1.1 Introduction - Air heating FOGO and FOGHEA

The Foghet with curved or straight front can be clad as a
replace or as a stove (“FOGO” model); with straight front as a replace or stove (“FOGHEA” model) Foghet is a humidied hot air heating stove tested and
approved according to European Standards EN 13229, EN 14785, EN 303/5 and DIN 18894, DIN 18891, DIN 18882, for
operation with wood or with wood and pellets.
Designed to meet today’s market requirements of energy saving, comfort and safeguarding the environment, it is the result of Jolly-Mec’s 30 years’ experience.
Foghet is a monobloc consisting of a double-wall heat exchanger in special steel whose particular construction allows maximum exploitation of the combustion heat, obtaining high efficiencies
of up to 85%, making it one of the best in the category for efficiency and emissions.
The Foghet with curved or straight front clad as a Fogo
or Foghea stove, has a simplied electronic controller that
manages the stove when operating on wood or pellets. It has a programmable thermostat (Chronothermostat) for automatic
lighting and shutdown. With the new-generation simplied
electronic controller version, when programmed, if the wood
nishes and the room thermostat demands more heat, the stove
automatically switches from wood to pellet mode with automatic igniting of the pellets, maintaining the set temperature. The
simplied electronic controller sounds an acoustic signal when the pellets nish. It also enables the management of a possible
supplementary pellet hopper. Moreover, the electronic controller enables a check-up of the various parts.
When fed with wood, it functions as a normal replace or
stove but with the added advantages of controlled combustion, thanks to the Jolly-Mec patented Caldo Control system, which optimises combustion according to combustion air temperature.
With application of the specic JOLLY ME-07-F pellet burner, FOGO and FOGHEA become “continuous ame” heating appliances, just
like a boiler. The products of the range provide for a pellet hopper of approx. 46 kg capacity, however, to obtain a longer burn time it can be coupled to a second and larger hopper, even located in another room, from which the pellets can be conveyed with the in feed screw system or pneumatically. Operation can be quickly switched from wood to pellet mode or vice versa by shifting the grille positioned over the burn pot and selecting the type of feed. In pellet mode, heating power is managed by means of the electronic controller provided: 9.3 kW up to 23 kW. Foghet can be purchased in the wood version and the burner can
be tted at a later stage, since the stove is already arranged for it.
It has a large ceramic glass door and for the wood-pellet version a removable second inner door with glass is available, which
simplies cleaning, keeping the glass of the outer door always
clean, while reducing the temperature of the front and the glass itself. To use the stove with wood the door removes easily and can be placed in the special holder (optional).
The humidied hot air Foghet heats all the home up to an area
of 110 m
2
. It has 2 top air outlets and one on the front of the
rebox. The hot air can be ducted to any room, even on different oors, by means of insulated exible aluminium pipes.
All models have an incorporated manual-feed humidier that
prevents physiological problems such as dry throat, migraine, various allergies and excessive dust caused by a too dry environment.
Balsamic and fragrant essences can be added to the humidier
water.
THE HOT AIR HEATING FOGO andFOGHEA have a 620 m
3
/h fan for delivering hot air in the rooms. In summer the fan can deliver fresh air in the rooms.

Recommended fuels:
WOOD: dry beech, hornbeam, oak, locust (acacia) very dry and in length from 32 to 35 cm. PELLETS: See pellet characteristics given in chap. 1.16.
All testing, inspections and preparation of the Foghet were carried out using the recommended pellets.

S.p.A. declines any liability for malfunctions, faults or problems due to the use of non­recommended pellets, since the combustion parameters vary
from pellets to pellets (they can even vary by approx. 30%).
For optimum operation, combustion must be adjusted using the pellet feed control on the burner (see chap. 1.8).

1.6 Burner and pellet hopper parts
The JOLLY ME07 F burner and pellet hopper can be removed for transport.
1.
Disconnect the power supply then detach the connectors.
2.
Loosen the hopper/burner connection clamp.
3.
Undo the two M8 screws inside the pellet hopper and remove
the hopper.
4.
Loosen the M6 locking screw on the burn pot container and
remove the pellet burn pot.
5.
Remove the ash pan.
6.
Undo the M6 screws xing the burner to the boiler and
remove the burner.
7.
Proceed in reverse order to ret.
To replace the ignition electrical element
1.
Disconnect the power supply then detach the connectors.
2.
Undo the M6 screw and remove the protection casing.
3.
Undo the three M4 screws of the electrical element support
and remove the element.
4.
Proceed in reverse order to ret.
NOTE!
When retting, make sure the electrical element is correctly inserted in the special support xed to the burn pot container (when xing with the screws, the ange must protrude
approx. 2 mm with respect to the face of the assembly plate).

