Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system. With proper
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your authorized JL Audio
dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience
to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. Also, keep in mind that your warranty coverage
extends to 2 years if your system is installed or approved by your authorized JL Audio dealer. If you
prefer to perform your own installation, please read this installation guide completely
before beginning the process.
If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that the Stealthbox® be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration.
S T E P 1
Remove anything stored in the passenger rear corner of the trunk so that you are working in a clean environment.
Unpack the Stealthbox® and test for proper operation before continuing!
The wiring for the Stealthbox® should go from the seam between the seatback and the floor to the amplifier location.
S T E P 2
Place the wax square as shown onto the interior panel.
Remove the two cargo anchors from the mounts as indicated by the arrows. These anchors will be installed on the Stealthbox.
S T E P 3

S T E P 7
Connect the wires going to the amplifier, the red terminal is

From inside the fenderwell, insert the bolt, split lock washer and fender washer through the hole that was just drilled, up through the spacer that is taped in place and thread it into the Stealthbox® tighten it down so that it’s quite snug.
S T E P 9
Mount the cargo anchors the were removed in STEP 2 to the Stealthbox® using the two 1/4-20 x 1” bolts and, 6mm Flat Washers. Do not use rachet type straps on these anchors as they are only attached to the vehicle by the bolt that secures the Stealthbox®. Use only the OEM supplied cargo net!

Using a 3/4” hole saw, use the mark left in the wax square as center, drill and, saw through the plastic panel. After going through the plastic panel, continue to drill so that the pilot in the center of the hole saw goes through the metal inner fender.
DO NOT USE THE SAW THROUGH THE INNER FENDER, ONLY GO DEEP ENOUGH TO MAKE THE PILOT HOLE!
S T E P 6
Make sure that the pilot hole will allow the 3/8” bolt to pass through it. Use a piece of tape to secure the 1” spacer in place so that it won’t fall as the bolt is inserted from below into the enclosure.
