In this fully integrated appliance the controls are located on the top of the door. When selecting a programme, the door needs to be partially opened.

Audible signals have been introduced to help indicate which operations the dishwasher is performing.

Short "instruction accepted" signal

When any of the buttons are pressed: a short audible signal informs you that the machine has accepted the instruction given.

Long "programme run" signal

A continuous audible signal lasting about one second, heard only when you close the dishwasher door, informs you that the washing programme is starting.

Intermittent "end of programme" signal

An intermittent audible signal, lasting in total five seconds, informs you that the wash programme has ended.

If you wish to deactivate these audible signals, press both the "Eco dry" (Trocknen Aus) and "Delay start" (Startzeit) programme buttons together for about 3 seconds, until three short signals are heard.

2. Programme guide

This is a summary of the "Washing programmes" chart to help you select the correct programme.

3. Salt refill indicator light

This light illuminates when the salt container needs refilling. This light will remain on in a soft water area where salt is not required.

4. Rinse aid refill indicator light

This light illuminates when the rinse aid container needs refilling.

32

PCP26/1GB

7. "Eco dry" button (Trocknen Aus)

When this button is pressed, the last rinse is not heated, with a significant saving in electrical energy.

The corresponding pilot light comes on.

If the pilot light is not on, the water of the last rinse will always be heated up to 65°C.

8. "Delay start" button (Startzeit)

Allows the start of the programme to be delayed by a minimum of 1 hour, up to 9 hours.

How to set the "Delay start":

When the button is pressed, the number "0" appears in the display.

Press the button again to select the number of hours by which you wish to delay the programme start, up to a maximum of 9.

E.g.: if you have selected number "2", the wash programme will start in 2 hours time.

To cancel the delay start set, press the button until the number "0" appears.

Close the dishwasher door to start the countdown: a long audible signal (about one second) informs you that the function is active.

You will see, in the display, how long there is to go (in hours) before the programme starts. A flashing dot in the digital display means that the delay start function has been activated.

Opening the door has no effect on a countdown which has already been started.

9. "Cancel programme" button (Löschen)

If you wish to cancel a programme which is already running or a setting which has just been made, press this button for about 2 seconds until the short "instruction accepted" signal is heard.

The programme selector light flashes, to indicate that the dishwasher has turned to reset mode and that a new programme and new options may be selected.

10. "Intensive" programme indicator light (Intensiv)

This pilot light comes on when the most energetic programme is selected (nr. 2 Intensive 70°c) with a hot prewash, suitable for pans and particularly dirty crockery.

Before use

Before using your dishwasher for the first time:

1.ensure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions

2.remove all packaging from inside the appliance

3.set the water softener

4.pour 1 litre of water inside the salt container and then fill with salt

5.fill the rinse aid dispenser.

Setting the water softener

The dishwasher is equipped with a water softener designed to remove minerals and salts from the water supply, which would have a detrimental or adverse effect on the operation of the appliance. The higher the content of these salts, the harder your water is.

Water hardness is measured in equivalent scales, for example German degrees, French degrees and PPM (parts per million).

The softener should be adjusted according to the hardness of the water in your area. Your local Water Authority can advise you on the hardness of the water in your area.

The dishwasher is factory set at level 4.

If this level is not suitable for your area the softener should be adjusted.

To select a different level proceed as follows:

-Press the On/Off pushbutton on.

-Press the "Eco dry" (Trocknen Aus) and "Cancel" (Löschen) buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The number "4" corresponding to the current level appears in the display.

-Press the "Eco dry" (Trocknen Aus) button as many times as necessary to make the required level appear in the display. The corresponding pilot light flashes to indicate that this button must be pressed. The level increases by 1 each time the button is pressed.

-5 seconds after this button has last been pressed, the dishwasher memorises the level selected and returns to the programme setting mode.

If your water is level 0 it is already soft and therefore there is no need to use salt.

With the setting of the water softener at level 0 the salt indicator light on the control panel will always remain off.

Use salt from level 1 upwards.

Filling with salt

Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwasher.

All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in dishwasher, specially table salt, will damage the water softener.

Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing programmes (not the Rinse and Hold programme). This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilled, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion.

To fill:

1.To fill with salt, unscrew the cap of the salt container.

2.Pour 1 litre of water inside the container, or until it is full (this is necessary only before filling with salt for the first time).

3.Then using the funnel provided, pour in the salt until the container is full.

Do not worry if water over flows from the unit when filling with salt, this is quite normal.

4.Replace the cap making sure that there is no trace of salt on the screw thread or on the gasket.

5.Screw on the cap tightly.

The salt container will require topping up periodically.

The "Salt" indicator light on the control panel will illuminate when the salt has finished, and requires refilling. The salt container has always some water inside which will normally overflow when refilling with salt.

The "Salt" indicator light can remain illuminated for 2 - 6 hours after salt has been replenished, assuming the dishwasher remains switched on. If you are using salts that take longer to dissolve then this can take longer. The function of the dishwasher is not affected.

Rinse aid

Rinse aid is automatically added during the last rinse, ensuring through rinsing, spot and streak free drying. The dispenser, which is positioned inside the door, holds about 110 ml of rinse aid, which is sufficient for 16 - 40 dishwashing programmes, depending upon the dosage setting.

Filling with rinse aid:

1.Open the container by turning the lid (A) anticlockwise.

2.Add the rinse aid until the container is completely full (approx. 110 ml). The indicator

(B)will be completely dark.

3.Top up the rinse aid when the rinse aid indicator light on the control panel illuminates.

Ensure that the lid is closed after every refill.

Do not put liquid detergent in the rinse aid department. Clean up any rinse aid spilt during filling with an absorbent cloth to avoid excess foaming during the next wash.

Adjusting the dose

According to the finish and drying results obtained, adjust the dose of rinse aid by means of the 6 position selector (C) (position 1 minimum dosage, position 6 maximum dosage).

(Start from position 3).

Gradually increase the dose if there are drops of water or lime spots on the dishes after washing. Reduce it if there are sticky whitish streaks on the dishes.