1.7 New-generation simplified electronic controller
1.7.1 Description of the simplified electronic controller for air heating
The simplied electronic controller is a new-generation device
equipped with a chronothermostat with programmes to be personalised, enabling easy management of control functions. The electronic controller buttons enable:
- management of supplementary pellet hoppers. An acoustic
signal sounds when the pellets in the hopper are nished.
- The electronic controller enables automatic switching from wood to pellet mode by pressing the ”wood” button again (the
corresponding LED ashes) and manually switching on the
wood combustion air fan at power level 2.
- Approx. 30 minutes after the boiler temperature has fallen
below the set limit the replace automatically lights in pellet
mode at the preset power level, even with the grille temporarily over the burn pot (with damper open 45°). If the pellets do not burn properly, the burn pot can be manually cleaned two or three times in a row.

1.7.2 Setting the language
To set the required language, when the operation status screen is displayed, press the button MODIFY until ”LANGUAGE SET” appears.

1.7.3 Lighting in pellet mode, electronic controller
Before lighting the pellet stove, a few preliminary operations are necessary:
1.
Move the cast iron grate positioned over the pellet burner, uncovering it.
2.
Clean the re bed and burn pot and empty the ash pan.
3.
Manually adjust the ue damper by turning the knob to the ideal position of draw. (see page. 19).
4.
Make sure the pellets pot is well positioned (see par. 1.13 page 26).
5.
Make sure the ash pan is properly closed.
6.
Close the grille positioned on the ash pan.
7.
Close the Caldo Control by pushing the lever all the way.
8.
Check that the electronic controller is set to Winter mode, otherwise the stove will not light (the corresponding LED must be on).
9.
Check that the electronic controller is set to pellet mode, otherwise the stove will not light (the corresponding LED must be on).
10.
If the electronic controller is in wood mode, set it to pellet mode by pressing the corresponding button.
11.
Check that there are pellets in the hopper, otherwise top up with pellets of the recommended type (if the pellets are below the level of the sensors, the stove will not light).
12.
Manual loading before lighting must only be done at rst lighting and when cleaning the burn pot (do
not exceed the quantity indicated in
Fig. 1
).
In all other cases, DO NOT LOAD MANUALLY, because it is done automatically.
At rst lighting and during lightings set with the chronothermostat, the damper MUST be opened in HALF-CLOSED POSITION
(II o III)

NOW CARRY OUT THE LIGHTING STAGE.
On pressing the button for lighting, the electronic controller AUTOMATICALLY feeds the burn pot with pellets up to 2 cm below the rim (as shown in
Fig. 2
); the electrical element then starts the pellet igniting stage. If for any reason the pellet level is higher, when the electrical element starts ignition, remove the excess pellets otherwise ignition may be violent.

The simplied electronic controller automatically manages the
entire lighting process, according to the following stages:
1.
BURN POT CLEANING for 2 minutes (the display shows
HOP.1)
2.
PELLET LOADING up to 2 cm from the rim of the burn pot;
duration approx. 4 minutes (the display shows PELL.1)
3.
ACTIVATION OF ELECTRICAL ELEMENT AND FAN:
combustion starts; duration approx. 4 minutes (the display shows IGNIT.1)
4.
COMBUSTION STABILISATION: the ame gradually
spreads to the pellets in the burn pot; duration approx. 10 minutes (the display shows STAB.1)
5.
SWITCH TO OPERATION AT PREVIOUSLY SET POWER
LEVEL:
the replace
has completed the lighting stage and automatically goes to the power level set before the last shutdown, which is shown on the display (for example, PWR>MEDIUM).
If the stove still fails to light, carry out the operations described in
chap. “troubleshooting”. Approximately every 30 minutes an automatic cleaning cycle of 2 minutes is carried out, with pellet feed at minimum and combustion air at maximum (the display shows the message HOP. 3 and the corresponding LED lights up).
The burner is managed with the room temperature probe: on reaching the set room temperature, it switches to the economy mode (the display shows the message ECON.) and restarts when the room temperature falls.
The fan delivering hot air in the room switches on when the air in the boiler exceeds 40 °C. Fan speed increases gradually as the boiler temperature increases or, manually, by programming it on the electronic controller.
If, after a couple hours’ operation, the glass starts to go black, or the pellets fall out or
the stove
shuts down, this means that the pellets used are not of the recommended type (for pellet characteristics, see chap. 1.16), or that the combustion air in
insufcient (make sure the combustion fan is not dirty).
Therefore a few operations are necessary to eliminate the problem (see par. 1.7.10).

