Modification Notes
This Holux receiver has been modified by Juniper Systems so that it plugs directly into an
Allegro Field PC. The cable has been shortened and a different connector has been
attached.
The Tool CD contains instructions for all GPS models produced by Holux. The
specifications and user’s manual for the Holux GR213H GPS receiver are located on the
Tool CD under the GR213 folder.
Any accessory items shown on the Tool CD or in the user’s manual found on the Tool CD
are not functional with the Allegro. The Tool CD contains a GPS Viewer program that is
meant for a Pocket PC and does not operate on the Allegro. You do not need this program
to operate this receiver.
Instructions for Use
This GR213 receiver must be attached to COM 1 on the Allegro. The COM 1 port supplies
the power needed to use the receiver. This receiver does not operate on COM 2.
The Data format output by this receiver is NMEA at 4800 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1
stop bit. It uses the WGS84 Datum.
This receiver is intended to be used with the Juniper Systems GPS antenna bracket. See the
bracket instructions to mount the bracket onto the Allegro. The GPS receiver has a built in
magnet that holds the receiver to this bracket.
There is an orange status light on the top of the receiver. The table below indicates how to
interpret this status light:
Light on: Power on, acquiring satellites
Light blinking: Position fix acquired, outputting position
