INTRODUCTION
is user manual contains important information and safety
precautions for the John Bunn Neb-u-Lite EV2 Nebulizer
Compressor.
Before using your Nebulizer Compressor, please read and understand
this entire user manual. Take special note of all safety precautions
marked DANGER and WARNING. Save this user manual for future
reference.
Intended Use
e Neb-u-Lite EV2 Nebulizer Compressor System is designed to
provide a source of compressed air for aerosol therapy. It is used in
conjunction with a jet (pneumatic) nebulizer to produce medicated
aerosols for inhalation by patients with respiratory symptoms.
Indications for therapy include asthma, chronic bronchitis, infection
of the upper respiratory tract, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,
and other respiratory disorders in accordance with a physician’s
prescription. Do not use this product for any other purpose than the
preceding. is device can be used with pediatric or adult patients
under physician’s prescription.
WARNING: This product contains small parts that may
present a choking hazard to small children, and the
tubing may present a strangulation hazard. Always use
close supervision when this device is used by or near
children or those who require close supervision.
WARNING: Children under the age of 3, or any patient
who is unable to use a mouthpiece properly under
supervision, should use a mask.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
DANGER: To reduce the risk of electrocution:
1. Always unplug this product immediately after use.
2. Do not use this product while bathing, showering,
washing dishes, or close to water sources of any kind.
3. Do not place or store device where it can fall or be pulled
into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place device in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. Do not reach for a device that has fallen into water.

manual. Do not use attachments or accessories not
recommended by GF Health Products, Inc.
5. Never operate this product if:
a. it has a damaged cord or plug,
b. it is not working properly,
c. it has been dropped or damaged, or
d. it has been dropped into water.
Return the product to your Graham-Field authorized
distributor for examination and repair.
6. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Never block the air openings of this product or place it
on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air
openings may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of
lint, hair and the like.
8. Never drop or insert any object into any openings or
hose.
9. Never use this device while drowsy or sleeping.
10. Do not use this device outdoors or operate where aerosol
(spray) products are being used.

11. Do not use this device in the presence of ammable
anesthesia or where oxygen or nitrous oxide is being
administered. This device has no AP or APG protection.
12. Connect this device to a properly grounded outlet only.
13. This device has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature, this plug will t into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t
fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. Do not modify the plug in
any way. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
14. Unplug the device before lling or cleaning the nebulizer.
15. This device is oil-free. Do not lubricate.
16. Do not remove the jet nebulizer while the device is
operating.
17. Do not leave medication inside the jet nebulizer when it
is not in use.
18. Use the nebulizer intermittently; the maximum operating
period is 30 minutes. The nebulizer must stand unused
for 30 minutes before use.
19. The mouthpiece and masks are for use by one person
only; in order to avoid infection, do not share them.

Info: Before initial operation, clean the nebulizer cup assembly
following the instructions given in MAINTENANCE/Cleaning
the Nebulizer Cup.
WARNING: Ensure that the nebulizer compressor is
unplugged during setup.
1. Before each use, inspect the compressor and nebulizer cup
assembly for damage or wear; replace as needed.
2. Place the compressor on a table or other at stable surface (not on
the oor), in an area that is clean and dust-free. Be sure you can
easily reach the controls when seated.
3. Open the nebulizer medication cup: Twist the cap counterclockwise until it stops, then lift cap o.
4. Pour the prescribed medication into the nebulizer medication
cup. Do not ll with more than 8 ml per treatment.
5. Install cap on cup. Turn clockwise to
tighten.

proceed to step 7. If using a mask, install
the bottom part of the mask directly onto
the top of the nebulizer medication cup

8. Connect the tubing to the adapter on the bottom of the nebulizer
medication cup.
9. Connect the tubing’s other end to the compressor air outlet
connector.
WARNING: Before use, check that all parts are securely
connected. Use of an improperly assembled nebulizer
could diminish or prevent adequate delivery of
medication and the eectiveness of the treatment.