To maintain the required room temperature, the Foghet is equipped with a room temperature probe that automatically controls burner operation. 1.7.7 Silencing an alarm
Press the button TEST until the alarm is reset. Fireplace operation is restored.
If the alarm does not reset and the message ”TO SEE
ALARMS” flashes on the display press the buttons ESC
and to enter “ALARMS MANAGEMENT” (without code) and keep the button TEST pressed until the alarm is cancelled, not before having eliminated the problem that caused the alarm.

1.7.9 Humidifier use
The stove has an incorporated manual-lling humidier.
The water must be added in the stove at the special lling point
(max. capacity: 1 litre). Remove the cap on the left of the front grille (Fogo model), or on
the right of the single unit (Foghea model, as shown in the gure), and ll; the humidier is full when the water reaches the level.
Do not overfill, since the spilling of excess water can damage the fan.

If the pellets do not burn well after having installed the
stove
correctly and thoroughly cleaned the burn pot, boiler body, ue and
outside air inlets (this could be due to the use of pellets having different characteristics from those with which the stove was tested, therefore it is advisable to only use pellets of the recommended type), the pellet feed and combustion air can be adjusted to obtain
the correct combustion ratio and optimum efciency.

1.7.13 Lighting in wood mode
Before lighting the wood stove, a few preliminary operations are necessary:
1.
Clean the re bed and empty the ash pan.
2.
Open the damper, turning the knob it until the notch is aligned with IIII (see pag. 19).
3.
Move the cast iron grate over the pellet burner.
4.
Open the grille positioned on the ash pan.
5.
Open the Caldo Control by pulling the lever.
6.
Check that the controller is set to Winter mode (for heating, the corresponding LED must be lit).
7.
Check that the controller is set to wood mode otherwise the stove will light in pellet mode (the corresponding LED must be lit).
8.
Press ON.
9.
Load the wood and light the re.
10.
Close the door.

Automatic switching from wood to pellet mode
With wood mode set, press the button WOOD again (the corresponding LED ashes) to activate automatic switching from wood to pellet mode. When the wood is nished and the boiler water
temperature falls below the set limit, the burner starts automatically after 30 minutes.
For correct operation in wood mode, it is suggested to set “SET
AIR WOOD” function to the value 2 in the Quick menu.
Fireplace output and load burn time are regulated by the amount of combustion air; to adjust the amount, adjust the primary air of the ash pan (opening or closing the grille).
The stove has an automatic draught adjustment by means of the CALDO CONTROL (also adjustable manually), which operates the damper to reduce the primary combustion air
passage when the air reaches a temperature of around 70°C. To obtain a heating power of 23.2 kW, it is necessary to burn
6-7 kg of wood per hour.

To switch automatically from wood to pellets, you need to position the flue damper on III and it is required to set the mode “SET AIR WOOD “, in the quick menu on the speed level 2.
Before making the final charge of wood, you should remove, with the poker, the ashes laying on the rear grid, this to allow the pellet flame to spread, temporarily the burner can work with the grid lying above the basket.

Optimising combustion and damper use
This stove/boiler offers excellent performance. When using pellets, for optimum operation without overloading the burner respect the following rules, making use of the “pellet feed control”.
•
Using the damper
The damper can be set to 4 positionsi: I, II,III and IIII. It allows the correct adjustment of combustion according to ue draught (which also
varies according to atmospheric conditions). The user should become familiar with damper use in order to optimise stove operation. To adjust the damper:
• turn the knob until the notch is in the desired position.
Carefuladjustmentofthedamperisall-importantforcorrectstoveoperation.
Step 1: manually load a small quantity of pellets using the command on the electronic controller (see
Fig. 1
). Do not exceed the recommended quantity and make sure the burn pot is secured by forcing it with the special screw.
Step 2: carry out lighting. At the end of automatic loading, in the electrical element lighting stage, the quantity of pellets must never exceed the level indicated (see
Fig. 2
) in order to avoid
violent ignition.
Step 3: adjust the quantity of pellets according to their type and size using the feed control
(see
Fig. 3) and respecting the weights
given in the technical data; set the electronic controller to medium power; close the damper and the Caldo Control; set the combustion
air and the pellets to 0%. The ame should be as in
Fig. 4
. While
burning, the pellets must always remain below the upper holes of
the burn pot and the ame must be clear.
Step 4: when unburned fuel remains in the burn pot, use the pointed end of the poker to break up the encrustations and then
the at part to remove it and clean the combustion air holes
(see
Fig. 5
).
Step 5: in case of incorrect combustion or lighting problems, clean the burn pot, following the procedure in the quick reference notice.
Step 6: about every 20 days, remove the upper bafe and clean it. The combustion air percentage (%) must not be set below
-5%, to avoid possible spontaneous combustion, dirtying the boiler excessively and blackening the glass (see
Fig. 6
).

