1. Place the battery in the associated slot at the back of the camera.
2. Remove the lens cap.
3. Open the LCD-screen.
4. Set the ON/OFF switch to • (= RECORD).
5. Set the Mode switch to the Video setting (a movie camera icon will be displayed). The movie recording will be stored
on the internal hard drive.
Movies may be recorded in either 4:3 or 16:9 format (16:9 = Wide Screen).
6. Using the Navigation button, select the desired format.
Record movies you intend to play back on a 4:3 television in the 4:3 format. Try to record in one format only, as
combining the two formats or switching between them may result in problems during editing and burning.
7. Select the AUTO button. The camera will then automatically manage aspects such as lighting and focus.
8. Press the ‘rec/snap’ button to start recording the movie.
9. Press the ‘rec/snap’ button again to stop recording the movie.
10. Zooming in and out may be done using the zoom button. This button also doubles as volume control during
playback.
You can also make photos with this camera.
11. Set the Mode switch to the PHOTO setting (a photo camera icon will be displayed).
12. Press the ‘rec/snap’ button to take a photo. The images will be saved to the internal hard drive.

This a list in which you can categorise your own recorded videos according to your requirements. You can also select this list
when burning recordings onto dvd.
• Switch the on/off switch to ► (= play).
• Switch the mode switch to the video setting.
• Press menu.
• Select play list. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
• Select new list. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
• Select all scenes.
• Select the file you wish to add to the play list. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
• Select the insert point. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
• Repeat these steps if you wish to add other files.
• Press menu.
• Select “store and close”. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
Movie Playback:
13. Set the On/OFF switch to ► (= PLAY).
14. Set the mode switch to VIDEO.
15. Using the Navigation Button, select the file you want to play.
16. Press the Navigation Button to start Playing.
17. You may pause playback by pressing the Navigation Button again. In addition, the Navigation Button may also be
18. To return to the main menu whilst in PAUSE mode, press the INDEX button.
Deleting a Movie File:
19. In the INDEX screen, select the file you want to delete.
20. Press the Garbage Bin Button.
21. Using the Navigation Button, select ‘Delete’ and confirm this by pressing the Navigation Button again.
Displaying Photos:
22 Set the On/OFF switch to ► (= PLAY).
23. Set the Mode switch to the PHOTO setting (a Photo Camera icon will be displayed).
24. Using the Navigation Button, select the required file. Then press the Navigation Button to display the Photo.
Deleting Photo’s:
25. In the Index screen, select the photo you want to delete.
26. Press the Garbage Bin Button.
27. Using the Navigation Button, select ‘Delete’ and confirm this by pressing the Navigation Button again.
NOTE!: Always make sure you burn any material that you have recorded to DVD before returning the camera.

All material left on the camera, i.e. any recorded movies and photo’s, will be deleted after you have returned
the camera!!

DVD Burner Manual (for the JVC Movie Camera with in
Connecting the Burner to the Camera:
1. Ensure that the power switch on the burner is switched off.
2. Connect the associated power supply to the burner.
3. Connect the power cord to the power supply.
4. Plug the power cord into an appropriate socket.
5. Connect the associated USB cable to the burner’s USB connection.
6. Plug the Camera power supply cable into an appropriate socket.
7. Switch on the camera.
8. Switch on the burner. The power indication at the front of the burner should display a green light.
9. Connect the associated USB cable to the USB connector of the camera.
Burning DVDs:
10. Open the LCD screen.
11. The make dvd screen will be displayed.
12. Select an item. If you have prepared a play list, choose “select from play list”.
13. Then select the file you wish to copy via the navigation button.
14. Press the navigation button 2x to confirm your choice.
15. Press the navigation button right.
16. You will now enter the production list.
17. Select the file. Confirm by pressing the navigation button.
18. Insert the dvd in the burner (DVD-R or DVD-RW).
19. Select execute.
20. The process of burning the DVD will now start.
21. When the process is completed the words select ok will appear.
If you select all scenes, take the following steps.
22. Select the file you wish to copy using the navigation button.
23. Press the navigation button to confirm your choice.
24. Insert the dvd in the burner (DVD-R or DVD-RW).
25. Select execute.
26. The process of burning the dvd will now start.
27. When the process is completed the words select ok will appear.
28. If completed/change disk appears, you need to insert a new dvd. A start will then be made on the second
dvd. Select continue to carry on burning.
Play:
29. Select play dvd on the make dvd screen to check whether the dvd has been correctly burned.
