SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

The leads in the products are routed and dressed with ties, clamps, tubings, barriers and the like to be separated from live parts, high temperature parts, moving parts and/or sharp edges for the prevention of electric shock and fire hazard. When service is required, the original lead routing and dress should be observed, and it should be confirmed that they have been returned to normal, after re-assembling.

DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

Removing the rear cover

The rear cover can be removed by removing the 9 screws of

Removing the speaker box

  • 1. Remove the rear cover.
  • 2. The speaker can be removed by pulling it in the direction of arrow (a) shown in Fig.2.
  • The opposite side can be removed in the same way.

Removing the chassis

  • 1. Remove the rear cover.
  • 2. Remove both sides of the speaker box.
  • 3. Draw out the chassis in the direction of arrow (b).
  • Note) Before performing the conductivity check, make sure that the ground of the CRT is connected.

Removing the POWER BOARD

  • 1. Remove the chassis
  • The POWER BOARD can be removed by pulling a little bit in the direction of arrow © and lifting up while pressing claw ©.

Removing the terminal cover

  • 1. Remove the chassis.
  • The terminal cover can be removed by pressing claw (D) and lifting claw (C), then pulling it in the direction of arrow (d).

Removing the front chassis

The front chassis can be removed by opening claw (F) and lifting it in the direction of arrow (a).

Removing the upright board

  • 1. Remove the terminal cover.
  • 2. The upright board stands on the MAIN BOARD with the connector. Lift out the board for replacement.

Removing the speaker

  • 1. The speaker cover can be removed by removing the 4 screws of © shown in Fig.5.
  • The speaker grill can be removed by removing the 4 screws of ①.
  • Speaker 1 can be removed by removing the 4 screws of ①.
  • Speaker 2 can be removed by removing the 2 screws of ⊕.

Repair and inspection

1. Position the removed chassis as shown in Fig. 6

Note) When performing the conductivity check, make sure that the CRT ground wire is connected with the ground of the chassis and the CRT socket board

Concerning wire clamp, cable fastener and connector

  • 1. Clamp the wire securely.
  • 2. Do not remove the cable fastener for wire handling. If it is removed, make sure to replace it in the original position. (Insulating material must be used.)
  • 3. The removed connector must be inserted in the original place

Concerning the repair tool

MAIN BOARD and the upright board.

Before servicing

  • 1. The user can perform adjustments such as colour and brightness with this unit.
  • 2. Because of the above, when accepting a repair request, take a record of the contents shown in table 1 beforehand.
  • 3. Restore to the original status after completing repairs.
  • 4. For other User Positions (such as Tone Preset), talk to the user.

Repair for this machine can be difficult since the board stands on the MAIN BOARD. For this reason, an extension tool is provided which extends the distance between the

  5. Adjust so that the indicated value of the color analyzer is color temperature 9300°K (X = 0.271, Y = 0.295).

Voltage values and waveforms are measured by respectively receiving and displaying on the screen the colour bars signals of the PAI

[Voltage value display method]

The voltage values indicated within the circuits denote those obtained when PAL colour bar signals are received and displayed on the screen.

The measurements were made with each VR under the condition of factory preset. The figures of the signal circuits may be more or less different after adjustments so use the figures simply for reference.