1.9 Advice and warnings
When purchasing rewood, it is advisable to vary the sizes;
a length of 30/32 cm is ideal for quick lighting, and long
burn times, if the quality of the wood is good; efciency and
functionality will also be optimum. If the glass becomes very dirty (blackening) during operation with pellets, the causes may be:
• Poor ue draught (clean the ue, or check its characteristics)
• Insufcient combustion air (increase the air by means of the
combustion fan)
• Non-use of the second door (optional)
The quantity of pellets entering the burn pot (this depends on the
type of pellets used) is different from that given in the technical data (par. 1.3). Check the hourly pellet consumption at medium power and adjust the delivery by means of the feed control.
In the case of ignition with quantity of pellets greater than that
indicated on chap. 1.8, contact the Technical Assistance Service.
To obtain a heating power of 23.2 kW, it is necessary to burn 5-6 kg of wood or 4-5 kg of pellets per hour.
Never light the replace, in particular in wood mode, without the
power supply connected. If pellets have not been used for a long time (spring-summer), the hopper, in feed screw and burn pot must be completely emptied with the aid of a vacuum cleaner, then clean thoroughly to prevent residual pellets from forming a lump and damaging
The hot air fan must be activated with the stove lit, as the “FOGHET” is a very powerful heat exchanger stove. The fan switches on automatically only when the air temperature is approx. 40° C. If the electronic controller is switched off, the fan is automatically activated when 120°C is reached, to prevent dangerous overheating. Therefore, NEVER OPERATE THE FIREPLACE/STOVE WITHOUT THE POWER CONNECTED.
some parts at the next lighting. Only use recommended fuels, otherwise the warranty will be invalidated. Every 5-10 qtl of pellets loaded in the hopper, check and remove any sawdust deposited on the bottom. (sawdust reduces in feed screw capacity and creates stove operation problems).
The rebox must always be closed, except when loading fuel,
to prevent smoke escaping
Check for any obstructions in the ue and the outside air inlets
before lighting the stove after a long period of disuse Do not use the stove as an incinerator. Only use recommended fuels.
The rebox cannot be modied; any unauthorised modication
automatically invalidates the warranty and relieves the Manufacture of any liability Do not place the stove in direct contact with combustible materials; the minimum distance to be respected is 20 cm. Regular and methodical maintenance is all-important for correct
operation and maximum efciency.
This is a hight performance insert obtained by closed doors. In case of opening and no perfect draftl conditions in the chimney (12Pa), there could be smoke puff exit. In case you need to charge wood remember to oper the damper control to avoid it and to reposition the damper after the operation.
WARNING!
In case of a power failure or voltage rushes, some electrical components could be damaged if the fireplace is on and loaded with lots of wood. In case of a power failure, to reduce the heat close the damper, Caldo Control and the shutter on the ash pan; if it is still too high, remove a few pieces of wood. The combustion fan must be cleaned at least once a year. Only use original replacement parts; original replacement parts are available from authorised dealers and Assistance Centres, or directly from JOLLY-MEC.
WARNING!
DO NOT TOUCH any parts of the firebox not covered by the cladding, except the handles and controls, as they can become very hot. The room where the stove is installed must not communicate directly with stair wells; no other boilers, flues, stoves, fireplaces or air extractors must be in the same room (excluded of the type “C” according to UNI
10683). Ensure an outside air inlet of Ø 150 mm in the room, connected to the stove.

1.10 Cleaning the stove
Initially, for a few days during operation with pellets, check the burn pot to determine how often it needs cleaning. Before any cleaning,
always turn off the main switch and make sure the replace is cold.
•
Cleaning the burn pot
Removing the burn pot after loosening the locking screw with the special wrench. Carefully clean all the air holes in the burn pot with a pointed tool.Make sure the burn pot support is clean (if the burn pot is not correctly positioned and air escapes, the stove will not light or operate properly; smoke could also enter the pellet hopper). Position the burn pot correctly, pushing it to the left by means of the locking screw located on the right side of the burn pot container (make sure to tighten the screw).

The smoke deector is delivered disassembled inside the re­place, so you must rst proceed to install it correctly following

