegerät nicht mit anderen als den mitgelieferten Batterien benutzen. Die Ladung dieser
Batterien zusammen mit anderen Batterien kann zum Auslaufen der Batterien, zu Überhitzung
und Explosion führen.

● Das Ladegerät nicht in Wasser tauchen. Durch die Verwendung in einer feuchten Umgebung,
z.B. in einem Badezimmer, kann Feuer, Stromschlag und Überhitzung entstehen.

● Die Batterien immer polrichtig in das Ladegerät einlegen. Vertauschen der Polarität kann zur
Zerstörung der Batterien, zu Überhitzung und Explosion führen.

● Zur Sicherheit den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen und eine Wartung oder Reinigung
des Geräts durchführen lassen. Niemals mit nassen Händen den Stecker einstecken oder

● Keine schweren Gegenstände auf das Ladegerät legen oder es in instabiler Lage, in feuchten Räumen
benutzen. Überhitzung, Auslaufen, Feuer oder Verletzungen können die Folge sein.

● Den Ladevorgang nicht über 48 Stunden ausdehnen. Die Batterien können sonst auslaufen, überhitzt
werden oder explodieren.

● Die Batterien immer in einem Temperaturbereich zwischen 0°C und 40°C laden. Sonst können die
Batterien auslaufen, überhitzt werden oder explodieren.

● Dieses Gerät nicht als Gleichstrom-Netzgerät benutzen. Dies kann Überhitzung und Feuer zur Folge
haben.
