for the
(Fits 2001-2003 Honda Civic Coupe,
2-door)
This Stealthbox is a product which requires professional installation skills and tools. Please read this installation guide thoroughly before beginning the project. It will guide you step by step through the installation. Several of the steps in this process may require two people to accomplish.
It is absolutely vital that the enclosure be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems: 1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s) and
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration.
Please enjoy your JL Audio Stealthbox responsibly.
STEP 1:
Remove the factory cargo net, net
hooks and the flooring.
STEP 2:
Cut the passenger’s side wood floor-
boards ear. Do this outside of the vehicle.
Using a straight edge and marking a line will help in cutting a straight line.
STEP 3:
Only remove this cargo net hook.
This is on the passenger side of the trunk.
*In the next two steps ,you need to plot
two marked locations from measurements. This is to find the proper location of the placement of the supplied wax square.*
STEP 4:
Measuring 5.0” (127mm) from the floor, up to the mark from STEP 4.Mark location.
STEP 5:
Measuring 8” (203.22mm) from the rear of the back rear to the trunk opening, mark location.
STEP 6:
This placement of the wax square is not going to allow for good adhesion. Using a heavy duty style tape will help the wax square to stay into place.
*You do not want the wax square to
move, when placing the Stealthbox into place, in STEP 9.*

STEP 8: Place the pair of supplied socket cup set screws into the Stealthbox. Leaving about 1/4” exposed.
The insert can be located by flipping the Stealthbox upside down.
STEP 12: Replace the flooring, that was removed in STEP 1. Using a utility knife, cut a slit that is lined up with this location’s mounting hole. This is to allow the socket cup set screw to pass through the carpeting to the mounting hole.
STEP 13: Replace the factory cargo net and hooks, that were removed in STEP 1.
Run speaker wire to the Stealthbox location and attach to the terminal, on the back of the Stealthbox.
*Double check the woofer for proper opera-
tion.*
STEP 9: Place the Stealthbox into place and
press firmly. When pulled away, the wax squares should have the socket sup set screw markings. If not you need to back out the set screws, for proper marking.
The upper wax square didn’t move? You did tape it, right?
STEP 10: Pull the Stealthbox out of location.
*CAUTION*
Before drilling, make sure that you are not going to be drilling into any gas lines, brake lines, transmission lines, electrical wiring or anything else that might cause a reduction in your weekly pay. Always wear eye protection when drilling.