The device has to be hung at the round supports located at the
rear of the replace (A) and secured by means of a pin inserted
on the front (B). The system is designed such as to make an easier cleaning to be done according to several factors, such as: the actual use (at least once per week or about every 60 hours of operation), the type of fuel used, the draw of the smoke pipe as well as weather conditions, so that the passage of the fumes is saved from any
clogging caused by backow of the same fumes in the room. When the replace is running, the tilting piece of the deector
must be closed (pos.1 upwards); so the locking lever has to be hooked into the slot provided for this purpose (pos. 2).
During the cleaning of the deector, this tilting part has to be
slightly raised in order to unhook the lever out of its location (
Fig.
2). Once the lifter is unhooked, let tumble the tilting part several types to let drop the ash dust (
Fig.
3), and then reposition it (as
per
Fig.
1), while ensuring that the locking lever is well hooked
in its slot.
•
Cleaning the glass
When using the replace in pellet mode, clean the glass every
day with a damp sponge or a paper towel. If the glass becomes dirty with black smoke, clean the burn pot or increase the
combustion air. When operating in wood mode, use specic
products. Do not use aggressive cleaning products that could damage the paintwork.
If the replace requires more frequent cleaning, check the ue draught and make sure the smoke bafe is clean (the minimum
draught must be 12 Pascal; do not use the stove if the draught
is less than the specied value).
•
Cleaning the ash pan
Empty periodically when necessary. The ash drawer has a locking device to prevent the sudden
openings in case of violent ring, but allowing however the vent.
Lift up the tray to remove it, while, to put it, simply push it into its seat.
•
Cleaning the fireplace body
Remove the wood guard, cast iron grates and burn pot. Using
the ue brush and brush supplied, clean the corrugated sheet,
making sure the soot falls into the ash pan. Empty the ash pan and carefully clean the box. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner to remove soot and ash. Clean the pellet burn pot with a wire brush and a pointed tool.
Ret all parts correctly.
•
Cleaning the flue
Routine ue cleaning depends on the draught, replace use,
weather conditions and the type of wood or pellets used.
It is mandatory to clean the ue every year, by a specialised technician once a year, in autumn before lighting the replace.
•
Cleaning the pellet hopper
Every 500-1000 kg of pellets burned, empty the hopper and remove any sawdust deposited on the bottom. Carefully clean the bottom of the hopper. In case of long idle periods, empty the hopper and the in feed screw.
•
Cleaning the fans
Once a year remove the combustion fan and remove all dust and dirt from the blades.
NOTE: During normal functioning, check that the ash drawer is closed (against
the structure of the replace
and not against the security plate).

• The gear motor does not turn even though powered (remove the gear motor, free the in feed screw with a screwdriver and ret the gear motor).
• The motor turns but the in feed screw does not move. Replace the gear motor (broken gears).
The stove does not light automatically in pellet mode
Summer mode is set.
• The burn pot is dirty. Clean it thoroughly and ret correctly.
• The burn pot is not correctly positioned. Reposition and clamp it, tightening the locking screw with the
special wrench supplied
• The electrical element is faulty; replace the electrical element. In the meantime, light the stove manually using relighters (or similar products).
The pellets burn poorly forming incompletely combusted residue in the burn pot, the glass gets very dirty and turns black
• The quantity of pellets fed into the burn pot at the various power levels does not comply with that given
in the Technical Data (see chap. 1.3). Check and correct.
• Insufcient ue draught (do not use the stove, it could be dangerous). Clean the ue and the stove
thoroughly.
• Pellet burn pot dirty. Clean it. Burning pot in a wrong position (see chap 1.13 page 26)
• Pellets damp. Replace with dry pellets.
• Insufcient combustion air; check that the combustion fan pipe is unobstructed and clean the fan.
• Insufcient combustion air setting. Increase the setting in the SET COMB. AIR function in the Quick
Menu.
At minimum power, the fireplace always goes off because not enough pellets are fed
• Too much sawdust on the bottom of the hopper. Empty the hopper and rell with new pellets. (every
500-1000 kg of pellets loaded, empty the hopper and remove all the sawdust deposited on the bottom).
• Increase the pellet feed in the SET PELLET % function in the Quick Menu.
At minimum power, the fireplace always goes off because too many pellets are fed and do not burn
• Reduce the pellet ow rate in the SET PELLET % function in the Quick Menu.
• Increase the combustion air.
When the hot air fan starts, the flame is considerably reduced
• Make sure the outside air inlet complies with the indications given, and that it is clean.
Make sure the fan ducting complies with the indications given, and that it is clean.
When the hot air fan speed increases, there is smell of smoke in the room
• Check the seal of the re bed plate under the ash pan.
• Make sure the ue is properly connected to the replace and that there are no smoke leaks.
• Make sure the outside air inlet complies with the indications given, and that it is clean.
• Make sure the fan ducting complies with the indications given, and that it is clean.
Smoke escapes when the door is opened, the pellets burn poorly, or the glass gets dirty (particularly when used with wood)
• If the replace is installed in a room in communication with a stairwell, with major depression that exists
in the local, close off the stairwell by installing a door.
• There are other appliances that use room air, creating low pressure. Use the replace when the other
appliances are off (excluded of the type “C” according to UNI 10683).
• The outside air inlets and/or the ue are partially or completely obstructed. Clean or remove the
obstructions. Air inlet and/or canalisations not correctly done.
• Clean the Smoke Deector (see chap.1.10)
• Insufcient ue draught: there are horizontal sections or 90° bends, or the chimney cap is located under the ridge of the roof (installation errors). Remove the precut part from the smoke bafe
(see chap. 1.8); replace the horizontal sections with sections at 45°; raise the chimney cap, or t an antiwind cap.
• Check that the ue conforms to the indications given in chap. 2.1, clean the ue and smoke bafe, open
the damper, open the door slowly. If after these operations smoke still comes out, eliminate the precut part of the smoke bafe (see chap. 1.8).

