3 Getting Started
3.1 Insert SIM and Memory Card
You can use your phone with one or two SIM cards inserted.
1. Open the cover and remove the battery as shown below.
2. Insert the SIM card correctly in the card slot(s) as shown below.
3. Open the memory card slot, and insert the memory card into the slot with the gold
colored Phonebook facing down.
The Memory Card gives you extra storage capacity for content such as pictures,
music and video clips.
Do not remove the memory card while reading or writing to the card. Doing so
may cause data corruption on the card or on the phone.
Use only compatible memory cards approved by Micromax. Incompatible cards
may damage the slot or corrupt the data stored in the card.
3.2 Charge the Battery
You can charge your battery by using the charger or the USB cable supplied with this
phone.
3.2.1 Charging via power socket
1. Connect the charger to the charger jack on the phone.

2. Next, connect the charger to a power socket, the charging starts, with the charging
icon in an animated state.
3. When the charging icon becomes static, it indicates that the battery is full.
4. Disconnect the charger from the power socket and the phone.
3.2.2 Charging via USB cable
1. Connect the USB cable to the USB socket on the phone.
2. Next, connect the USB jack of the cable with the pc or laptop. The charging starts,
with the charging icon in an animated state.
3. Disconnect the USB cable from the PC/Laptop and the phone.
Note: Slight heating during charging is normal. It indicates that the battery is full,
when the charging icon becomes static.
4 The Home Screen
When you sign in, the home screen opens.You can use the navigation key
characteristics.
The Phone screen displays application icons, widgets, and other features.
At the top of the screen, the Status bar displays the time, status, and notifications.
4.1 Unlock the phone
If you do not use the phone for a while, the screen is replaced with a locked screen
and it darkens to conserve the battery.
1、Press Unlock key on the keyboard, it will say “Press star key to unlock keyboard”.
2、Press the “*”key, then you will enter home interface.
5 The Main Menu
5.1 Contacts
Through your Phonebook ，you can access your existing Phonebook as well as
organize groups, access SIM related services and blacklist undesired numbers from
calling you up.
The Phonebook is organized into tabs for easily accessing and using.
You can access Phonebook from the main menu.
Your Phonebook allows you to organize your Phonebook into groups for customizing

call tunes and other preferences specific to those groups.
You can view the Phonebook by Phone, SIM 1/SIM 2 memory and caller groups.
5.2 Call logs
Menu >Call logs
It offers a convenient way to redial a number, return a call, or add a number to your
Phonebook.
Press the Call button you can view dialed, received, missed and blocked calls.
Note: You can configure call blocking by going to Settings> Phone tab> Call
settings>Call Barring.
5.3 Settings
You can go to Settings to set various preferences for your phone.

5.4Multimedia
Movie Player
Press the right key in camera mode as you wish or press Vedio Recorder in Media tools.
Note: Your camcorder records videos in 3GP format.
For viewing, your phone supports KMV video formats.
Video recorder
Press the right key in camera mode as you wish or press Vedio Recorder in Media tools.
Note: Your camcorder records videos in 3GP format.
For viewing, your phone supports 3GP, MP4 and AVI video formats.
Audio player
Also it is called music player.Your M303m comes with a music player to let you
enjoy any music of your choice through your TF card. You can easily transfer your
favorite music from your PC to the TF card and experience a whole world of
interesting and melodious music.
Press the phone’s up and down keys. A panel opens to show the current media volume;
the indicator moves as you adjust the volume.
Video player
Access the menu, you can enter film list and press “options” to choose a movie clip to
play, send, rename, delete, delete all files, view details. While playing, long press
right or left key to adjust the rate of progress, up and down key to adjust volume,
center key to play or pause.Avi,3gp and mp4 formats are supported.
Image viewer
Enter the menu you can view the photos in phone memory or memory card. Press the
left soft key can be: View, set as , send, rename, delete, delete all files, mark, slide
show, view details. View pictures, the left soft key can be: set to Phonebook, set as
wallpaper, send, delete, can also see pictures of view details.

Recorder
Press center button to start recording, press the right soft key to stop recording. Press
the left soft key options are: play, new, delete, view files.
FM radio
You can listen as well as record your favorite FM channels using the inbuilt FM
receiver of your phone.
You can record your channels in AMR formats. You can set various radio preferences
from Options > Settings.
5.5 Messages
You can use Messaging to exchange text and multimedia messages with your friends.
New SMS
1. Choose Menu > Messages to start messaging.
2. On the Messaging screen, choose Create New > SMS.
3. Use the keyboard on your phone to type your message.
4. Pressing Options while composing a message gives you various SMS features, such as insert
picture, video, template and so on.
New MMS
1. On the Messaging screen,chose Create New> MMS.
2. Choose the To, Subject fields and as required to enter the details.
3. Use the keyboard on the phone to type your message body.
4. Press Options while composing a message gives you various MMS features.
5. Press the Send button to send a message.
Inbox: Store the messages received.
Draft Box: Store the messages unfinished
Out Box: Store the messages that have failed to send out
Sent Box：Store the messages that have sent successfly
Templates：List the default phrase or you can add their own phrase, for convenient and practical
Broadcast message：Cell Broadcast is an information service provided by the
network operator. The service can be almost anything from weather forecast to cricket
scores, traffic conditions and so on.
You can choose your broadcast message setting by going to Menu > Messages>
Broadcast message.
Note: Please contact your service provider for the details of the setting if it is not
displayed by default.Similarly, from here, you can choose the settings for SMS, MMS,
and voicemail.

