The following information is provided for users familiar with Hemisphere GPS commands. For more information on specifi c commands, please consult the Hemisphere GPS Technical Reference. This document can be downloaded at www.hemispheregps.com.
The following confi guration commands are sent at the factory:

The XF101 is confi gurable. The following set­tings are the standard factory confi gurations. These are the settings that Hemisphere GPS recommends using.

Default baud rate 57600
Messages GPGGA (1 Hz)
GPGSA (1 Hz) GPVTG (1 Hz) GPGSV (5 sec.)
Indicator:
The LED on the top left corner is red when the GPS has power.

Add a new GPS receiver to a Windows Mobile PC with a XF101 DGPS receiver.

Handheld PDA
Installation
Always power off the PDA before 1. attaching or removing the GPS receiver.
Remove the two screws on the top cover 2. of the handheld PDA.
Interface module
Align the compact fl ash card with slot.3.
Insert the interface module carefully. 4. Be sure you feel NO resistance when sliding the parts together. If you do, slide the pieces apart and try again.
Tighten the screws. This connection 5. keeps water out of the handheld PDA.
GPS module
Align GPS module with the interface 6. module.
Connect the GPS module and the inter-7. face module.
Fold in the screw tabs.8.
Tighten the screws.9.