free and clean, thant oper the damper control and theat pipe B is not brocken and correctly assembled.
Call the technical assistance centre.
• Blown fuse. Check and replace.
• Safety thermostat activated. Empty the ash pan and clean the surface under it. Wait until the stove has
cooled then try again. Check the chimnay pull, the air inlet and reduce the fan velocity by wood. wait for cooling and try again.
• Combustion fan faulty. Contact the Technical Assistance Service.

1.13 Troubleshooting
If working with pellet the replace / stove does not lit, please
do the following instructions :
1. Remove the burn pot, loosening the locking screw with the wrench supplied or pliers.
2.
Clean and scrape the sides, clean all the holes.
3. Clean the burn pot chamber.
4. Ret the burn pot, paying attention to the pellet feed hole.
5. Make sure the upper ange is perfectly positioned on the
support surface.
6. Secure the burning pot with the locking screw using a wrench or pliers by always checking the pot is perfectly positioned on the support surface.
7. Using the special key or a nail, make sure the hole in the burn pot and in the hopper are aligned.
8.
Press the button to manually load the replace until
the pellets start entering
9.
Before pressing the ignition button make sure the burn pot
is empty except for just a few pellets on the bottom (
Fig. 8
). Never light the stove if there are more pellets. The STOVE can now be lit.

Press the ON button on the electronic controller (

) to
light the stove.

On pressing the ignition button, the electronic controller AUTOMATICALLY loads pellets up to 2 cm below the rim of the burn pot (

1.16 Pellet quality
It is important to select pellets that are free of dirt and impurities. The Pellet Producers’ Association has established standards for producers of wood pellets. Ask your. dealer for the best type of pellets.
Stove performance depends very much on the type and quality of the wood pellets used. The efficiency and heating capacity of the stove will vary according to the quality of the wood pellets used.
Store pellets at a distance of at least 1 m from the stove.
Do not use pellets that are very hard and of different sizes: the mechanical parts are sized and tested for use with pellets having the above characteristics.
JOLLY-MEC CAMINETTI S.p.A. recommends using the same type of pellets as those used to test the stove, as combustion parameters vary from pellets to pellets.
JOLLY-MEC CAMINETTI S.p.A. declines any liability for malfunctioning, faults or problems due to the use of non­recommended pellets.
As JOLLY-MEC CAMINETTI S.p.A. does not have control over the quality of pellets used, it declines any liability for problems caused by the use of non-recommended pellets.

1.17 Installation and maintenance card use and keeping

• Cardrecipients
The installation and maintenance card is intended for users responsible for stove operation; particular attention must be paid the parts concerning safety.
•
Purpose of the card
The card contains information on the correct use of the stove, according to the purposes for which it was designed and built. It also provides information about weights, commissioning, repair and maintenance of the stove in compliance with the limits laid down
by the Manufacturer, specied inside the card.
•
Keeping the card
The installation and maintenance card is an integral part of the stove and must be kept until scrapping of the same. It must be kept in a safe and dry place away from direct sunlight, and near the stove so that it is always readily available for reference. If lost or damaged, the user should request a copy from the Manufacturer.
•
Updating the card
The installation and maintenance card reects the state of the art at the time the stove was marketed. The Manufacturer reserves the
right to make changes to the stove, and consequently to the relevant card, without having to update previous editions. The user can always request information and updates which, when issued, become an integral part of the installation and maintenance card. If selling or transferring the stove, the user is requested to also give the new owner the card and in any case to inform the Manufacturer, so that the new owner can receive subsequent supplements.
•
Cases relieving the Manufacturer from liability
The Manufacturer is relieved from any liability in the following cases: a) improper use of the stove.
b) use not envisaged by specic national regulations. c) incorrect installation. d) feed faults. e) failure to carry out maintenance as prescribed. f) unauthorised modications or operations.
g) use of non-original replacement parts or not specic to the model. h) total or partial non-compliance with the instructions.
i) exceptional events (e.g. breakage due to natural disasters). j) damage caused by power failures, voltage rushes, electromagnetic elds. k) the use of pellets with characteristics different from those recommended in this card.