OPERATION
Nebulizer Operation
s NOTICE: The Neb-u-Lite EV2 Nebulizer Compressor is
designed for intermittent use only. Do not operate it
continuously for more than 30 minutes for a single use
without turning it o and allowing a cooling period of at
least 30 minutes.
1. Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
2. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical wall
outlet.
3. Move the ON/OFF switch to the ON position to start the
compressor.
4. Place the nebulizer mouthpiece between teeth and close mouth
(or install the mask on face).
5. As aerosol starts owing, inhale deeply and slowly through
mouthpiece (or mask).
WARNING: Never use a nebulizer with a clogged nozzle.
If the nozzle is clogged, the aerosol mist will be reduced,
altered or stopped, which will diminish or eliminate the
eectiveness of the treatment. If clogging occurs, replace
the nebulizer.
Info: If you need to interrupt treatment, move the ON/OFF
switch to the OFF position.
6. When the treatment is complete, move the ON/OFF switch to
the OFF position to turn o the compressor.
7. Unplug the compressor from power outlet.
8. Disconnect nebulizer from tubing.
9. Clean nebulizer as instructed in MAINTENANCE/Cleaning the
Nebulizer Cup.

Safety Overload
s NOTICE: Do not exceed 30 minutes of continuous
operation.
1. e motor of this device has a built-in thermal overload protector.
Should the motor overheat, the protector will automatically shut
o the motor. Should this occur, move the ON/OFF switch
to the OFF position and allow the motor to cool down for
approximately 30 minutes before turning it on again.
2. If the overload protector shuts o the motor frequently, you may
have an unstable voltage situation.
3. If the device shuts down and cannot restart, it may need to
be replaced. Call your Graham-Field authorized distributor
immediately.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the Compressor’s Outer Case
WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Do not remove
the outer case of the device. All disassembly and
maintenance of the device must be performed by a
qualied service technician. Refer service to qualied
service personnel.
WARNING: This device does not require oil. Do not
attempt to lubricate any internal parts.
WARNING: Unplug device before cleaning. Do not
submerge in water for cleaning.
Wipe the compressor’s outer case with a clean, damp cloth weekly to
keep it dust-free. Do not use any powdered cleaners or soap.
Cleaning the Nebulizer Cup
All parts of the disposable nebulizer, except tubing, should be
thoroughly cleaned after each use. If your physician species a specic
cleaning procedure, follow that procedure.
WARNING: To prevent possible risk of infection from
contaminated medication, clean the nebulizer after each
treatment.
1. After each use, disassemble the nebulizer cup and mask or
mouthpiece completely, wash all parts in warm soapy water, and
rinse thoroughly. Allow to air dry. Store in a clean, dry location.
2. Once daily, after washing as above, soak nebulizer components in
a fresh solution consisting of one part warm water and one part
white vinegar for 30 minutes followed by a warm water rinse.
Allow to air dry. Store in a clean, dry location.

Replacing the Filter
s NOTICE: Change the lter once every 30 days or when the
lter changes color.
Info: Additional filters can be purchased at
www.grahamfield.com or from your Graham-Field authorized
distributor.
1. Ensure that ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position. Open the
lter cap located next to the air outlet connector.
2. Remove the dirty lter with a small, pointed object. Discard the
lter.
3. Replace with a clean lter.
4. Replace the lter cap.
s NOTICE: Do not use cotton or other materials as a lter.
s NOTICE: Do not wash or clean the lter.
s NOTICE: Do not reuse the lter. Do not operate
compressor without a lter. Compressor damage can
result.
WARNING: The disposable nebulizer kit is for single
patient use only.
Storage
Keep the device and accessories dry. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If your Nebulizer Compressor fails to function, consult the following
Troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, consult your GrahamField authorized distributor.

When device has been run continuously for more than 30
minutes, auto-shut-down may have been activated by the
built-in thermal protector; ensure device is OFF for at least
30 minutes before next usage.
Check for proper electrical voltage.
Check tubing for blockage or air leakage at connection to
compressor or nebulizer cup; replace as needed.
Check that the nebulizer cup is properly assembled and
not damaged. If there is any damage, replace as needed.
Check if lter is dirty; replace lter as needed.

SCOPE OF WARRANTY
GF Health Products, Inc. (“GF”) warrants to the original purchaser only that it will
replace or repair components, at GF’s sole discretion, that are defective in material or
workmanship under normal use and service. All warranties are conditioned upon the proper
use of the products strictly in accordance with good commercial practice and applicable
GF instructions and manuals, including proper use and maintenance. To the extent that a
component is warranted by a third party, GF conveys all of its rights under that warranty
to the original purchaser, to the extent permitted. is limited warranty shall only apply to
defects that are reported to GF’s customer service team within the applicable warranty period
and which, upon examination by GF or its authorized representative, prove to be a warranty
item. is limited warranty is not transferable.

OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE

whom the Customer purchased the product within the applicable warranty period. If there
is not a Distributor, you must contact GF directly by calling 1.770.368.4700, sending a
fax request to 1.770.368.2386, or by e-mailing a request to cs@grahameld.com. Specic
directions will be provided by the Customer Service Representative. Failure to abide by the
specic directions will result in denial of the warranty claim.
EXCLUSIONS
e warranty does not cover and GF shall not be liable for the following:
1) Defects, damage, or other conditions caused, in whole or in part, by misuse, abuse,
negligence, alteration, accident, freight damage, tampering or failure to seek and obtain
repair or replacement in a timely manner;
2) Products which are not installed, used, or properly cleaned and maintained as required in
the ocial manual for the applicable product;
3) Products considered to be of a non-durable nature including, but not limited to: casters,
lters, fuses, gaskets, lubricants, and charts;
4) Accessories or parts not provided by GF;
5) Charges by anyone for adjustments, repairs, replacement parts, installation or other work
performed upon or in connection with such products which are not expressly authorized
in writing, in advance, by GF;
6) Any labor or shipping charges incurred in the replacement part installation or repair;
7) Costs and expenses of regular maintenance and cleaning; and
8) Representations and warranties made by any person or entity other than GF.

Uso Previsto del Compresor de Nebulizador
El Neb-u-Lite EV2 Compresor de Nebulizador es diseñado para
proveer una fuente de aire comprimido para la terapia de aerosol.
Se usa en conjunto con un nebulizador de chorro (neumático) para
producir aerosoles de medicamento para inhalación por pacientes
con síntomas respiratorios.
Indicaciones para terapia incluye asma, bronquitis crónica, infección
de la zona superior respiratorio, enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva
crónica y otros desordenes que va de acuerdo con la receta de su
médico. No debe usar este producto por cualquier otro propósito, que

o APG.
12. Conecte este producto solamente en un enchufe de pared
correcto.
13. Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (un aspa
es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de
electrocución, este enchufe es diseñado para poder ser
posicionado de una sola manera en una toma eléctrica
polarizada. Si el enchufe no entre completamente en la
toma, invierta el enchufe. Si no funciona de este modo,
contacte un electricista calicado. No modique el
enchufe de ninguna manera.
14. Desconecte el aparato antes de llenar el nebulizador.
15. Este aparato no utiliza aceite. No lubrique.
16. No debe remover el nebulizador de chorro cuando el
aparato está operando.
17. No debe dejar medicamento en el nebulizador cuando no
esté en uso.
18. Use el nebulizador por periodos: el periodo de operación
máximo es 30 minutos. El nebulizador no debe ser usado
por 30 minutos antes de cada uso.

Info: Antes de operación inicial, limpie la taza del
nebulizador siguiendo las instrucciones escritos en la sección
Mantenimiento/Limpieza de la Taza del Nebulizador.
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de conectar el cordón de
electricidad, asegure que el interruptor de ON/OFF está
en la posición OFF.
El enchufe también sirve para desconectar el aparato.
1. Antes de uso, examine el compresor y taza de nebulizador para
daño; reemplace si es necesario.
2. Posicione el aparato en una supercie horizontal para que los
controles estén con fácil acceso. No debe usar este aparato en el
piso.
3 Remueva la tapa de la taza del nebulizador.
4. Inserte medicamento prescrito por su médico. No llenar con más
de 8 ml por tratamiento.
5. Reúne taza y tapa.

8. Conecte la manga al adaptador a la parte inferior de la taza
nebulizador.
9. Conecte la otra parte de la manga al conector de mango del
compresor.
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de uso, verique que todas las
piezas están conectados correctamente. Uso de un
nebulizador armado incorrectamente puede disminuir
o impedir reparto adecuado de medicamento y la
efectividad del tratamiento.

