WARNING
1. Read and understand the entire contents of this manual before attempting assembly or
operation. Do not use this machine until proper training and knowledge has been obtained.
2. Do not leave Dust Collector when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
3. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
4. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.
5. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
6. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If Dust Collector is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoor, or dropped in water, return it to a service center.
7. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run Dust Collector over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
8. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
9. Do not handle plug or Dust Collector with wet hands.
10. Do not put any objects into the openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from opening and moving parts.
12. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
13. Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.
14. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
15. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.
16. Do not operate without hose connected to the inlet ports or covered by an inlet cap. Hazardous moving parts inside. Unplug machine before removing inlet port, inlet cap, hose, or inlet guard.
17. Use the inlet caps to cover the inlet port openings that are not connected to hoses.
18. Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling andother constructionactivities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead based paint
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement andother masonryproducts, and
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.
19. Your risk from those exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specifically designed to filter out microscopic particles
20. Do not operate tool while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any medication.
21. Make sure the extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersize cord will cause a drop in the line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. The table below shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller gauge number, the heavier the cord.
22. Do not use dust collector for anything except wood dust. Materials such as liquids, metal shavings, metal dust, screws, glass, plastic or rock can cause sparks and/or damage when coming into contact with any part of the dust collector.
23. Ground your dust collector along all plastic componets. The connection of bare 12 gauge copper wire on all plastic hoses, fittings and blast gates to all machines will help reduce the occurrence of static build up and discharge.

Assembly
WARNING
The dust collector must be disconnected
from the power source during assembly,
unplug. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury!
1. Install four casters to the under side of the
base as pictured in Fig. 1. Thread the hex
nut (B, Fig. 1) onto the caster shaft. Then
slide the lock washer (A, Fig. 1) ov er the
caster shaft. Thread the caster shaft into
the threaded hole on the underside of the
base, turn until snug. Tighten the nut (B,
Fig. 1) against the base with a 14mm
wrench. This will give the caster proper
clearance.
2. Place the base with casters on the ground.
Attach the motor and fan assembly (C, Fig.
2) to the base using six M8 x 20 hex cap
bolts, six larger M10 flat washers (D, Fig. 2),
and a 13mm wrench.
3. Place the gasket (E, Fig. 2) on the fan
housing. Line up the pegs on the gasket
with the holes in the housing.
4. Attach inlet guard (F, Fig. 2) to fan housing
using eight M6 x 12 pan head screw s (G,
Fig. 2). Press the inlet port onto the inlet
guard until it snaps into place. Secure in
place with a 3/16” x 1/2" pan head flange
screw (H, Fig. 2).
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from moving
parts, always keep inlet port covered with
the caps provided, if they are not
connected to a hose. Failure to comply
may result in serious injury!
5. Attach connector tube to fan housing using
six M8 x 20 hex cap bolts, twelve M8 flat
washers, six M8 hex nuts (I, Fig. 3), and a

6. Place the gasket (A, Fig. 4) between the
housing and connector tube. Line up the
pegs on the gasket with the holes in the
housing.
7. Attach the collector housing (B, Fig. 4) to
connector tube with eight M8 x 20 hex cap
bolts, sixteen M8 flat washers, and eight M8
hex nuts . Be sure that inside deflector of
the housing points down toward the collector
bag.
Note: There are two holes in the housing
that need to be on the same side as the two
holes in the base.
8. Repeat for opposite side, see Figure 5.
9. Attach support bracket (C, Fig. 6) to base
using two M8 x 20 hex cap bolts and two
M8 flat washers, (D, Fig. 6). Do not tighten

Electrical Connections
WARNING
All electrical connections must be done by a
qualified electrician. A ll adjustments or
repairs must be done with the dust collector
disconnected from the power source,
unplugged. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury!
Removing the Collector Bag
CAUTION
Wearing a particle mask/respirator for
protection against fine dust particles during
cleaning is highly recommended.
1. Disconnect the machine from the power
source, unplug.
The DC-1900-1 dust collector is rated at 230V Only and is not supplied with a plug. Use a
plug and outlet rated at least 20 amps. The circuit for the machine should also be protected by at least a 20 amp circuit breaker or fuse. Keep in mind that a curcuit being used by other machines, tools, lights, heaters, etc. at the same time will add to the electrical load. A dedicated curcuit to the dust collector will give you the best results since dust collectors are generally used at the same time other tools are running.
Before hooking up to the power source, make sure that the switch is in the off position.
Turning the M achine On & Off
Before hooking up to the power source, make sure that the switch is in the off position.
The dust collector can be turned on by pressing the start button mounted next to the motor. Press the stop button to turn off the dust collector.
Maintenance
WARNING
Never perform maintenace on this machine
before turning switch off and removing plug
from power source, unplug.
Failure to comply may cause serious injury!
2. Remove the collector bag by pushing the ring of the collector bag upwards at an angle and pulling the bag and snap ring out.
3. Empty the contents into an appropriate container.
4. See Page 8 for details on replacing the collector bags.
Motor
Make frequent inspections of the motor fan and blow out (with low pressure air hose) or vacuum any accumulation of foreign material in order to maintain normal motor ventilation.
Connecting the Dust collector to a Machine
Use the proper type hose to connect the dust collector to the machine being operated. Dryer vent hose is not acceptable for this purpose. Contact your nearest JET distributor for the full line of JET Dust Collector Hoses and Accessories. Customize your installation and obtain maximum performance with JET's dust hoods, hoses, clamps, fittings, and blast gates.
You can also purchase the JET “Dust Collection Basics Video” stock # JW1050V through your JET Distributor
Cleaning the Filter
Clean both the filter and collector bags frequently to keep the collector's performance at its optimum.
To clean the filter turn the handle a couple rotations so the dust falls into the collector bag.
Grounding the Dust Collection System
The dust collection system includes the dust collector and the hose, or duct work you use to connect the tools. The dust collector is grounded though the ground wire in the cord. The hose or duct work you use to connect the tool to the dus t collector must also be grounded. To assist in grounding your system you can purchase the JET “Dust Collector Grounding Kit” stock # JW1053, and also the JET “Dust Collection Basics Video” stock # JW1050V through JET Distributors.