1.18 Ecological rules
1.18.1 WASTE MATERIALS AND DISPOSAL
The spare parts replaced during the life of the machine are considered waste and must be delivered to appropriate collection centres or entrusted to an authorized disposal.
The ashes have to be placed in a metal container with lid off closure; till the embers extinguishes completely, the closed container should be placed on a non-combustible surface and far away from combustible materials. The ashes can be thrown into the container for organic waste, only when they are completely extinguished obviously without nails or non-organic materials.
The natural wood ash (untreated wood), as a result of stoves or replaces combustion, is composed primarily of oxides
of calcium, silicon, potassium, magnesium. Therefore the ashes may be dispersed as fertilizer for plants or your garden not exceeding annually 2.6 kg on the 10m ².
The disposal of the machine must comply with current laws and ‘environment.
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT!!!!
1.18.2 DISPOSAL OF THE MACHINE
The stove is mainly composed of ferrous materials, but may also contain:

Insulating materials
electrical parts etc
Refractory materials
At the end of the exploitation of the stove, do not discard in the environment, but:
completely empty the circuit (if any existing)
Remove the pipes (if any existing)
Remove the plastic parts
Remove the wires and electrical components
These materials must be disposed of, by specialized agencies or conceals the laws of the country where it is installed.
Also:
blocking the moving parts
make inefcient the locks of the doors
So give what is left of the stove agencies the disposal of ferrous materials.
NOTE: In handing agencies ferrous waste disposal, move the stove in accordance with
specications in terms of safety.

The cross section of the ue must be that indicated in the stove technical characteristics. Each stove must have its own ue, which must not be shared by any other emissions (replaces,
boilers, stoves, etc.)
The dimensions of the ue depend on its height, to be measured
from the stove to the bottom of the chimney cap. To ensure adequate draught, the fume outlet area of the cap
must be double the cross section area of the ue. The pipe
used to exhaust the fumes generated by the natural-draught stove must:
- be fumetight, impermeable and adequately insulated according the conditions of use (see UNI 9615).
- be made from materials able to withstand the normal mechanical stresses, heat, and be resistant to the action of fumes and possible condensate.
- be mainly vertical, with deviations from the axis not exceeding 45°.
- be installed at a suitable distance from combustible or
ammable materials, by an air gap or suitable insulation
- preferably have a round internal section: square or rectangular sections must have rounded corners with radius of at least 20 mm.
- have a uniform, free and independent internal section.

have the rectangular sections with a max. ratio between the sides of 1.5:1.
An antiwind-type cap is advisable. If the ue is installed
externally, it must be insulated to prevent the cooling of fumes and the formation of condensate. The same applies to the section from the roof to the chimney cap.
For the connection between the stove and ue, or in the presence
of branches or bends, or for easier, quick and safe installation, it is advisable to use double-wall stainless steel pipes without insulation inside hoods. Non-combustible materials resistant to the fumes and their possible condensate must be used for installing the fume ducts. The use of asbestos cement pipes to connect appliances to the
ue is prohibited.
The fume ducts must not cross rooms in which the installation of combustion appliances is prohibited. The fume ducts must be installed in such a way as to ensure fume tightness when the stove is in negative pressure operating conditions and to avoid the formation of condensate and its conveyance to the unit. Horizontal sections should be avoided as much as possible. For exhaust pipes which must reach ceiling or wall outlets that are not coaxial with respect to the stove fume outlet, changes of direction must be made using open elbows not exceeding 45° (see
Fig. 1
). Do not use elements sloping in the other direction. The ue must be designed allow removal of soot and brush cleaning. The exhaust pipe must have a uniform cross section. Any changes in section are only permitted at the generator outlet; reduction
adapters must not be used at the connection with the ue.
Do not route other air supply and system pipes inside the exhaust pipes even if the latter are oversized.
Do not support the weight of the flue on the stove/fireplace connection. Use special brackets or separate supports. Other stoves, fireplaces, boilers or air extractors must not be installed in the same room (excluded of the type “C” according to UNI 10683). Minimum height of exhaust pipe: 3 metres.

preparing and preassembling all the outside air intakes, the ue

The various parts of the cladding must be handled with particular care, whether satin finished, polished or painted, as they could be scratched or dented during handling and assembly.
It is advisable to handle the various parts of the cladding without removing them from the original packing.
For better stove operation and efciency it is advisable to
connect the hot air fan suction pipe (pipe Ø120 mm) to the outside, knocking out the precut sheet on the left side/ rear panel, located at the bottom, in the position indicated by the arrow (A). Also, connect the pipes of the combustion fan (B) and the Caldo Control (C) to the cladding.
NOTE!
The ue must be installed in such a way that it can be
disassembled for possible cleaning or removing the cladding.

