website.
• JET products carry a limited warranty which varies in duration based upon the product. (See chart below)
• Accessories carry a limited warranty of one year from the date of receipt.
• Consumable items are defined as expendable parts or accessories expected to become inoperable within a
reasonable amount of use and are covered by a 90 day limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
Who is Covered
This warranty covers only the initial purchaser of the product from the date of delivery.
What is Covered
This warranty covers any defects in workmanship or materials subject to the limitations stated below. This warranty does not cover
failures due directly or indirectly to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, normal wear-and-tear, improper repair, alterations or
lack of maintenance. JET woodworking machinery is designed to be used with Wood. Use of these machines in the processing of
metal, plastics, or other materials outside recommended guidelines, may void the warranty. The exceptions are acrylics and other
natural items that are made specifically for wood turning.
Warrant y Limitations
Woodworking products with a Five Year Warranty that are used for commercial or industrial purposes default to a Two Year
Warranty. Please contact Technical Service at 1-800-274-6846 for further clarification.

treated lumber.
Your risk of exposure varies, depending on
how often you do this t yp e of w ork. To reduc e
your e xposure to t hese chemic als, wor k in a
well-ventilated area and work with approved
safety equipmen t, such as face or dust masks
that are specifically designed to filter out
microscopic particles.
9. Do not operate an air tool continually at full
throttle withou t a w ork l oad on the tool .
10. The air tool must be properly lubricated before
oper atin g.
11. Never start a percussion type air tool (chipper,

Operation
1. Blow out air line to remove any dirt or
moisture, then connect air supply hose to
tool’s air in l et.
IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-change
coupling directly to the tool is not
recommended, as vibration may cause the
connection to fail. Instead, add a leader hose
and install any quick-change couplings
farther down the line.
7. Rotate fan control knob counterclockwise for
full, flat spray pattern; clockwise for narrower
pattern.
NOTE: To reduce overspray and obtain maximum
efficiency, always spray with the lowest possible
air pressure/fluid flow combination.
2. Unscrew cup lid and add fluid to be sprayed.
(Follow paint manufacturer’s instructions for
proper mixing.)
3. Set regul ator to desir ed air press ure. (R efer
to gun’s rated maxi m u m pressur e).
4. Loosen air cap knurled ring and rotate air cap
horns to effect horizontal or vertical spray.
Retigh ten air cap.
Horiz ont al h orns ( as s h own i n F igur e 1) wil l
produce vertical pattern for side-to-side
motion. Vertical horns produce horizontal
pattern used for top-to-bottom motion.
5. Squeez ing tr igger p art way op ens air valve.
Squeez in g fur ther r etrac ts f lui d need le, t hus
releas i ng flu id w h er e it is atom iz ed b y the air
flowing through air cap.
6. Rotate fluid control knob clockwise to
decr ease fl ow of mat erial, c ounterc lock wise
to incr ease. Tight en locking knob to secur e
setting.
Figure 1
Spray gun movement
The gun shou ld be held p erpendic ular t o surf ace
being covered, and moved parallel with it at a
consistent pace. See Figure 2. The stroke should
be started before the trigger is pulled, and the
trigger released before the stroke is ended.
Distance between gun and surface should be 6 to
12 inches depending upon material and atomizing
pressure.
Depos ited mat erial sh ould be ev en and wet. Lap
each stroke over the preceding stroke from 1/3 to
1/2, to obtain a uniform finish.

it spr ays cl ear. D o NOT imm erse the entir e
gun in solvent.
2. D is c onn ec t air h os e f r om tool.
3. Remove air cap and clean. Make sure holes
in horns are cl ean .
4. Use solvent and the provided brush to
remove any deposits around fluid nozzle.
5. For more detailed cleaning, use provided
spanner to remove fluid control knob, fluid
nozzle, and needle (in that order). Clean
nozzl e an d needle with brush and solution.
Reassemble parts by reversing above order.
6. Periodically lubricate the gun. Use a light
machin e oil (Air Tool Oil or SAE #10) on t h e
following areas. Do not use lubricants
containing silicone.
•Fluid needle packing (to prevent needle
from sticking)
• Air valve packing
• Trigger pivot point
• Threaded parts
Maintenance
Note: All parts on a spray gun should be screwed
in hand ti ght at first; this will avoid the p ossibilit y
of cross threading the parts. If parts cannot be
turned by hand easily, make sure you have the
correct parts, unscrew, realign and try again.
Never use undue force in mat in g part s .
All nozzles and needles are precision made – they
should be handled car efully. When changing t o a
different nozzle size, make sure that complete
nozzle set is exchanged (air cap/nozzle/needle).
Adjust fluid control knob so that when gun is
triggered, air-flow occurs bef ore fluid-flow.
Do not probe any holes in
nozzle with metal instrumen ts, as damage to
spray gun can affe ct prop er operation.
Cleaning
1. After use, remove cup and drain residual
mater ial. R ins e c up wit h a c lean ing s olut ion
or water, depending upon material used.

Storage
Hang th e spr ay gun b y its h ook wh en not i n us e,
to prevent leaks or blockages. Disconnect air
hose before storage.
Air system requi rements
1. Use proper air hose size (refer to tool
specifications). The hose should be just long
enough to serve the working area. Excessive
hose len gt h wil l c ause pressur e drop.
2. Make sure air compressor supplies clean,
dry air at correct CFM for tool.
3. Set air pressure according to tool
specifications.
Excess air pressure
and/or un clean air will sh orten the tool’ s
life and may create a hazardous situation.
4. Drain water f rom air com press or tan k dail y,
as well as any condens ation from air lin es .
W ater in the air lin e may enter the t ool and
cause damage.
5. C h ang e f ilt ers on th e air syst em on a reg ul ar
basis.

6. Air-line pressure may be increased
accor di n gly to compensate f or ext ra-long air
hoses (usually over 25 feet). Inside diameter
of hos e sh oul d b e mini m um 3/8-inc h .
General Air Tool
Information
If the air tool is not performing according to
specif ications , th e foll owing are am ong t he most
common causes. (See also “Troubleshooting”
section.)
•Contam inated air such as a dirty air s ystem
or water in the system.
• Using wrong size tool for the job.
• Poor maint enanc e pract ices, such as us ing
excessive air pressure or air volume.
•Improper or no lubrication.
Use safety shut-off valves so air flow can be
stopped quickly in case of a line break.
W hen using multip le hos es, air hoses shou ld be
larger than leader hose. Join multiple hoses
directly, rather than with quick connect fittings
which m ay caus e pressure dr ops and tool power
reduction.
Use anti-whip devices across hose couplings to
prevent hose from whipping in the event of a hose
failur e or c oup li ng dis connec t.
Always us e m oist ure tr aps at th e c ompr ess or f or
the main distribu tion line. Use moist ure traps on
each downline that is to be used for air tools.
Recycling
Protect the environment. Your tool contains
materials which can be recovered or recycled.
W hen its us eful life has expired, please leave tool
at a specialized facility.
Air System Recommendations
Equip the air compressor intake with a
replaceable air filter that can be easily cleaned.