Voice mail server：You can activate voicemail service to redirect your incoming calls
(based on your call settings) to a voicemail server and retrieve them later via SMS
alerts.
You can also send voicemails to your desired Phonebook. To divert incoming calls to
a voicemail server/Voicemail Number.
Note: You need to contact your network provider for the voicemail server number
Message Settings
Menu > Messages> Options>Settings
You can choose your preferences for SMS, MMS, Cell Broadcast, and Voice Mail
from here.
You can also view your message related memory status.
Delete all
Can delete Inbox Outbox Drafts entry in the Sentbox
5.6 My files
It provides you the functions such as browsing media files, checking storage space
and formatting function. When browsing the media files, you can operate the selected
files such as copy, delete etc.
5.7 Games
Enter the menu can be built-in games to play Snake

Calendar
Access this menu, the calendar will be shown on the screen. Press the icon to change
the date, and the calendar shown on the screen will be changed accordingly.
Alarm
Set the alarm time and it will remind you by alert tone or vibration when the alarm
time comes.

User can view the local time of some cities around the world.

Access this menu, you can press the numbers on the screen to set a time,then press

5.9Camera
You can choose various preferences for your photos. Adjust the exposure, and other
settings if you wish.
Frame your subject on screen. You can zoom in or out by sliding the Zoom icon. You
can choose to save or delete the image displayed on the screen.
5.10 profiles
You can according to different events and environments to set the Tone settings,
Volume, Alert type, Ring type, Connected notice, Extra tone, Answer mode. Optional
profiles have a standard model, general, meeting, outdoor, silent, personal,Headset,
Bluetooth. In standby mode, you can press and hold “# “key to switch to silent mode.
Note: Also you can access to User Profile in Shortcuts.
5.11 Internet
Before surfing the internet, You shoud do WAP profile setting for displaying web
pages. For this you need to set up a data account. Please refer to the previous section,
setting up GPRS connection for setting up a data account.
1. Choose Menu> Settings>Connection tab.
2. Choose WAP Settings then set profiles.
3. Select from the list of default WAP profiles listed by your network operator’s SIM.
4. Enter or select the details of the profile.
Note: You may need to contact the network operator for the details of the WAP
settings.

5.12 Bluetooth
Your phone enables you to connect the phone wirelessly to other Bluetooth devices
and exchange data with them, or talk hands-free.
1. Tap Menu>Bluetooth.
2. You can search and pair with other Bluetooth devices and perform Bluetooth
settings.
Note: Go to Bluetooth > Settings and enable the visibility option so that your phone
can be detected by other Bluetooth devices for exchanging data.
6 Health and Safety Information
Please read the following guidelines regarding the use of your phone. Not following
them may be dangerous or illegal.
Safe Driving
Do not use the phone while driving. When you have to use the phone, please use the
personal hands-free kit.
Please do not put the phone onto any passenger seat or any place from which it may
fall down in case of vehicular collision or emergency braking.
During Flight
Flight is influenced by interference caused by the phone. It is illegal to use a phone on
the airplane. Please turn off your phone or switch to flight mode during a flight.
In Hospitals
Your Phone’s radio waves may interfere with the functioning medical devices.
Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device to determine whether
they are adequately shielded from external Radio Frequency. Switch off your device
when regulations posted instruct you to do so.
Do not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket.
Turn off the phone if there is any reason to suspect that interference is taking place.

Please turn off your phone when you are close to a gas station or in the vicinity of any
place where fuel and chemical preparations, or any other dangerous goods are stored.
7 Taking Care Of Your Device
Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should be handled with care:
The following suggestions will help you protect your phone:
Keep the device dry. If your device gets wet, remove the battery without turning on the device,

Do not store the device in high or cold temperature. High temperatures can shorten the life of
electronic devices and damage batteries.
Do not use or store the device in dusty, dirty areas. Its moving parts and electronic components
can be damaged.
Do not attempt to open the device other than as instructed in this guide. Repairing the phone by
you other than our authorized service agents/centers goes against the warranty rules.
Do not drop, knock, or shake the device. Rough handling can break internal circuit boards and fine
mechanics.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the device. Only use a
soft, clean, dry cloth to clean the surface of the device.
Do not store your device near magnetic fields or allow your device to come in contact with
magnetic fields for extended period of time.
Battery Recommendations:
Please put the battery in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Charge the battery at room
temperature range.
If the time span of the battery after charging becomes much shorter than usual, the battery life is at
an end. Replace the battery with a new battery of the same make and specification.
Do not discard the battery with household trash. Please dispose of used battery according to your
local environmental laws and guidelines.
Use manufacturer approved batteries, chargers, accessories and supplies. Micromax will not be
responsible for user’s safety when using unapproved batteries or accessories.