The various parts must be assembled using the special screws provided for correct tting of the cladding. Make sure to follow the
instructions listed below, after carrying out the various connections To facilitate carrying during installation, its is advisable to remove the parts

-A, 3-B, 3-C and 4 from the heating stove. The following
sequence takes into account that these parts have been removed.

Fit the frame to the Foghet, screwing the 4 M6 screws to
the special stop plates provided on the heating stove, and remove the damper control knob

. At the same time,
adjust the feet under the frame.

Connect the hot air pipes for ducting to other rooms; or x
two 22 cm long sections for higher recirculation of room air, securing them with the pipe clamps at the bottom.

Assemble the side panels 3-A, 3-B screwing them to the
frame at the sides and to each other at the rear with 10 M6 screws; position the top

-C and secure it with the special
M6 screws, making sure the aluminium pipe sections are
xed axially with the openings provided for delivery of air
in the room, if the exchange air is not ducted.

Fit the plate under the base of the glass door, securing
it with 3 self-tapping screws in the holes provided in the base of the heating stove.

Position the left panel on the frame 1, on the folds
provided, securing it with 3 M6 screws on the outside and 4 M6 screws on the opposite side.

Position the right panel on the frame 1, on the folds
provided, securing it with 3 M6 screws on the outside and 4 M6 screws on the opposite side.

Fit the top front panel in the grooves provided on the side

The fume damper must be assembled so that when the damper is in vertical (nearly completely open), the dial horizontal (with the index on the right) and the position indicator (IIII position)
also on the right, the rod can be easily removed for ue cleaning unscrewing the extern screw, xed on its own holding block (see
g. 1). By assembling take care to position the damper lever in the centre of the chimney. The damper is laterally mounted , putting the rod into the pre-positioned hole in the display holder box.
Fasten the support box for the regulating unit inside the cladding, with the supplied screws (see Fig. 2). Assemble the regulating unit on the rod and secure it with its grub screw. Turn the central pin right and left in order to fasten the regulating unit to the box (with its screws), keeping the position indicator on the right. Use pressure to assemble the dial.

2.7 Caldo Control
The Caldo Control is a Jolly-Mec patented device enabling automatic adjustment of the primary combustion air according to the air temperature read by the bulb (
Fig. 5
) in the boiler.
This device gradually reduces the combustion air ow when the air temperature rises. The Caldo Control optimises stove fuel
consumption, thus extending burn time. The Caldo Control must only be activated in wood-burning mode (
Fig. 1
); during pellet mode
operation, push the lever indicated in
Fig. 2
all the way to close the air inlet.
The Caldo Control can be adjusted, after a settling stage, by operating the adjustment screw (
Fig. 6
).

2.8 Installing hot air ducting pipes
To t the hot air pipes proceed as follows:
• Connect the Ø 100 mm aluminium pipes to the collars provided on the top of the stove, under the cladding cover (see example in
Fig. 1
), and x them with the special pipe clamps supplied. If the change air is not going to be ducted, fix 2 vertical pipes approx.
2 cm long, so that they rest under the top cover of the cladding.
• The two precut sheet disks at the bottom of the stove cladding must be knocked out for the ducts (
Fig. 2
).
• One or more branches can be applied for possible ducting to other rooms (see par. 1.14 e 2.9)
• It is advisable to use Y connections.

It is advisable to knock out the precut disk at the bottom (indicated by the arrow) to connect the hot air fan pipe to the outside of the cladding. That indicated also applies for the Foghea stove.

2.9 Example of hot air ducting
The air pipes must be taken to the rooms to be heated. The return of air to the stove room must be guaranteed from every room in which the hot air arrives, through openings under the doors or outlets, via the grille at the back of the stove.
Air delivery occurs by means of exible round aluminium pipes, with connections or branches in sheet metal. The pipes must be xed
to the connections by means of pipe clamps.
To pipes must be insulated to ensure stove efciency. Therefore they must be wrapped with glass wool matting (min. thickness 3 cm)
for the entire length.
Caution: Avoid contact of the pipes with wood and flammable materials.
Using plastic pipes to deliver the air is very dangerous because the high temperatures could deform them and generate harmful gases. Where the ducting pipes cannot be enclosed, they can be concealed with a false ceiling or using fake beams or boxing.
Make sure to hermetically seal the space between the outlets and the wall with silicone, to prevent the air escaping and causing blackening due to the heat (e.g. marks above radiators).
MAX. DUCTABLE LENGTH 15 METRES.
NOTE!
To duct the air to other rooms, connect the pipes to the top outlets of the stove. To deliver the air in the various rooms, see the examples. The air can be balanced by means of the grilles with adjustable closure.