OPERACIÓN
Operación del Compresor de Nebulizador
s AVISO: El Neb-u-Lite EV2 Compresor de Nebulizador está
diseñado para uso solamente por periodos. No debe
operarlo continuamente por más de 30 minutos en un
uso sin apagarlo y dejar que se enfríe por lo menos 30
minutos.
1. Asegurase que el interruptor eléctrico esté en la posición “OFF”.
2. Conecte el cordón eléctrico en la toma eléctrica apropiada.
3. Encienda el compresor posicionando el interruptor a ON.
4. Acomode la boquilla del nebulizador entre los dientes y cierre la
boca (o instale la máscara en la cara).
5. Cuando el aerosol empiece a uir, necesita inhalar profundamente
y despacio a través de la boquilla o la máscara.
ADVERTENCIA: Nunca debe usar el nebulizador con un
inyector tapado. Si el inyector está tapado, la nube de
aerosol será reducido, cambiado o parado, que puede
diminuir o eliminar la efectividad del tratamiento. Si se
tapa, reemplace el nebulizador.
Info: Si el tratamiento necesita ser interruptado, posicione el
interruptor a la posición OFF.
6. Cuando el tratamiento haya terminado, apague el compresor
posicionando el interruptor en la posición OFF.
7. Desenchufe el aparato de la toma eléctrica.
8. Desconecte el nebulizador del mango.
9. Limpie el nebulizador siguiendo las instrucciones escritos
en la sección MANTENIMIENTO/Limpieza de la Taza del
Nebulizador.

Seguridad en Caso de Sobrecarga
s AVISO: No debe exceder más de 30 minutos de operación
continuo.
1. Este compresor contiene un dispositivo de protección termal. Si el
motor comienza a sobrecalentarse, se apagará automáticamente. Si
esto ocurre, posicione el interruptor a la posición OFF y permita
que el motor se enfrié por 30 minutos antes de recomenzar el
compresor.
2. Si el protector apaga el motor frecuentemente, podría tener una
situación de voltaje inestable.
3. Si el aparato se apaga y no se enciende, puede ser necesario
reemplazarlo. Llame a su proveedor inmediatamente.

MANTENIMIENTO
Limpieza de la Carcasa del Compresor
ADVERTENCIA: Riesgo de electrocución. No remueve
carcasa externa de este aparato. Todo desensamblaje y
mantenimiento de este aparato debe ser realizado por un
técnico de servicio calicado.
ADVERTENCIA: Este aparato no necesita aceite. No
lubrique piezas internas.
ADVERTENCIA: Desenchufe el aparato antes de limpiar.
No sumerja bajo agua.
Frote con un paño húmedo cada semana. No utilice detergentes en
polvo o abrasivos que pueden dañar la carcasa.
Limpieza de la Taza del Nebulizador
Todas las piezas del nebulizador desechable, excepto la manga,
deben ser limpiados después de cada uso. Si su médico le da un
procedimiento especica de limpieza, siga ese procedimiento.
ADVERTENCIA: Para prevenir riesgo de infección
causado por medicamento contaminado, la limpieza del
nebulizador se recomienda después de cada tratamiento.
1. Después de cado uso, desensamble la taza del nebulizador y la
máscara o boquilla completamente. Lave todas las piezas en agua
tibia con jabón y enjuague bien.
2. A diario, después del paso anterior, remoje los componentes del
nebulizador en una solución consistiendo de una parte agua y una
parte vinagre por 30 minutos, seguido por un enjuague con agua
tibia.

Instrucciones para el Cambio del Filtro de Aire
s AVISO: Cambie el ltro cada 30 días o cuando el ltro
cambia color. Filtros adicionales pueden ser comprados
en www.grahameld.com o de su distribuidor autorizado
de Graham-Field.
1. Asegúrese de que el interruptor ON/OFF está en la posición OFF.
Remueva la tapa del ltro de aire localizado al lado del conector
del enchufe de aire.
2. Remueva el ltro sucio con un objeto punzante.
3. Reemplace el ltro nuevo.
4. Reemplace la tapa del ltro.

GARANTÍA LIMITADA
AMBITO DE GARANTÍA
GF Health Products, Inc. (“GF”) garantía al comprador original o arrendatario (cual quiera
es el “Cliente”) solamente, que va reemplazar o reparar componentes, a la decisión solo
de GF, cuales son defectos en material o calidad utilizado normalmente y con servicio. La
garantía es para partes solamente y no incluye fuerza laboral o el costo de transporte. Esta
garantía limitada no es transferible. Todas garantías son condicionales por el uso apropiado
del producto estrictamente en acuerdo con las instrucciones aplicables de GF, incluyendo
uso apropiado y mantenimi ento. Producto próvido a usuarios como réntales deben ser
serviciados por el proveedor y inspeccionado antes de entrega. Cada usuario debe ser
preparado en la operación y seguridad de este producto antes de uso.
Dentro las reglas normales en este documento, este producto y sus componentes a estar libre
de defectos de materiales o mano de obra según listado debajo:

El período de garantía se comienza en la fecha de transporte al Cliente a menos que haya una
fecha de expiración en el componente en cual la garantía se expira en la período de garantía o
la fecha de expiración.
OBTENIENDO SERVICIO DE GARANTÍA
La garantía limitada solamente aplica a defectos reportados al Distribuidor de quien el
Cliente compro el producto y quienes ellos en turno notica al equipo de Servicio de
Cliente de GF dentro el período de garantía aplicable en cuanto será examinado por GF
o un representante autorizado para probar el producto sobre garantía. Falta de seguir las
instrucciones especícas resultara en rechazo de la reclamación de garantía. Si no hay
Distribuidor, debes llamar a GF directamente llamando 1.770.368.4700, mandando fax a
1.770.368.2386 o por email a cs@grahameld.com. Direcciones especícos se van a dar por
el Representante de Servicio De Clientes.
EXCLUSIONES
La garantía no cubre y GF no será responsable de lo siguiente:
1) Defectos, daños u otras condiciones causadas, en su totalidad o en parte, por el mal uso,
abuso, negligencia, alteración, accidentes, daños durante el transporte, manipulación
indebida o dejar de solicitar y obtener la reparación o el reemplazo de una manera
oportuna;
2) Productos que no se instalen, utilicen, limpien y mantengan de manera apropiada, como
se requiere en el manual ocial aplicable para el producto;
3) Productos que se consideran que no son de naturaleza duradera, incluyendo, pero sin
limitarse a: ruedas, ltros, fusibles, juntas, lubricantes, y grácos;
4) Accesorios o piezas no suministradas por GF;
5) Cargos por concepto de ajustes, reparaciones, piezas de recambio, instalación u otro
trabajo realizado en o relacionados con tales productos que no estén autorizados
expresamente por escrito, de antemano, por GF;
6) Cualquier gasto de mano de obra o de envío que se incurra en la instalación de la pieza de
reemplazo o la reparación;
7) Costos y gastos del mantenimiento y limpieza regular; y
8) Representaciones y garantías hechas por cualquier persona o entidad que no sea GF.

GARANTÍAS ENTENDIDOS DE COMERCIALIZACIÓN O IDONEIDAD PARA
UN PREPÓSITO PARTICULAR. SI UN MODELO Y MUESTRA SE LE ENSEÑO
A UN CLIENTE, TAL MODELO O MUESTRA FUE UTILIZADO SOLAMENTE
PARA ILUSTRAR EL TIPO GENERAL Y CALIDAD DEL PRODUCTO Y NO PARA
REPRESENTAR QUE EL PRODUCTO SE CONFORME CON ESE MODELO Y
MUESTRA EN TODOS RESPETOS. TODA RESPONSABILIDAD DE GF POR
CUALQUIER PRODUCTO Y SERVICIO PROVEÍDO ES LIMITADA AL COSTO
DEL PRODUCTO EN LA RECLAMACIÓN. EN NO EVENTO EN CONTRACTO,
INDEMNIZACIÓN, GARANTÍA, NEGLIGENCIA, RESPONSABILIDAD ESTRICTA
O OTRO QUE GF SERÁ RESPONSABLE POR CUALQUIER DAÑÓ DIRECTO,
ESPECIAL, INDIRECTO, INCIDENTAL, EJEMPLAR O CONSIGUIENTES
INCLUYENDO PERO NO LIMITADO A: DAÑOS PARA PERDIDA DE BENEFICIO
O GANANCIA, PERDIDA DE USO, INACTIVO, O SALARIOS DE EMPLEADOS O
TRABAJADORES CONTRACTORES, PAGOS O BENEFICIOS.
NOTAS:
1) Se pueden aplicar términos y condiciones adicionales.
2) Las reclamaciones de ete se deben anotar en los documentos de embarque apropiados y
deben hacerse con inmediatez. Los requisitos especícos para las reclamaciones de etes
se rigen por regulaciones internacionales, federales y estatales. El incumplimiento de estas
regulaciones podría resul tar en la denegación de la reclamación de ete. GF le ayudará en
la presentación de la reclamación de ete.
3) Las reclamaciones de embarques con faltantes se deben realizar en un plazo de tres (3) días
de la fecha de la factura.
